mail-mi he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 No, you'd be a cyclic weather manipulator. Change your surname to "Delancey" and you've got a chance at matter manipulation. Can I change my name to "Jäger"? *ducks* 1

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 How about "Nathsha"? Is that one okay?
mail-mi he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Am I gonna get another bad meme if I say Roosevelt?

Edgedancer he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) He's a doctor who owns a cat and gives away hot chocolate, what's not to like? You make some very good points... The fact that the cat is a reincarnated supervillain? pssst, Kobold, don't spoil Möbius' plan. And I listened, and behold, a voice over teh interwebs spoke; and lo, it was the voice of the Shipmistress. And the Shipmistress said: "I have more drawings from my sister." "I think I'm going to draw Kobold's pony. What are his colors?" "You mean his pony's colors? Brown and darker brown." Pause "No, they're not." "What is he? Pegasus, unicorn, earth pony?" "Earth pony." Pause "He's a unicorn now." "Be sure to tell him I'm just drawing this because I'm bored. Not because I like him or anything." After being shown the drawing in her sketchbook "Woah, that's cool. What city is it?" Shrugs "I dunno. Just a city." "Well, it's cool." "Wait a sec—it's Babilar as the waters rise! And those are Obliteration's glasses!" At least she didn't make his pony green. Also, if I may be a nitpicker, his pony had antlers, so whatever he was, he wasn't a Earth Pony. So Taylor Swift's latest album, 1989, came out post calamity... interesting... Thanks for the timeline, this is VERY helpful. In terms of time jumps, I'm not necessarily set on having one, I was just exploring the possibility. We'll just have to see how things go though. The "special mission" shouldn't mess up anything. The timing of it is pretty flexible . Kobold set the start at Steelheart's publication. Feel free to add your own stuff. Don't worry about the double post. The rules are more like guidelines anyway. * is banned * This is Oregon, here even the Moderators bow to our rules. *is also banned* I put together a new headcanon about Autumn Glass. Feel free to adopt it--I think you'll all find it perfectly rational and plausible. I like it. Now, how does Shiny Sparkle fit into all of this? Did she score big afterall? In charge sounds better. She just says she's afraid of being "important." It's seperate, though she doesn't know. So for example Rainmaker telling her to lead the team tasked with finding Euphoria would trigger it? I wasn't sure where antlers fit into the whole horns-and-wings pattern of classification, so I picked earth pony because it was closest. And most importantly: will Obliteration hit The Dalles in winter?

That would be perfect as the thing that deals a killing blow to The Dalles. 1

Meaning that Obliteration hits the place and ruins Autumn's and Shiny Sparkle's little love nest? (and also the whole good Epic army thing, sparks he works fast.) Preacher vs. preacher. Fire vs. ice. Whoever wins, The Dalles loses. That is an awesome set up... Obliteration can't lose though. I also just read the Neverthere segment. I'm kind of worried what happens if she meets Nighthound and wonder if Red could track her.
Voidus Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 So what does all of this suggest about Glass's taste in hot chocolate?
Edgedancer he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 So what does all of this suggest about Glass's taste in hot chocolate? Autumn how could you! I though we could trust you but you betrayed the chocolat. Actually, all the activity made me think, what's up with the Financier and Bioterror?

I agree that Obliteration can't lose. This Epic, when he shows up, has to embody fear. When he's on the screen, we need to make sure that the characters and the readers alike know that some serious shindig is about to go down. When he strides onto a city street, we need to make sure he doesn't leave until a crowd of people's been torched and half the street or more has been melted into paste. He's been leaving my other characters alone, but the Financier, man….Writer's Block just doesn't like that guy. Given Lucentia's government and his position in it, how would she tell him to respond to someone like Bioterror? So she can be redeemed. That monster. Actually in character? "I don't care, just don't bother me with it. And if you get yourself captured, I'll have Mary slowly pull you back here, through your own artery. Just go and ask the Metal or something if you need help." Yeah, that sounds about right. 2

Spoiler: Winter Glass' fear is hot chocolate. She faces her fears by drinking a warm mug of cinnamon-laced cocoa sometime in late February, at which point she becomes Spring Glass. The magical depowering ray makes her forget her fear of cocoa and how she conquered it. Okay then. I'll have something up for him soonish. 1

All well that ends well... apart from the ruined town that is. Her actual wording might change depending on how the topic came up but that's the essence. To be... fair to Lucentia, she would actually mobilize if necessary, knowing the Financier she just doesn't want to be bothered over every little thing.

The magical depowering ray rebuilds all the ruined buildings. (We really need to destroy this deus ex machina miracle ray before the Reckoners hear about it, don't we? ) "Luceeennnnntia! There are seven people coming up the rise! SEVEN! HALP!" 3
Voidus Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I also just read the Neverthere segment. I'm kind of worried what happens if she meets Nighthound and wonder if Red could track her. Depends how clever Nighthound is in realizing when he's being manipulated, if she thought she could use him she'd put up with all his Slontzey creepiness, if not she'd probably leave him be, if she thought someone could track her she'd probably do her best to kill them.
Kobold King he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Oh, I didn't say? The magical depowering ray rebuilds all the ruined buildings. (We really need to destroy this deus ex machina miracle ray before the Reckoners hear about it, don't we? ) They never work with Epics--maybe the ray is produced by an Epic named Deus Ex? Also... I only just realized it's a wholly fanon term. 2
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I pretty sure I started that. I took it from the Dresden Files.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 And posted. Short, but hopefully it'll ward off Writer's Block. Yeah, I think it was Joe who started it and Edge who helped it catch on. It's not in the series, but it does make sense.

If we have to think about a dystopian world we might as well use a more creative term, remeniscent of ice-cream.
