TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Not sure if i want to imagine it or not. By the way, you do know that all this teasing about her means that she does need more viewpoints, even if that messes with your plans? Twi, do you go next with Autumn? It's probably for the best if she does.
Edgedancer he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 It's probably for the best if she does. You mean you don't want her to do a flamboyant introduction, causing Arsenal to overuse the word indecent even more? 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 This is kind of what I was imagining in my head, so thanks for confirming! For Euphoria's rending, let's just say I know EXACTLY what snapped her out of it. Also, both the Rending itself, and what happens after, are totally heart-breaking... (at least for me, I won't presume about you all). As Kobold pointed out, "September" is an eerily plausible representation of an Epic's thoughts post-Rending. You mean you don't want her to do a flamboyant introduction, causing Arsenal to overuse the word indecent even more? Arsenal seems to enjoy calling things "indecent." We must keep this pleasure from him. 1
Comatose he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Almost done Rainmaker post, only to accidentally go back a page and lose everything... Back to the word doc! Not sure if i want to imagine it or not. By the way, you do know that all this teasing about her means that she does need more viewpoints, even if that messes with your plans? Twi, do you go next with Autumn? I've already written one pre-Calamity flashback, and there are more in my head. Just trying to decide how I want to work them in! I'm definitely open to suggestions.

Kobold King he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Except the ponies maybe. Well then, it's only Baxter and I'm starting to feel sorry for him. I would have said especially the ponies. I'd point out that he's not the one who got shot half an hour ago.

Mine usually do and then you can restore them, though sometimes you need to refresh to get it to work. Also, random Collaborate post up because I felt like writing, is anybody waiting on any of my characters?

MV post, perhaps?
Blaze1616 he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 All right, simple solutions are simple. I'm going to alter the girls so that Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are their codenames. In addition, Buttercup's weakness will be iceskating, given the same backstory. I'll re-adjust Bubbles's weakness to solve Voidus's issue with it, but I want to say that just because a fear is childish does not mean someone can't have it. I am afraid of Wasps. Kobold is afraid of spiders. Though I will admit that wasps are not my greatest fear, they very well could be were I not so afraid of my parents dying (which itself could be viewed a childish fear). Though her fear is childish, that does not mean it isn't true. As for the girls feeling guilt or remorse, Phaedrus isn't the only one we see. What about Megan? With two of our major Epic characters exhibiting "positive" feelings towards vanillas, is it so hard to believe there can't be others? Do you all really think that both Limelight and Firefight are unique, that they are the only two, and that they both just so happened to run into David during their lives? Particularly when you consider the fact that Megan was actively using her powers during all of Steelheart? If the consensus is still that the girls shouldn't feel guilt or remorse about it then I'll simply remove such feelings from the profiles, there's no reason to argue. I just don't understand your points of view. 1

Ah, excellent idea, just noticed that Edge got a Baxter post up so it would be good timing I guess. On that topic, nice post Edge! If MV follows in her sisters footsteps and accidentally goes homicidal then Baxter is with Autumn at the top of her 'try not to murder' list.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Autumn post up, in which she briefly channels Backtrack in her plea to the Almighty.

I just don't understand your points of view. Firstly thanks for taking on advice on a character, I know I always struggle even if I can see the problems people have and these are admittedly some pretty subjective issues. Secondly I just want to clarify that I definitely don't think fear of loss is childish, if anything it's the opposite, I think it's too adult a concept for even most adults to really conceptualize. On the positive feelings thing I definitely don't think they're alone and I'm pretty happy for characters in the RP to act like that, I have a few myself that are more positive than the corruption should allow, even some who have been pretty frequent in their power use. I was arguing in my canon-disputing mode rather than my -constructive-character-criticism mode so sorry for that, I'm perfectly happy for the girls to feel guilt. 2

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with fear of loss as an Epic fear, in my opinion. I have a character whose central fear is abandonment. I was more arguing in the sense of what she fears losing.
Edgedancer he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) I'd point out that he's not the one who got shot half an hour ago. Hey, neither me nor him is moaning about him having the worst life ever. In fact, right now things are looking down for him, because he prioritizes the suffering of others. Baxter would totally let himself get shoot, if that would tell him where his daughter is. All right, simple solutions are simple. I just don't understand your points of view. How exactly would ice-skating act as a trigger? I'm sorry, if I came across as insulting with the childish comment, even though I wouldn't put loosing a toy on the same scale as loosing a loved one or almost burning to your death actually happening, I did not mean that loosing something you care about isn't painful. Yes they are both rather unique. Megan wasn't using her powers all over Steelheart, she used it once after a lenghtened period of not using them at all and got cranky immediately afterwards. It's also to be noted that her powers are relatively weak, meaing they cause barely any corruption. Other Epics without evil tendencies might exsist but they would be in an gifter position, similar to Edmund and not actively using their power all the time. There is a reason people think all Epics are evil. As far as them actually acting that way goes, I'm with Voidus, we have enough canon liberties in the RP. Edited April 14, 2015 by Edgedancer

Also, random Collaborate post up because I felt like writing, is anybody waiting on any of my characters? I usually autosave, but it didn't work this time for some reason . A Cornucopia post would also be fantastic, but I understand if you are still working on her, or want to wait longer.

It's just taking me a little while to get the headset right, the meds I'm on at the moment make it a bit difficult, although I could probably right an awesome Neverthere scene at the moment, which probably says a lot about her character 3
Kobold King he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 So Backtrack didn't need to resort to sitting on the curb with a "Free Hugs" sign after all. 2
Voidus Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 So Backtrack didn't need to resort to sitting on the curb with a "Free Hugs" sign after all. Well before everyone protests it I'd like to say it was more for her benefit than his Although I'm sure he was desperately in need of a hug. 1

Voidus Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 And first Cornucopia post up, hope it's good. I think I got the character how I wanted her but as I said, not exactly in the best position to judge my writing right now 1
Blaze1616 he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Firstly thanks for taking on advice on a character, I know I always struggle even if I can see the problems people have and these are admittedly some pretty subjective issues. Though it is important that the player should enjoy their characters, given this is an online RP, and therefore collaborative, you all enjoying them is important too. Making these alterations is really no big deal, and doesn't really alter the characters too much How exactly would ice-skating act as a trigger? So, instead of being afraid of the death of her sisters (and thereby binary in terms of losing powers), the event of them almost dieing wound up linking to ice skating in her mind. So she's now afraid of ice skating. Whenever she is ice skating, she loses her powers. I'm also thinking I might just make it being on frozen bodies of water, as that's more doable (getting her to ice skate against her will seems rather difficult in comparison to the weaknesses in the novels). I was under the impression that Megan was using them during her time with the Reckoners (wasn't there a point where she goes out in public with Steelheart?) though I must admit it's been quite a long while since I read the novel. In addition, Megan's powers are actually incredibly powerful, and I'm surprised Brandon hasn't showcased them in such ways yet like he has with his other magics. That all being said, I wasn't trying to imply a large percentage of Epics were that way, but certainly a larger percentage than 2 Epics total. I am confused by your last statement. Do you want me to change their profiles in such a way, or are you okay with it? To be honest, the only reason I included it is because it allows room for doubt between the sisters. This way it is more than feasible that they be turned against each other given the right circumstances. That might not happen, but it allows room for such things.

Kobold King he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Should I put up a post for Arsenal, or shall we give Shiny Sparkle a chance to get guns pointed at her? 2
