He could have real weeping angels!  :o

He can have a new human body, it just has to be a dead body close by. His original body would die. For this reason, he keeps around five dead vanillas in his deep freezer which is guarded by puppet garden gnomes. Oh yes, and pink lawn flamingos we can't forget those.

I read this like it was ice cream at first.

@Aonar May I have Glutton?

@Edge I could remove his healing, though I hate to do it. Everybody has to promise not to kill him, though, until I've written him more.

Fine by me. I don't have any real plans for him beyond, "extremely creep slontze," so feel free. :P

So I had this idea for Timeport. His body is basically reset in everything except age to "perfect" when he resurrects. So I was thinking that Timeport decides he doesn't need sleep, and just kills himself in the mornings. Thoughts?

Kind of a reverse Purple Phoenix from some of his crazier days, I like it.

It's as completely deranged as it is pragmatic. Perfect for him.

Would he do the same if he got hungry or thirsty? Or got a sore throat? Or stubbed his toe, or got a splinter?

I can do that.

Awesome. Just don't do it until I make the new one. I'll Alan you when it's time.

He likes food, so no. And he also likes proving how "strong" he is, so for little cuts and sores he wouldn't. However, for anything bigger, yes, he would.

:o

It's perfect for him. Absolutely and absurdly perfect. Quota will get a kick out of it.

Also, random side note, looking at my rep level...what the heck is a Gerontarch?

Haha reminds me of the South Park episode Coon vs Coon and Friends when Kenny gets sick of no-one believing he resurrects each morning (since no-one remembers) so he says "*sigh* well I'm a bit tired, I think I might go to sleep" and shoots himself.

Well I guess I owe you another 9 and I owe Twi 90 then :P

Anyone else got anything left to do in Portland besides the attack on the Dominion? I might sneak another Neverthere scene in somewhere

i need to send Flashpoint to the arms dealer, but do you guys think that'd be better in the morning?

Wow. Creepy and perfect. And apparently worth 6 upvotes. :P

Something awesome happened today that I have to share with you guys! So I'm the Editor-in-Chief of my school newspaper/magazine and for a final gift, my adviser and assistant editor arranged for Brandon himself to come to my school and sign a copy of WoR for me and talk with me for ten minutes or so! It was the coolest moment of my life! The bad news is that when he asked if I had any questions, I was still surprised and shocked at seeing him that everything went blank. I couldn't remember a single question from the FUNTIMES list or any of my own. I'm a bit disappointed about that, but it was still really cool!

I want to both congratulate you and ask if you'd be willing to lend me your face in case anything like that ever happens again.

The crowd quiets as they wonder whether Kobold and Twilyght will finally snap and go insane.

Thanks. And of course, you're probably much better at asking questions. :P I was just super surprised, but if I had been planning on it, I'd have made sure to have a couple ready. Oh, and of course, as soon as I left, I thought of multiple. :P I tweeted him, thanking him, hoping for a reply so I could innocently ask if he'd answer my questions now. ;)

If Brandon ever just showed up in front of me I'd probably be too starstruck to speak at all so I can definitely see how it might have been difficult to remember a list of complex questions that haven't been brought up in over a week :P

I always saw people say things like that in topics about signings and I never understood until today what that's like. Even the simple ones about Night's Sorrow and West Coast Epics slipped my mind.

I'm….getting there.

Honestly, though, I don't fault you for forgetting the questions. I might do the exact same thing under pressure, so unless I'd written them down somewhere, I might not remember any questions either. It's the people who have the chance of a lifetime to ask any question they want, any question at all, and they ask if Reckoners is Cosmere, or whether or not Steelheart's invulnerability would make him unable to trim his nose hairs, that make me want to rip my hair out in frustration. :P

If I had known in advance. I would've for sure had at least three or four questions ready. If I had asked that, I'd give you permission to rip out my hair. :P I'm just disappointed that I didn't even ask something like "tell me something about Night Sorrow's powers".

I might copy the FUNTIMES list onto my phone just in case.

Don't be too disappointed. I'd probably ask "Would my plan to kill Fortuity with a bikini, a moose tranquilizer, and four or five empty vodka bottles have worked?" :P

What? An attractive woman wears the bikini, distracting him and luring him into a private sauna. Then the woman stabs him with the moose tranquilizer, scatters the vodka bottles around on the floor, stays long enough to deflect suspicion (and to make sure he's dead) and then smuggles the body out of the sauna by draping his arm around her shoulder and pretending he's blackout drunk!

There is no possible flaw in that plan. It's foolproof. :P

You forgot the part where we all get to use him as a pinata.

Oooohhhhh, right. Maybe I'll go back to my first draft, the one where the moose tranquilizer was used on an actual moose. That one lends itself more to "Fortuity piñata" anyway.

Ok got a new epic that I would like to place in Corvallis as a citizen (In other words he is known to the Queens etc.)

Epic Name: Mannequin the Puppet Master

Primary Power: Puppet Control: He can seize control of any inanimate object, though the closer the object is to human, the easier. He can control any number of objects, but more objects or straining an object outside of its normal movement range, requires more energy.

Secondary PowerDirect Control: He can transfer consciousness directly of any one puppet to more precisely control the puppet or in order to escape harm. Doing this places his normal body at extreme risk. The range away from his body is currently unknown.

Tertiary Power: Puppet Body: upon death of his original body, he can transmit his consciousness to any dead body and take control of his new body. The body must be close and still generally usable.

So, if more objects put a larger strain on him that does mean that there is ultimately a limit of how much he can control, right?

What happens when the body he's controling gets destroyed? (Unknown in there is no limit or unknown in the sense that you just aren't telling us?)

How close are we talking about?

Right. She's not irredeemable; if shown how harmful her behavior was and given an opportunity to escape, she'd take it. I don't see her as unsympathetic at all. (In fact, the more of her backstory I write, the worse I feel for her.) She isn't beyond redemption, but she does need it. Badly.

Sorry to be harping on this but Funtimes is an associate to every atrocity Nighthound and Lightwards commited after she helped them with the museum or at the very least those she knows about, which is more than plenty, making her a murderer of innocents by proxy. Getting rid of Calamity's influence might help with such things like her humiliating people for fun without any provokation and some of her other character flaws, to the point that whoever kills her wouldn't actually make Portland a better place anymore, but it'll take much more to actually redeem her.

Anybody have plans for Timelock? 'Cause he's just standing there, waiting for the Metal to let him move again. And he's going to want an explanation...

I do have a post almost ready, but unless the Financier suddenly decides to hire him or something that post is going to remain unposted -- nothing for him to really do, except sit there fuming and/or cheese off a bunch of powerful Epics.

Also, I often won't be able to post until the evening, as school is currently a thing (But only for another two weeks! Huzzah!).

He can talk and walk quite fine again. so that shouldn't be the problem.

Impact would be able to put up a pretty decent fight against Ozzy if needed even with a full healing factor, Deathwish would probably win too, since they'd both need to rely on weapons mostly but Deathwish can reflect all the damage back wheras Ozzy could just heal from it. And Redlight is pretty useful against most forms of PI so the Dalles wouldn't exactly be lacking in counters, that being said the double PI does seem a little excessive there's not really much of a need.

Not really, Impact he could kill before she has anytime to react and put up any defenses, Deathwish he can just pummel fit his fists and while Redlight can stop him from moving it would still need a lot of preparation and help to actually hurt him at all.

I'm….getting there.

Actually, Steelheart would be able to trim his nose hairs, even if no one else could.
