Spectromixer he/him Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 I finished Persepolis Rising. Now I'm reading Press Reset by Jason Schreier.
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 My head is currently spinning because I just read Siege and Storm in one go. Not bad. I've also finished A Crack in the Edge of the World, so now I'll move onto The Girl From Shadow Springs by Ellie Cypher, and Dustborn by Erin Bowman. I honestly have no idea what they're about, beyond pretty vague summaries, but the covers were super pretty, so...
Draginon he/him Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 Finished Dawnshard. I paced myself by reading a couple chapters a night and not blow through it. This book shows why Rysn is a great character and one of Brandons best ones. I wonder when we’ll see the other three Dawnshards and if they’re on Roshar or on different planets. The sleepless don’t freak me out like they do for some, probably because I like weird creatures like them. I’m really hoping Brandon keeps the whole Lopen speaking the ideals in a non-action worthy way going for the fourth and fifth ideals. Going to restart ROW which I attempted back in November but I wasn’t in the right headspace to read it, I was so burned out and depressed from work so reading war stuff didn’t help and the sudden timeskip took me out of the story in a bad way. Then when it became obvious it was starting to reference stuff from Dawnshard, looking at you Cord and your new shardplate, I had to set it down for later. 1
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 I had the bright idea to just read all my library books at once, so I finished The Girl From Shadow Springs and Dustborn last night. They're both pretty good. I especially liked the narrative choices in The Girl From Shadow Springs.
Spectromixer he/him Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Now I'm reading Fire and Blood by George RR Martin. this should take me a while to get through.
aneonfoxtribute Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 Started listening to The Blade Itself in audio book from the beginning.

NottTheBrave he/him Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 Finished Alloy of Law last night, going to dive into Shadows of Self soon! 1
urrutiap Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 just started reading these to keep me busy up to June Paul of Dune Star Wars Jedi Academy book 2 Dark Apprentice Hyperion 2 aka Fall of Hyperion
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 I read The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. It was a really fast read, I was a bit surprised, even though I should have expected it.
Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 I just finished Land of Stories: a Grim Warning, but now I am starting Ambush by Obert Skye.
urrutiap Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Currently reading Paul of Dune along with Dune Messiah so far the first 88 pages of Paul of Dune been pretty good
Orlion Blight he/him Posted May 29, 2021 Posted May 29, 2021 Just finished Ms Marvel Army of One (essentially #1-12 of vol 2)
Ammanas Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Re listening to Master of Sorrows by Justin Call to prepare for Master Artificer which just came out. This is shaping up to be a amazing series that nobody is really talking about. You know from the first words of the book (a prophecy) that the main character is supposed to become this Dark Lord and he is likable enough so it’s about his journey to get there. I love it when authors invert tropes in interesting ways. The magic school aspect, prose, and leisurely pace remind me a bit of Name of the Wind. I personally feel these books so far is better but for some reason some books get really popular and some don’t.
NottTheBrave he/him Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Planned on Shadows of self, but felt compelled to try Assassin’s Apprentice. Really digging it so far, 120ish pages in. 1
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Finally got The Dragon Reborn! About 100 pages in. I really enjoy Perrin's POV.
Briar King Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 In a bit of Gaunt’s Ghost burn out despite loving it so I’ve put it as my minor daily read and picked up Dreamblood Omni as my main as of last night and I really needed it I realize. I’ve made some descent progress in just one day vs only being able to read 3 or 4 pgs a day the last few weeks on Gaunt.
Draginon he/him Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Almost to the end of part 1 of ROW. Finally in a good headspace to be reading this since I was in a bad depression state when it had released. Loving all the Navani love so far in this book since I love that woman. 1
Stranger Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Almost done with The Dragon's Path, and I'm like 20% of the way in with Under Heaven. It's my second Guy Gavriel Kay book, and I was disappointed a lot by the Lions of Al-Rassan. I think I'm liking this better though, I'll have to see where this is going. I'm reading on the side, Golden Son, The Last Wish, and The Darkness That Comes Before. I'm also like 90% done with The Burning White and The Steel Remains. My thoughts on the former. Spoiler Incredibly disappointed by this final book... I really loved the first 4 books...

Hide contents Incredibly disappointed by this final book... I really loved the first 4 books... I've read a few by Guy Gavriel Kay and of them the only one that I think rises above middling is Tigana. that one I actually want to reread, the rest, while fine, i wouldn't bother picking up again. Though I don't recall Under Heaven, so I don't think i've picked up that one.
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted June 8, 2021 Posted June 8, 2021 Finished The Dragon Reborn, DNF'd So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish, and have started and am about halfway through Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I've read it once before, but it was years ago, so I don't remember much of it.
