He'd call himself Night's Sorrow as a joke mocking Lucentia's complaining, and go with a completely goth look just to mess with her....yeah, I can see it happening. :P

hahaha or Lucentia could rename herself to be extra melodramatic if something bad happens.

One of the aforementioned people who could fight them from Astoria :P

Bloody Mary, Bioterror and a few others could probably do well too.

I can see Mary going goth if Nighthound rejects her, or she finds out about Red :P

Melodramatic!Lucentia wouldn't pick anything so tastefully subdued as "Night's Sorrow." Maybe something like "She Who Carries the World's Burdens in Her Handbasket" or even just "PITY ME" if she was running short on time. :P

We'll just have to wait for Calamity before working out how this will affect us, I guess.

And as a bonus, if Calamity comes out we can write whatever we like for all the canon Epics mentioned previously, since it can't be contradicted! :D

Little known fact of Oregon:
Lucentia's name is actually just the title of the 1400 page epic about how woefully set upon she is and how unfair life is to her that consists of her true Epic name. :P

I thought everyone was pretty sure that that was the case. Also, any copies of that epic need to burn with Nighthound hugging passes(and Nighthound).

Edit: Storm it, autocorrect.

I think Night Sorrow was already the character I am most excited about learning more about, so I hope Calamity can give us some answers.

On the subject of Legacy, I was thinking more about her weakness, which will be location based, and about her using it, or her fear of it, to shock her back into reality, and remind herself of who she is.

Anyways, since we determined an epic intentionally exposing themselves to their own weakness was a little drastic, I was wondering about having her carry an item with her that reminds her of her weakness.  Basically she'd carry an object on her, and then when she starts forgetting who she is, she can look at it, and the reminder of her weakness helps to remind her of her fear, and remembering what she is afraid of helps her to remember her own identity.

I'm calling it now--Night's Sorrow is an Epic child. A really powerful one.

That, or she's Sam who's gone full Epic. Given my track record with theorizing, both guesses are probably equally likely to be true. :P

Sam's snark is far more powerful than any other epic power known. It allows her to discover epic weaknesses and annoy Lightwards.

Discovering weaknesses is pretty cool, but annoying Lightwards isn't that hard. Dogs, Christmas lights, and grapefruits all do the same thing. :P

That was my suspicion, too. A super scary Epic child.

...who is nowhere near Sam's level when it comes to snark. :P

"Right. Do you need me to tie your shoelaces?"

Both are distinct possibilities :P

Is there any possibility that Sam is secretly a time travelling Epic and child!Sam is Night's Sorrow?

Also I approve this method of insanity-keeping-in-check. Then again I'm not generally supportive of preventing characters from being insane, usually I'm the one shoving them in the opposite direction so I both approve and disapprove of this measure. :P

There was a joke before Firefight came out that a corrupted Voidgaze would go on a rampage, destroy Oregon, and call herself Obliteration. :P

Well, if we want to stick to my characters, I still have that goth High Epic from a while back in reserve.

He'd call himself Night's Sorrow as a joke mocking Lucentia's complaining, and go with a completely goth look just to mess with her....yeah, I can see it happening. :P

And then the persona sticked with the poor fellow. At least he isn't whining about it like Lucentia would. :P

Could work, hard to make a call without an actual example.

Oh no, what caused him to destroy an entire state? A nightmare upon meeting Nighthound or Funtimes not sharing her toys. :P

On a more serious note. Are we actually going to incorporate NS no matter what or hold this open to take place in universe 647, the one where Obliteration started dating a librarian? :P

If we're gonna be serious, I vote firmly against handing over the destruction of the state to Night's Sorrow. Obliteration's one thing, but an Epic explicitly described as having destroyed all of Oregon? That's not something we can work in without doing a disservice to our current plot lines and characters.

Right, good to know I'm not alone on that front.

I vote that we use the universe in which Steelheart is known as FabPants, an Epic who rules Newcago through the sheer awe that his stylish pants inspire.

Unless it's some deal like "Oregon was mostly wasteland when NS showed up, and NS just finished it off," I'll also vote against handing over the destruction to one Epic. We've put all this in motion, and we should see it to the end.

Good news! I have a new WoB about the Reckonerverse.

Small isue: I found it out in a dream and unless Brandon Sanderson has found a way to transmit information through brain melds, it's not real.

I get those all the time. The last one I remember was something about the Metallic arts and vegetables I think...

You're a pretty state, but visiting you has always meant visiting my passive aggressive relatives instead of going on a REAL vacation, so....sorry about this. :P

Also, if this is the universe where Obliteration dates a librarian, is there any chance of Obliteration getting that librarian a job first?

It's not your fault but ours... and that means there's nothing you can do.

Sure but then she was jobless, because he blew up the place. :P

Hear that, Kobold? That's the sound of an Obliteration pony comic begging to be made.
