Kestrel she/her Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Basically, the question above. Which magic system (Cosmere or other ones in Sanderson's works) do you think would fit yourself best? I would fancy Allomancy but I think that Elantrian magic or Rithmatics would actually be a better fit for myself (especially Rithmatics). Either that, or Forgery. I am always doodling, making symbols and animals on my papers. It would be interesting to see those come alive in chalk, or be able to draw symbols in the air to create new things. I also think Forgery would fit me because of my really (upsetting) ability to copy ideas. I'm uncreative as all get out but I have talent to do things. I just. Don't have ideas. So yeah, what about yourselves?
Redbird he/him Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Feruchemy, because anytime I am not using a trait, I can store it. Plus the ability to store and tap heat would just be awesome.
sanderfan she/her Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I could definitely use some allomancy. In fact, whenever I'm cold, I pretend I'm burning pewter to keep myself warm. It has yet to work, but you can't stop me from trying. Also, steelpushing is basically the coolest thing ever and sounds super fun/useful.
Lord Pifferdoo he/him Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Feruchemy or mutha'flippin Legion-style stuff, although that's not really magic.
natc Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Certain allomantic powers are tempting, but feruchemy as a whole is more useful for me. Can I be fullborn?
Valvidian Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I would be a surgebinder, either Dustbringer or Windrunner, if given the option. I always thought channeling would be amazing as well.
king of nowhere Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I'll take technomancy. It's a minor magic system spanning all books but not discussed much, where you start with some few basic premises (called the physical laws) but you build up to very complex things. I want it because it''s the most flexible of all; it takes a lot of practice, but eventually you can do pretty much anything, from healt regeneration, to space travel, to watching naked women on a piece of glass. And everyone can use it. But, more on topic, my first choice would be to be a kandra, for the simple fact that kandras do not age and are extremely unlikely to die in accidents. I like my life already without fancy superpowers, I'd rather take more of it than add something to it. Anyway, body mastery would be useful too (look at me! I can build all the muscles I want, without getting up from bed!) Second choice would be access to tel'aran'riod. A few characters in the wheel of time remark that food eaten in TER won't fill you, so it's useless, and I always took that as a sign of how bloody stupid those characters were. I can eat everything I want without any adverse healt effect. I can see every place I want. I can do pretty much anything I can imagine, and I can imagine a lot. Ok, it won't have any effect on the real world, but all of fiction doesn't, and it's not less fun because of it. Third choice would be doing something for charity, but I can't really think of any power that can be used effectively to help others. Not in a world were "helping others" does not usually translate into "beating someone else" 1
Lindel he/him Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 For practical purposes, Feruchemy. So much useful stuff. For awesomeness, probably Allomancy, or maybe Surgebinding. But the magic system that resonates the most with me personally is Awakening.
LouiseSparrow she/her Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I think Elantrian AonDor would suit me best, I love symbols and drawing.
Redbird he/him Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I feel like saying, Aondor would be the worst for me, I fail at drawing straight lines, so I could probably draw Aon Aon, and that would be it. 1
Curiosity he/him Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Feruchemy, hands down. It's just so practical, and I could remember EVERYTHING.
StormingTexan he/him Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I feel like saying, Aondor would be the worst for me, I fail at drawing straight lines, so I could probably draw Aon Aon, and that would be it. Same here I can't draw a stick figure. I think I found Awakening the most interesting magic system and I think I would just sit around all day making little straw people go fetch me stuff and make me sandwiches. 1
