I was thinking about how much trouble Kaladin had with basic lashings and I started thinking of ways that accidents could happen with surges. I imagine Dalinar kicking a tree and having it bend and spring back or a Dustbringer blowing up a canteen of water. Please post other ideas here.

Constantly using Abrasion accidentally, causing you to fall/trip (at least you won't get back ache from constantly falling due to Stormlight heals)

Edgedancer gets hurt, and tries to Regrow themselves because stormlight was taking too long.

Suddenly strangled by vines.

To come back to Kaladin, falling into the sky and having your stormlight run out before you could come back down far enough. Depending on the height, that could very well be deadly.

I'm waiting for Kal to try wind-running while seriously drunk. That would go wrong in all kind of exciting directions.

Full-lash-spray a wall with a vast amount of stormlight and then accidentally lean against it (assuming the unlucky Windrunner/Bondsmith has not discovered that he or she can draw sprayed stormlight back yet).

You can't really get drunk when you have stormlight. Or at least it is pretty hard.

Same windrunner tries to lash a chasmfiend to the sky and accidentally full lashes his hand to it.

However much investiture that is worth, it certainly doesn't stop shardblades. When you can presumably block those even with a sufficiently awakened tablecloth.

Do we know if we could? Can a Radiant get drunk?

Probably not. Stormlight heals and prevents death even when you should die, so I think it would heal the body from toxins. There is precedence for it magic to view alcohol as poison.

Warbreaker:

Lightsong proved that returned can't get drunk.

Hmmm that's a thought. Irrelevant as I never thought we were bond to see drunk Kaladin, but still a fun fact. Elhokar can keep on being the drunk one then.

I think they probably can, providing they don't have any stormlight in them. I guess as soon as they breathe in any, it would automatically be purged from them. (woo no hangover!)

It kind of depends, healing works by restoring you to the state you think is your natural. An alchoholic probably couldnt heal from being drunk.

What spren would bond an alcoholic, I can see highspren bonding junkies but alcoholics seem farfetched

Rosharian Hancock time!  Remember kids, don't drink and fly!

I do believe pewterarms and bloodmakers can drink indefinitely and still be sober as well. At least until they turn off their powers.

Why? Being addicted to alcohol does not take one's honor away. The way I see it, it would be something akin to Kaladin's depression, a sickness of the mind that must be battled, but not something that would push most spren away. Maybe an elsecaller or skybreaker spren would disaprove, since that would make it harder for the Radiant to keep a level head and be rational or impartial.

And why a highspren, of all things, would bond a junkie? They are probably one of the spren types who would care about that.

It was a really bad pun.

Oh. Sorry, english is not my native language, so sometimes puns, good or bad, are lost on me. That still does not explain why you think alcoholics can't be Radiants.

Unless that was part of the joke. I hate puns.
