Edgedancer he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I'm still worried about the possibility of Nighthound and Deathwish getting a Kong. But yeah, cellphone autocorrect is bad enough without worrying about translations. I once had my phone decide I wanted to say something about "middle chull white people" instead of "middle class white people." Shiny Sparkle strikes me as someone who values practicality to a degree, so while the thong is probably out, short shorts might not be. Yeah, I saw it got pretty long. I've started an episode of Writing Excuses on worldbuilding, since it's shorter, although I listened to the Major Spoilers guys talking about choosing a genre. Fate sounds pretty versatile. I might turn that into a WHOOC once I caught up with everything here. Short shorts would be completly possible, although it's probably going to be to cold for them rather soon... tecnically. It does, making some research into that system did go on my list. Also good choice listening to writing excuses, they give soome pretty good advice. 2

Nighthound would probably have more fun with slontzey!Deathwish, though it might be amusing to have redeemed!Deathwish duel Nighthound while sobbing his eyes out…. ….maybe that calls for a WHOOC of its own. Yeah…."It Gets Hot in The Dalles" isn't the best slogan, really, since it's really only hot for a few months. The rest of the year, it's just as cool as the rest of Oregon. I've been trying to figure out the whys and wherefores of worldbuilding, since I've been trying to build an original fiction story but I keep getting caught up in the research that I have done and the research I can't do because everyone wants to write about New York or London or Berlin or Stalingrad in the 1940s but no one cares what was going on in Spokane. They do give some pretty good advice, though. 1

Probably has something to do with them being profesionals. (Things I found out about the Fate system today: the core rules are apparently free for download in PDF format or pay whatever you want, kind of what Brandon did with Warbreaker.) 1
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I might turn that into a WHOOC once I caught up with everything here. What building would their Kong climb, though? There isn't exactly a convenient Empire State Building to swat airplanes from the top of. Yeah…."It Gets Hot in The Dalles" isn't the best slogan, really, since it's really only hot for a few months. Clearly Snowfall pulls all the cold air away from Oregon solely because he likes seeing all the female Epics there wearing shorts and tank tops. The slontze. 1

(I have multiple options in my head including Arsenal or Lucentia creating something for it to climb.) So... Snowfall is a DC fan? (A comic book geek going Epic must be weird.) Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 So... Snowfall is a DC fan? (A comic book geek going Epic must be weird.) That was basically my idea for Ferv. (Also I'm pretty sure the first lorists were the same people that write the ridiculously detailed wikipedia articles about superheroes. ) Of course, Snowfall isn't necessarily a DC fan as much as he is a woman fan. If Deathwish had weather controlling powers, The Dalles would be like a steaming hot sauna every day in hopes of pushing Scribbler, Edgerunner, and Autumn into bikinis. ...though his plan might backfire if Vondra showed up for work in sandals and a pair of swim trunks. 2

Or Arsenal showed up in a Speedo. By the way, my discovery of this: made me wonder how many more terrible movies and TV shows could be improved by replacing the main cast with pugs. 3

mail-mi he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 While I wouldn't call it op by any means I wouldn't call Timeport style teleportation, aka one that anihilates matter on arival, just another power, given how damnation vertsaile it is. Timeport has some serious limitations on the power and it's still quite powerful. Yeah, it's pretty powerful.
Edgedancer he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) And today we bring you someone saying something nice to Arsenal. I hope you like it. Edited June 3, 2015 by Edgedancer
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 And today we bring you someone saying something nice to Arsenal. I hope you like it. "And then the City Guard happened." I sense a new connecting phrase. 2

