Mestiv he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Any suggestions on which thread should I read now? I've read Corvallis, now I can't decide should I stay with shorter ones like Salem, or plunge into Portland or Dalles madness
Edgedancer he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Any suggestions on which thread should I read now? I've read Corvallis, now I can't decide should I stay with shorter ones like Salem, or plunge into Portland or Dalles madness I'd say go for the Dalles. Also, talking about the Dalles, Backtrack's description in the last excellent Arsenal post braught this to my mind: 2
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Uh.... For my Dalles vanillas, I reconfigured them as officers in the Dalles city guard. What do you want me to do in the first post?
Blaze1616 he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Blaze, thank you very much for the bubble drop time window and legal entrances. I was worried I'd mess something up. Are there any known procedures when entering for the first time? (Still can't decide how to enter ) Well there would be some form of screening prior to the bubble dropping, after which, assuming the individual passes, you'd simply await the bubble drop. Once it does drop, the group allowed to enter would get escorted in and gathered into a location similar to a town square, where either Rainmaker would show up in person to welcome them, or a video feed of her doing so would show up. After that the vanillas would get their assignments and be tagged by Chase, while Epics would receive keys and directions to their new homes, and are likely interviewed by Buttercup (particularly if they choose to work for the government). To delve a little into the screening process, I would imagine the first question is "Are you an Epic? Yes or No." Answering yes pretty much guarantees you entrance, and follow up questions would involve things like, "Would you like to work for the government?" and "Do you have any preference of what your vanilla servants are like?" Answering no to the original question would result in a different set of follow ups, likely involving allergy lists, handicaps, and physical health. Of course this all goes out the window if you enter on your own, away from the "Checkpoints". And I don't think you can "mess up," considering it's a free form RPG. We're all here to have fun.
Blackhoof Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Yeah, usually unless stuff has already been decided and written into the thread, you have freedom to make some things up within the boundaries already set
Voidus Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Quick Dalles post up, I'll try to get something up for Corvallis and Salem soon too. 1
Tyson Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Quick Dalles post up, I'll try to get something up for Corvallis and Salem soon too. Your Cornacopia right? Want to collab? Gunsmoke and Malevolence both have reasonable cause to visit Cornacopia.
Voidus Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Your Cornacopia right? Want to collab? Gunsmoke and Malevolence both have reasonable cause to visit Cornacopia. Yup, I'll need to do a bit of rereading the thread to figure out what Cornucopia should do and it might take a while to get back into her head since it's been a while since I've written her but I'd be happy to collab a meeting.
Edgedancer he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I'd say go for the Dalles. Also, talking about the Dalles, Backtrack's description in the last excellent Arsenal post braught this to my mind: What no one jumping on the opportunity to humiliate Backtrack about how not even squirrels want him? I am disapoint. Quick Dalles post up, I'll try to get something up for Corvallis and Salem soon too. Talking about Mr. Plannykins what are we going to do concerning the scene with Lockvault?

Edgedancer he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Sirce gave me a bunch of information to go through but hopefully I can get something up soon. Alright, take your time. I had enough trouble getting into Big Al and I didn't really need to worry about messing anything up with him.
+Slowswift Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 All that talk about faces reminded me of the restaurant scene from Doctor Who's Deep Breath.
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Who's writing Olivia Cipher's dialogue while Winter's gone?
Edgedancer he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 (edited) All that talk about faces reminded me of the restaurant scene from Doctor Who's Deep Breath. Well we didn't start a face picture market, so there wasn't so much face talk. Who's writing Olivia Cipher's dialogue while Winter's gone? We don't know, just make another commentator, I guess, or leave it blank. Also I went and got the demo of a game called Hollywood Visionary, which starts by having you pitch a movie. This is as close as I came to making a Reckoners movie. A science fiction fantasy based on a book, set on a future earth. It's about a motley group, who must struggle against forces beyond their control. The story's thrilling, intense: it'll have the audience on the edge of their seats, and the cast will be filled with top-notch actors. It didn't let me mention Brandon's name or similies. A more accurate description would be "The pure, unadulterated insanity will either warm their hearts or melt their eyeballs." 1

Edgedancer he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 So update on that Hollywood game, your assistant is wearing a Funtimes' style buisness suit, one of the default names for the pc is Jeager, you have an enstranged sister, that's a horrible person, and can name your niece after the Alethi. Am I the only one seeing this? By the way, if Backtrack is now the squirrel boy, how would he feel meeting marvel's squirrel girl? And a more general question for everyone: How would your characters react meeting standart spandex wearing superhero/ines? 3

Backtrack would be sad because Squirrel Girl is more of a badchull than he'd ever be. Lightwards would think they're fools. Aldo would think they're quite stylish. Vondra would find them pompous and arrogant. Deathwish would have the time of his life when the female heroes come to town. Sam and Revolution would post notices everywhere warning people about the invasion of the supermodel clowns. 2

Funtimes would hug Supergirl and wonder if she was a threat. Nathan would greet Superman politely and wonder if he was going to kill him. Remington would clean his rifle and hope Spiderman got the message. Autumn would smile at Jean Grey and quietly turn on her radio so Vondra would be able to step in if she turned on her. Quota would try to make Hulk cry and be smashed mercilessly. Edited July 22, 2015 by TwiLyghtSansSparkles 2

Well, it's entirely text based so I may have been projecting a bit on the missmatched buttons but here it is https://www.choiceofgames.com/hollywood-visionary/ I see we managed to traumatize Autumn. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I see we managed to traumatize Autumn. Indeed. If she ever becomes an Epic after all, her weakness will be flirtatious redheads.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 I see we managed to traumatize Autumn. Just a little. Indeed. If she ever becomes an Epic after all, her weakness will be flirtatious redheads. She'll be immune to herself, because although she's a redhead, she's not flirtatious. 1
