Most folks responded well to her cleavage.

Apparently, Vondra wasn’t most folks.

The parallelism here is killing me.

Excellent post! I suspected that Shiny would be too dim-witted to take any of the threats seriously, but it seems the news about Autumn actually hit her rather hard.

That sounds... omnious.

You mean Backtrack didn't accidentally swallow them after Scribbler shrank them? Darn. :P

….er, I mean, poor Shiny. :(

We expect nothing less.

It does, doesn't it? Makes sense, though. American Epics were facing down a populace that knew the law wouldn't come to their aid, so they were more inclined to just let the Epics do what they wanted. Canadian Epics, on the other hand, were going up against a populace that still believed the law would do what it could to help them, and so were more inclined to fight back. Which would've made takeovers like Annexation far more hostile, since the Epics leading said takeover would've used more force than their American counterparts in an effort to break the populace before they fought back.

I see we have a happy customer. B)

As mentioned before the real problem with her isn't her sleaziness (not that I'm defending that part of her) but how delusional she is.

Just seemed most fitting, given that Autumn not giving them a second thought is actually what happened. :P

True, a decisive victory does cause less damage to everything than a drawn out war... even if the victors really shoudn't have won.

Yeah. At least Deathwish is capable of recognizing his own limits and acting accordingly. Shiny Sparkle was not only 100% certain that a random woman had fallen in love with her after five minutes in the same room, but she also seems to believe she could single-handedly take on the entire Dalles City Guard. I mean, she could blow up Vondra and his gun, but she's deluded if she thinks she'll spot and explode every single gun that's pointed at her afterwards. Eventually, she'd miss one...

On the other hand, at least she's actually hurt to find that Autumn doesn't like her, unlike a certain sleazy biker Epic, who only finds women more appealing that way.

The one advantage she has over Deathwish is that because under all her insanity she does care about the people she has a thing for, so coupled with the right person that doesn't mind her advances and has the spine to tell her when she's doing something stupid it would be possible that have her act as... a productive member of society.

Oh, she doesn't think about she could take on the entire city on her own, it's only Vondra and his revolver she doesn't see as a threat.

By the way, it kind of went under but I don't think Orange Crush will have much succes with his approach,  especially after he already had to deal with Shiny Sparkle.

Oh and just because it seems on topic. Uncle Vondra towards Epics:

No, probably not, no.

Thoreau would ramble for hours about that. <_< (Am I the only one who thought he sounded like a poser in Civil Disobedience?)

McKeedee and I are still talking over how it will go.

True, Vondra does lean a little on the totalitarian side sometimes. :P To be fair, every other city in North America is an Epic-run hell hole, so I think we can all see where he's coming from at least. :P

It's actually pretty lucky he didn't get shoot after shouting threats. For some reason bringing someone like that right to Vondra doesn't seem like it's in the city charter.

He probably would, although the exsistence of Epics tends to throw most philosophies on their head.

McKeedee and I actually talked about that. I said he should be shot in the head halfway through his "Five seconds and I--" speech, but McKeedee was understandably reluctant to allow that to take place. :P Instead we simply worked it so one of the Guards recognized him as a non-threat.

Good point about him being brought to Vondra. There will definitely be reprimand and possibly some discipline.

Uh oh. Did it come out that way? I was hoping it wouldn't look like Deus ex Machina.

The way I tried to portray the scene, Fawkes wasn't feeling too threatened by Crush's display, interpreting it correctly as a bluff intended to get the man some respect. What he actually wants, after all, is simply to be taken back to base. That's practically protocol anyway.

She'll play along and give him what he wants for now, seeing as there's simply no point in aggravating him. She'll let her superiors deal with his attitude, once he gets back.

Though honestly, once ge gets back, he probably won't have an attitude. His feeling of humiliation will wear off pretty quickly now that he percieves that his personage is being respected

They released the first trailer for DC's Suicide Squad today, but there's a shot that appears for just a split second that makes me think they accidentally released a frame from the What Happened in Oregon trailer.

Yeah, that looks like a trailer for this RP. :P

By the way, what would happen if Deathwish punched himself in the face?

If WHIO were a movie, no trailer would be necessary. Just a poster of that image and directions to the nearest movie theater. :P

Um... Hypno would keep saying "Stop hitting yourself" over and over again? :P More seriously, his healing factor can repair self-inflicted wounds, though obviously there's no damage reflection. It's pretty much the same as when he crashes through buildings and heals himself.

No kidding. :P

Shame. I was hoping he'd wind up hitting himself twice, though it does make sense that his powers compensate for that loophole.

Though we should probably hint at Nighthound's presence in the movie somehow, or else people will sue us for springing him on them unawares.:P

Well, unless he hit himself hard enough to draw blood he'd feel just as much pain as anyone else. Does that help?

Oh! We could have a frame that says "We are legally obligated to show you these:" followed by quick shots if everyone on the ATTD List, but especially Nighthound, Timeport, and Iconoclast.

I suppose. <_<:P

This makes me wonder whether WHIO could scrape by with a PG-13 rating, or whether we'd immediately be rated R for the ATTD list.

What can I do to assuage your disgruntled feelings, Twi? :P

Well, the MPAA is wonky enough that the filmmakers could probably shave a few seconds off problematic scenes here and there and avoid an R rating. Then again, it's the ATTD List we're talking about.

A WHOOC where people can punch themselves in the face and have it reflect onto Deathwish?:P

All locations need their local nightmare fuel, don't they. :P

Maybe money is his weakness.

I have a question of opinion for the public, while it hasn't been decided yet I think it is rather clear that Shiny Sparkle's conversation with Vondra will go south and I see her neither sticking around after it was made clear to her that she has no chances with Autumn, coupled with guns pointed at her nor turning into an atagonist for the location (although both is possible in theory), which leaves me wih two options that are viable: Take/follow Backtrack and MV to Portland, tecnically I like this option better, as it keeps a fluent narritive and I feel there are more characters that her personality would play of well there but the location is already pretty full. Otherwise I think Corvallis would be the best fit for her.

Now, while it's entirely possible I'm giving this thought long before neccesary or that the conversation somehow resolves in a way that will lead to her staying in the Dalles (I'm certainly not going to push the situation in any direction aside the one it's going to naturally develop towards) but I just thought that getting puplic opinion wouldn't hurt.

If you realize that Altermind will be annoyed to heck and behind with her, fine. Just know that. He might use her, but he won't be heartbroken if she accidentally appears where Voidgaze is obliterating things.

Is the plan from our PM still a go?

Probably. I can arrange for something to happen to him. Removing his glasses alone would cause a complete emotional breakdown.
