Silverblade5 he/him Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Am I the only one who is still slightly baffled that Twi's parents plan on dropping by, rather than making her make the trip to see them? As always...sympathy. Good luck with job hunting, and even better luck at running into the distance shouting "I'm free, I'm free!" Smeagul is free! 1
mail-mi he/him Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I learned today that my full backpack weighs enough that it turns on the "Please put your seatbelt on" beeper when I put in the passenger seat. 2
TCshard Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Didn't you say that most libraries wouldn't accept you because you weren't as qualified? The only way to get a better job is to start from the bottom, it may be hard to hear but if you want to get far far away you might have to accept doing something's you don't like.
TCshard Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I learned today that my full backpack weighs enough that it turns on the "Please put your seatbelt on" beeper when I put in the passenger seat. My friend told me that if your backpack weighs more than 10% of your body weight you might develope back problems over a long period of time. Sorry for double post, phone won't let me edit quote.

I've been applying for everything. I haven't been picky here.

Sorry for double post, phone won't let me edit quote. Problem: how do I bring all my textbooks without it being as heavy as storms when I'm a senior in high school that is on college campus for all classes, and because of that the high school won't let me have a locker? (They have good reason for it; the entire high school is a hallway. There's not enough lockers for the seniors who are on campus all day. )
Left he/him Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I had some thoughts that needed to be written out, so I wrote an extra blog post this week. I just finished it, if your interested in it but can't find it in my profile or member blogs section, than pm or reply to this and I'll give you a link.
Kestrel she/her Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I have that issue with my calc book. My first class at my community college was Tuesday, and I was reading ahead in the book the entire time. For whatever reason calc just makes sense, in a way that other subjects sometimes don't.What 1
Guest Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 My next class is tomorrow. I'm already salivating.

The problem comes in trying to carry all that weight on your back; a tiny carryon suitcase type bag that rolls on the ground will alleviate that.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Mom. Please stop searching for jobs for me. I know you probably think you're helping, but you're ONLY looking for jobs within a few hours of Spokane. There's a message here. And the fact you never asked if I wanted you to do this before you started tells me you think it's a favor and won't respond kindly if I ask you to stop.So if you'll excuse me, I'll be rethinking my vow to not look at anything in California. Edit: Ugh, who am I kidding? I'm never going to get a decent-paying job before the house sells. No, it hasn't sold yet, but mark my words, it'll sell next week and I'll have no choice but to take the stupid Liberty Lake job and live at home. Or maybe I won't even get that job and I'll be stuck in my parents' basement forever. "Cast a wider net," she says. I am, and nobody's going to want to hire me, okay? Darkness Ascendant he/him Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I have no idea what's going on. Different continents guys!!!

I know my school flat out doesn't allow them and it's extremely illogical in the crowded halls anyway. You'll take up too much space and just make people mad.College is probably different but idk.
Mestiv he/him Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I gave MLP a try and I'm at episode 14... This show is disturbingly entertaining 9

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I don't think there's anything I can say that'll magically make your worries melt away, but I'm sure someone will want to hire you. I'm sure even the places that turned you down wanted to hire you, but simply had people better suited to their openings that they had to go with. You're sure to find a place that fits you perfectly ere too much longer. I gave MLP a try and I'm at episode 14... This show is disturbingly entertaining 4

Go get that feedback from the job you didn't get and use it for your honorably nefarious purposes. Thanks. I just wish my mom would stop talking about it. I mean, I know she's worried that I won't find one before we move, but it's just stressing me out more. And this morning, she said, "I know part of why you want to move far away is because you want to be independent, but you need to understand that even if you live in the same city as us, you won't have to see us any more than you want to." And I want to believe her, I really do, but after 25 years of her and my dad only acknowledging my privacy exists when they feel like it, it's difficult to imagine anything but a future where they use their friends to check up on me, and call me to ask if something's wrong if I haven't met with them in a few weeks. 1

Well, it's ultimately your decision. If you don't trust them, that's not because you're paranoid--from what you've told us, you have every right to disbelieve them at their word. In other randomness, me as a starship captain. 5
