We can be darkeyes protecting light eyes. (Even if I do have blue eyes). I like the Featherblades, or Feathertips for the spearmen. We can have feathers tied around the top of our spears and feathers on the shoulders of our uniforms.

Renarin's laugh making the spheres glow just a little bit brighter...Feather, how do you do it? Each chapter you write is fantastic and each chapter also has one or two lines that hits me right in the feels and I love it.

Shallan is "seducing" Renarin, poor boy, if he follow the example of his father he have no chance of escape. What is good thing because there are hardly a better thing to make someone try better himself like have to strive to conquist someone.

I almost can see Renarin doing something awesome and dropping many jaws in the process. =)

Just a warning, I have to put this fic on pause while I work on my Secret Santa fic, so this may be the last Shallarin for a little while. (Hopefully not for too long though! I have plans for these two... plans....)

 

I will post the Secret Santa fic here once the reveal has happened (because I don't want to give away to my person that I'm the one that filled their prompt, of course! Heads up, it will be Mistborn themed!

Oooh, thank you so much! =) Speak of the cover…I think I can specifically do a cover for you! The former pieces are too much sketches and I need to take things more seriously haha. This time with watercolor not PS! Once I finish it, I'll send it to you and you may use it wherever you want! (We can also talk about it via tumblr message, something like what you'd like to be presented on the cover.)

Aaaaaaaah?! That would be so incredible! Botanica you are the most amazing person ever! That's super exciting!

 

Oh, and for the rest of you guys, it's only tangentally related, and it's not Cosmere, but I do kind of have another story-ish thing. Me and some other members of the tumblr Cosmere fandom are in the middle of a Fate Core RP campaign set in the Pacific Rim universe. We play a group of black market criminals called the "Sydney Scroungers" set in Sydney Australia before the events of the film, so there's no spoilers or anything. My character is a wanted AI programmer named Sylvie Mansen, who got kicked out of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps after almost killing herself trying to sneak in and pilot a Jaeger after-hours. So... she's now on the run from the law and trying to make a living in the underworld. 

 

I'm keeping track of what's going on in our sessions and adapting them out into fics. I'm a little behind, (I've only done four sessions, and we just finished session eight tonight) but they've gotten really good recently and I'm going to try to get those out so you guys can be excited with me! Honestly, I'm on the edge of my seat to see what happens next and typing these up is the closest I can get until we have another session!

One thing I thought of that would be so so awesome, is if someone artistically inclined drew a sweet blade and spear we could use in our sigs to Identify fellow Featherblades and Feather tips.

If anyone wants to do this, I will praise you forever! I tried but my drawing skills are not so good. My ideas were a sword with a feather design on the hilt and a spear with feathers hanging from beneath the point. With Alethi script saying Feather/Featherblade/Feathertip on the blade and on the handle of the spear.

Edit: I can do the correct Alethi if needed

It's kinda specific, but anyone who does this will have my eternal praise! :)

Bringing the thread back from the dead! The signature probably explains how I got here, but ignore that. Because I have just started the fanfics.

First, a disclaimer: generally speaking, I don't like fan fiction. I haven't read fan fiction in years, because of a gradual disillusionment, for a variety of reasons. That's not a judgement on any writing, it's an acknowledgement of the bias and baggage I bring to fan-based work.

I just finished the first, untitled Renarin story. It's short, but being built as an alternate scene, of course it is. You're working within the confines of Brandon's world. I liked it. In particular, I liked how the scene plays different because of whose head we're in. Renarin is certain of Dalinar's scorn, which isn't present in Dalinar's actual POVs. It actually reminds me a tad more of ASOIAF than WoK, but that's a personal tick. Because it's so short, there's a lot of sadness in that ending.

So, yes, I liked it. I like that sort of short, sharp punch.

Ah! I'm so glad you liked the Renarin short story! (even though it's weird and in present tense and bleh.) Fun fact, I actually have lots of trouble writing in past tense now because Sydney Scroungers has ruined me.

 

Aaaand... that's also why I haven't been writing fanfic because Sydney Scroungers has consumed my life and I'm sorry but it's so great and I love to be a part of it and the whole group is fantastic and everyone should read it forever and ever.
