Trelagism sounds exactly like Nu Ralik the god worshipped by Purelakers.

Not sure what this means exactly just something I had not seen posted yet.

Trelagists believed that night was sacred and daylight was profane. During the night, Trelagists were able to see the Thousand Eyes of Trell (the stars) watching over them, but during the day, Nalt - jealous of the worship given to his brother - would shine his single eye (the sun) on the land, blocking Trelagists from seeing Trell's eyes.

Pure Lakers worship a god they call Nu Ralik, but they never say his name out loud. They try to trick Nu Ralik's younger, spiteful brother, Vun Makak, into believing they worship him instead to avoid his jealousy. Nu Ralik can only be worshipped openly in a holy grotto.

Sanderson has also mentioned that there is a Shard who's all about hiding...

I like this parallel! Though, if the Purelakers have the right of it and the younger was more powerful in the literal sense, that points to him not being a shard, since they all started off at the same power level. Of course, this is on the Timeline of gods, so there could be plenty of time for one to gain power.

On the other hand (and this aluminum foil hat is extra silly) The Purelakers are of sELAy ethnicity, and the religion of Trell is called trELAgism... should we be turning our focus (har har) on Aon Ela?

Focus, Center. It's in the name Elantris, being the center portion of the massive Aon Rao.

Trelagism would be a word written in some ancient tongue translated into the TFE era language (apparently a Terris dialect) then written as English, though, so it shouldn't even have Aonic syllables in it any more than "Dominion" contains Aon Omi.
