Joe ST he/him Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 It's that kinda time when I think of some wacky idea for the boards. All you need to do is take a picture of your books, whether they be on shelves, in piles, or propping open windows. As long as they're not on fire, take pictures of them and share with us your collection so we may wallow in jealousy at your awesome tomes. And yes, I will find time to take pictures of my own meagre shelves, if only I had a camera. 5
TheChronicFeruchemist she/her Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 This is awsome sauce. I love the extended editions, (I think that my parents and I should have known I wanted to go into special effects when I demanded the extended editions for all the extra footage.) My bookshelf at college is sadly lacking (there are ten books on it tops.) and dominated by my alter.
FlashWrogan he/him Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Love this idea! Unfortunately my bookshelf that contains all my good books is 3 hours away at my parents house. My bookshelf out here at school only has nursing textbooks (i'm relegated to audiobooks and ebooks out here). I'll take a picture of it when I go home in a few weeks.
Tamzin Ashevai she/her Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 While I very much appreciate the notion and like the idea, I have far too many bookcases to take pics of and post here! 2
JamesW he/him Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) This was my bookcase before I moved, after the move those books are now all in boxes... Edited May 5, 2013 by JamesW 3
Tamzin Ashevai she/her Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Just what exactly is included in that bookcase? I mean ... is that a bottle of nail polish remover and a plastic bag of cotton balls? 2
JamesW he/him Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Yes yes it is. My fiancee kept that stuff right next to the bed, which you can see the corner of in the right side of the picture. Also included: 1 Plushie Christmas piggy from Angry Birds 2 Hourglasses that run upward 1 Razer mouse 1 Teemo Hat 1 Gift box containing 2 bowls from our Japanese exchange student 1 Tin Whistle (for music and stuffs) And various other pieces of junk. 1
TheChronicFeruchemist she/her Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 This be my bookcase. It is kind of messy. But it is mine, and I'm not sure what is going to happen to it when I move this summer. I'm hoping it will fit. We shall find out today. (Also please pardon my girly books. Sometimes I just need to read some drama that isn't my own.)
Straff Venture he/him Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Yeah, here's mine. It's filled with odd stuff I've picked up over the years so it's not fantasy-heavy to my shame XD Also, I'm getting scared by the amount of people with multiple bookcases
Windborne Sword he/him Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 These are my bookshelves. However that's only a small amount of my books a lot of them are in boxes in the attic. 1
HearMonicaRoar she/her Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Oooh I love this topic. I'm happy this will be my first post. Here's my collection: I see a lot of familiar books on all your shelves 3
little wilson she/her Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 And here is mine: That's most of my books. But not all. It's also most of my movies. But not all. You might not be able to see some of the books behind some of the knick-knacks/statues/pictures. Sorry about that. I don't have much in the way of flat surfaces in my room. Make do with what I got.
firstRainbowRose she/her Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 I like a lot of your books. You have good taste. Also, Josh and I have too many bookshelves to take a picture of each of them. (Seriously. We have four that I can see just where I'm sitting. Six if I move a little bit. And those are just in the front area of the apartment.) However, considering what site this is, we figured we'd show you the "good stuff": 16
little wilson she/her Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 I envy this ^^ collection. And yes. It is amazing. And not just the Brandon stuff. The first time I walked into their apartment, my reaction was "Holy. Crap! Books. I want." Seriously. I couldn't speak. I could hardly form thought in my head. All I could do was ogle. So ogle I did. And no, I'm not being facetious.
firstRainbowRose she/her Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 It's always great to have someone else back up what I say. Also, you have yet to see the entire *book collection, it's that big. edited: she saw the entire Brandon collection. It's mostly in the pics (we've gotten maybe one or two things since, but she's seen those too.) 1
callumke he/him Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 You guys have a British hardcover for the way of kings? Those are really rare! I had to track one down through ebay. ...why do you have 5 copies of the way of kings between you? I mean, its awesome, but I didn't realise it was that awesome...
firstRainbowRose she/her Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Because Josh had decided he's going to collect them. ...also, we have 8 copies. Our release party copies (1 and 2), Josh has a second hardback copy number 1337 (which is part of another collection. All of his number books are that number). We each have our own paperback copies (so we aren't destroying our super nice numbered copies), and then Josh has an ARC and his British copy, and the Thai edition (you can see it next to the Elantris audiobooks. in the third picture.)
Windrunner he/him Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Wow, Mi'ch. Umm, I'm pretty sure you guys win the Brandon fandom xD
HearMonicaRoar she/her Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Wow, bravo! That's an incredible collection. *slow clap*
Gamma Fiend he/him Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 (edited) A lot of King books (dark Tower and affiliated works) and then of course the Wheel of Time.Need to save up some money then I'll pick up Mistborn and start collecting Stormlight Archive as they come out.Edit: just realized I'm still missing my 5 Song of Ice and Fire books... I need to get those back soon. Almost time for a reread. Edited January 28, 2014 by Gamma Fiend
Peng the Just he/him Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 @rainbow 7 copies of way of kings? I'm jealous...
Leonardus he/him Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Well these are my bookshelves although around a quarter of my books are missing, that are sprawled or lost somewhere in the house. And by the way the dragon guards my books from sticky fingered people. Edited January 29, 2014 by Leonardus 1
FeatherWriter she/her Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Well, it's not my whole bookshelf... but I am rather proud of this little snippet here: Why... yes I own 13 mistborn books. Why do you ask? From left to right: RPG, Alloy, Original Trilogy (English), Original Trilogy (Japanese) [5/9], Original Trilogy (French) 5
TheShogun he/him Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) So this one: is mine. But I live with my parents and these two: are what they've been working on for a long time and recently finished. Edited January 31, 2014 by TheShogun 1
