Koloss are useful assuming you can control them. I would rather have Lifeless because you can have complete control over them. The problem with Koloss is a skilled mistborn or a team of soothers can take control of them from you. Also if you want to make your enemies afraid with lifeless just take enemy civilians and soldiers and turn them into lifeless.

Well a Powerfull Awakener may broke the Lifeless's command. But I suppose we talk about ArmiesVS Armies without any Powerfull magic user to create chaos to the other army.

About the cost (in Breath) to make a Lifeless, seems that is constant. Probably because every elegible to became a Lifeless was a very living bein.

I am not sure about the Breath needed to create a Lifeless in Warbreaker era. But probably isn't much meaning full. Here we talk about an efficent army and we may suppose that they use the more efficient command also if the performance of the Lifeless is a bit less.

With Lifeless, their skill seems to depend on their skill in life, and it seems unlikely that whoever is commanding the Lifeless found an army of corpses that all happened to be dead soldiers. The koloss, on the other hand, seem to be roughly equal in their skill level. Also, Lifeless have few advantages besides ignoring wounds until they bleed to death or suffer a fatal wound and the inability to feel fear or the need to eat. Thus, the battle would be roughly similar to the army of koloss fighting an army of men, since their blows usually result in death or serious maiming.

Lifeless.  You can order lifeless to fight in formations,  and use various tactics.  Koloss are pretty binary,  sedated or berserk.

I suppose that the Lifeless are very unflexible to the change in the battlefield.

This is true, a lifeless of a skilled warrior, had just a bit of the former skill.

The only example of a true fearsome Lifeless is Clod. But He is a Lifeless made from an Superhuman that boost his physical power and with a great extra amount of Breath that give him a greater degree of this former skill.

I don't think they'd have to be.  They respond to commands,  I see no reason you couldn't send out a change in a similar way to a human army.  You'd just need the human runners etc.

Sending runners to the battlefield . . . against koloss.

I'm not working for your army that's for sure.

Well it's slightly better than being a runner for the Koloss army :P

The difference is, they can't change tactics anyway so they only need to be told where to go to murder things, i.e. when calm.

If I run for a lifeless army, when they need me the koloss will be in frenzy.

but this also means a koloss army is very predictable. your lifeless shouldn't need to change tactics very often. just keep a reserve force or two back that you can send out where needed and that might suffice

In the same sense that a hurricane is predictable. I'd still get the hell out of the way if i saw one.
