Kobold King he/him Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Oh sweet. I was bracing myself for the moment in Calamity when I said "....crap, Funtimes should've been a precog and Koschei should've had Backtrack's powers." And Backtrack should have had Steelheart's capabilities. That would have been awkward. On a completely unrelated note I am now creating an Epic called Vin with metal manipulating powers, no one will ever guess what her weakness is. Um... would it activate if I sealed her in a bunker with no companions, as a wild, completely un-informed guess? 2
Voidus Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Um... would it activate if I sealed her in a bunker with no companions, as a wild, completely un-informed guess? Nooooooo.... What would make you think that? Note to self: make sure Vin makes assassinating Kobolds characters a top priority. 2

Potentially a lot more so. Except for the sleazy comments, but hey, we'd just have to make sure Deathwish lost this one. 3

Particularly since Vin has been flying enough to know that she needs to wear pants while doing so, thus significantly limiting Deathwish's creep factor. Also I'd be giving her short-term precog abilities to simulate Atium so she'd be able to shut down his cheesy pick up lines before he even delivers them 2

Kobold King he/him Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 "Oh hi, Vin. I--" "Not to interrupt, but do you need an ice pack for that black eye?" "I don't have a black eye, sweetheart." "Whoops. Must have left my atium on." * POW * 5

Kobold King he/him Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Counter-intuitively, an atium-burning Deathwish would spiral into crippling depression when he looks at a pretty woman and discovers that there is literally no possible future in which she'd sleep with him. 5

The same is true of Nighthound who realizes that there is no future in which he isn't dead or one in which there is no 'Nighthound died' festival. 1
Blackhoof Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Well I rejected Shiny's idea of an Eva styled costume utilizing autumn leaves, so I instead concentrated on an dress once she finally became Winter Galss, totally an Epic, utilizing a snowflake motive as well as a long train designed to be held up by localized whirlwinds. So she'd basically be Elsa? Ah, that makes sense, economically at least. So items that have greater potential force of impact are worth more then? well items that are more useful to more people are worth more, and are in shorter supply, are worth more. Things like weapons and other technology probably aren't worth much, since Arsenal can make them on the spot as required, but for normal civilians I'm not sure what he would make.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Huh, Neverthere is spying on the Dominion. I suppose that means the Dominion should actually start doing something. Also, if Neverthere were to be spotted, wouldn't Streetwise be able to find her body? Assuming it's in Portland city limits?
Voidus Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Huh, Neverthere is spying on the Dominion. I suppose that means the Dominion should actually start doing something. Also, if Neverthere were to be spotted, wouldn't Streetwise be able to find her body? Assuming it's in Portland city limits Only if you want them to But then again, Portland hasn't been getting much attention lately so yes, that's absolutely what it means and if they don't then everyone will die because er... Because Neverthere will tell Obliteration that the dominion made fun of his glasses? Probably, but she's mostly gonna be inside of walls and the ground so she's not too worried about being spotted and she's not entirely clear on how Streetwises ability works, she'd be pretty likely to assume he's just an astral projector like her. If Streetwise could see her inside a wall or you particularly feel like someone else spotting her that's fine with me, she would peek out occasionally to try to get some more visual information but it'd look mostly just like a piece of mist seeping momentarily from the wall.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 No, I don't want Streetwise to see her, because the only logical end result would be Corpsemaker blackmailing her to join the dominion, and I don;t think that's what you;re planning on her doing. I'll try to get a Corpsemaker Post up sometime tomorrow. Speaking of Tomorrow, I'll be attending the Portland Signing with friends. Any specific questions from the FUNTIMES list you guys want answered?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 But what if Neverthere wound up blackmailed by every major faction in Portland? Lucky duck. I'd put in a vote for asking whether a repeat of the initial trauma would set off an Epic's weakness, but definitely go with the question that receives the most votes.

Any specific questions from the FUNTIMES list you guys want answered? She's not without escape plans, if he put enough effort into it Corpsemaker could probably catch her but she is pretty practiced at avoiding being captured. And I generally prefer not to plan out my characters too much, there are some vague plans for Nighthound to track her down but that could actually work out even better if he saves her from the Dominion it serves the purpose even more. But basically I'd rather not use plot armour to keep her hidden if Streetwise should see her.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I was just going to use plot Armour to prevent Streetwise from seeing her, but a subplot that casts Nighthound as the Knight saving the Damsel? That's Hilarious. I would be down for causing that.

She'd make a joke about being so popular then promptly insult corpsey, wardy and 'that nerdy one' and vanish into mist again. After all whenever you think you've captured her she's never there.

My soul was completely crushed by Nighthound's First post. So that stuff just amuses me now. Speaking of, does anyone know where I can get a new Soul? There is a correct answer to this question, but I doubt anyone will get it. 2

Depends on your shoe's size, mine are pretty big and there's this great repair shop that will fit a new sole in for... Oh, right, wrong soul. Can I show you into the nearest Dark Alley then? 1
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Are you offering me some spikes or attempting to steal my powers? Would Hemalurgy work on Epics? 2
Voidus Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Are you offering me some spikes or attempting to steal my powers? Would Hemalurgy work on Epics? Yes. I am definitely doing one of those. Probably not since they wouldn't have any spiritual bind points.
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 First of: Seeing it now, well... it was like finding out Santa's workshop was filled with forced child labor and had a nasty sewage problem. Sam is now the new David, just that she's better at it then he is. On the plus side if she was a High Epic (Which she almost certainly would be) it'd make her nigh-impossible to kill and difficult for anyone to even discover her weakness, so immortal Vin ftw! I suppose best bet to get her would be to ridge a trap. Oh sweet. I was bracing myself for the moment in Calamity when I said "....crap, Funtimes should've been a precog and Koschei should've had Backtrack's powers."Most Epic weaknesses are pretty sad when you think about them. Even Fortuity, King of the Chulls, has a weakness that hints at a past that makes you want to give him a hug. (Not anymore, obviously--you relinquish your right to hugs when you start murdering for the lolz, but before, maybe.) Or that moment Nighthound should have been an eldritch abdomination. Speaking of Tomorrow, I'll be attending the Portland Signing with friends. Any specific questions from the FUNTIMES list you guys want answered? Huh, I can remember a joke question about wheter or not Obliteration still writes the Dresden Files or other books, apart from that maybe ask him what the powers of that Backbreaker Epic he mentioned in Firefight are or what events that lead to Nightwielder's weakness. Edge? Thoughts? She'd make a joke about being so popular then promptly insult corpsey, wardy and 'that nerdy one' and vanish into mist again. After all whenever you think you've captured her she's never there. Sure, fine by me. Although, I guess that would also mean that Neverthere would have to be relocated, either in some kind of secret compartment in the MONA or outside the city.Joe, already an idea who Corpsemaker would send? Why is it always the bad boys and the bad girls that get all the affection. 2
Voidus Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 She's got the range that it doesn't really matter where she is, she's mostly only in the city because I wanted there to be some potential for someone to find her.