Edgedancer he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 You should probably specify what kind of memes. Who says I'm displeased. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 Who says I'm displeased. STORM YOU QUOTA, GOD OF ACCIDENTAL DOWNVOTES!
Fatebreaker he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Ok, got a working mime epic. He will be an underling for Mannequin in Corvallis. Name: Mr. Mime Powers: Anything he mimes becomes real, whether it is a finger gun, safe, etc. The item will become real after a set amount of time. His body fits with the rules of cartoon physics allowing him to be mostly impervious. For example, if he were crushed by an airborne anvil, he would simply flatten out and then escape with no true harm. Weakness: Speaking: If Mr. Mime speaks at all, he will lose all powers and invulnerability. This includes screams of pain or other vocalizations, even if they are forced upon him by other's powers or abilities. Personality: Mr. Mime tends to act aloof and goofy as opposed to serious and does not place much thought into the consequences of his actions. As such, he tends to harm himself with his actions almost as often as he hurts his opponents. He is very observant of danger though and is often the first in a group to notice an issue, not that he can vocalize his observations. This has inspired me to create another Epic: Admiral Acme! Primary: Can summon all sorts of things. Specializes in anvils, mousetraps, and grand pianos. Other goods generally appear in boxes and have a tendency to malfunction. Badly. Secondary: Can gift random abilities by summoning costume pieces, such as the floating hat, or the friction-cancelling pants, or the uncomfortably moist socks! Passive: Very strong, but rather slow healing and semi indestructability. It's hard to pierce his skin, but he flattens easily. He can heal from most injuries, after a conseiderable amount of time spent in pain and discomfort. He still feels pain, but has built up a tolerance to it after years of dropping anvils on his head accidentally. Weakness: Documentaries Appearance: He's white, middle aged. Average height and build, with brown eyes and hair. Wears his navy coveralls from his shipping job, but now his name patch has been replaced with a large silver one that Says Admiral Acme. He also has a cape and a ball cap he wears backwards. His sneakers are never tied. He tends to slouch. Admiral Acme watched too much Looney Tunes as a kid, especially Wile E Coyote and roadrunner. He grew up to work in the shipping department of a large company. Now he uses his powers to try and establish himself as a mighty tyrant. No luck so far... I'm thinking of introducing Magneto I mean a metal manipulating Epic into Salem, to fight someone or other. Name: Lady Deathskull Primary Power: Ferrukinesis: Can manipulate and control any metal, but only within 30 feet of her. Can also, by extension, sense all sources of metal within 60 feet of her. Secondary Power: Flight: Can fly at a maximum pace of 60km/h and is immune to any negative effects of flying at that speed (wind in her eyes doesn't bother her) but can only rise to a maximum of 60 feet with this power. Weakness: A specific pattern of diamond shapes on her carpet that she was looking at when she was being beaten to within an inch of her life by her drug-addled daughter and her daughter's drug-pushing boyfriend. Appearance: She wears tight-fitting metal armour that encases her whole body, that she moves with her powers as she walks. The helmet of the armour bears a skull-like visage, and she also wears a long, high-collared red cape with black trim. It'd be cool to have her face off against Quicksilver. 2
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 That guy is so cuckoo. I mean seriously, who in their sane mind names themself something weird like that. Everybody in Oregon. Nice Epic.
Comatose he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Um....whatever you say the difference is? When I started the WHOOC thread, the FoO thread was practically dead, so I admittedly wasn't thinking about it. I guess since the FoO thread is mostly pony comics, crack shipping, and characters who won't/haven't appeared in-game; while the WHOOC thread is primarily what-if scenarios with existing characters, I guess it makes the most sense to continue on that way. This distinction makes sense to me. WHOOC is for things that are not canon, but happen to canon characters. The Fanfiction thread is necessarily out of canon, since it includes and Fan Fiction not dealing with WHIO characters. For some reason, I think this should happen. Also for some reason, VeggieTales supplies an alternate theme song for Corvallis. Poor Larry! His ball is most definitely gone. I see Rainmaker as the sort who keeps a whole shelf of bright red balls and other toys in her office, just so children can't play with them. Also, I really want to make those three epic flatterers of Rainmaker who shower her with compliments in an epic to gain her favour. As a (sort of) aside does anyone have a running tally of who is all actually on the ATTD list? I know there are some obvious members who are mentioned more frequently, but it might be fun to have an actual list to keep track of things and for our amusement. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 I don't get that song. Why Corvallis? Have you ever hung around a lot of adults (especially those between 45 and 60) who live in gated communities?

Would they have to be Epics? I have a strange vision of a trio of vanillas who stand around with coffee cups all day in her throne room, telling her how awesome the town is, literally singing the praises of whoever the most powerful Epic in the room is. I think Twi had it compiled at one point, though I'll have to do some digging to find it. 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 I did have it compiled a few times, but I haven't been able to find it. Maybe I should just create a new list.
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 With all the trouble I'm having tracking down the ATTD list, I'm beginning to wonder if Quota found a way to purge it from the forum.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 Quota is a slontze. How many times is he on there? (He killed Chess. ) As of the last update, twice. I think Nighthound made it seven or eight times.
