Kobold King he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 No.... It's probably a good thing Lightsong's monkey doesn't have more power. Imagine what he'd do with a seat on the Senate! I recognize that "No." That's the "absolutely, I just don't want to admit it" No. No worse than senators, amirite? BURN 2

mail-mi he/him Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 It's just taking me a little while to get the headset right, the meds I'm on at the moment make it a bit difficult, although I could probably right an awesome Neverthere scene at the moment, which probably says a lot about her character Well, it is her turn.
mail-mi he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Voidus, I'm thinking of taking on that messenger you just shot as my (currently) only character in Corvallis. Any objections?
Kobold King he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Got bored so I made a Deathwish pony. He doesn't look sleazy enough for my tastes, but I guess the context of whatever pony comic he finds his way into will incriminate his true nature. 2

Okay, you know how on the Disney Peter Pan movie (the good one from like 1954) Peter tells the Darlings to "think of a happy thought"? Well, "happy" has the same number of syllables as "sleazy." So yeah. I'm now picturing Deathwish as a PG-13 Peter Pan telling teenagers to "think sleazy thoughts." My brain scares me sometimes. 3

I'll keep that in mind. I was going for the alicorn/High Epic association, but conveying the goopiness of his hair is more important. The Honey Badger he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) How much can he change the frequency and intensity of sound? Also, what are "minor" ways he can affect objects. Can he just move them, or could he break glass? He can't change the pitch beyond human hearing range. How loud do you think he should be able to raise the volume of a sound? I was thinking maybe twice as loud as a screaming person, but what do you think? I think I'll scratch that secondary power, it's too much. Here is the new "character power set" Tonedeath Epic Primary Power: Sound Manipulation Example: He can make any noise he can hear louder or quieter, or change the pitch Tertiary Power: Echolocation Example: He can make a map of his surroundings in his head, by hearing sounds bounce off of walls and people, He is constantly making a clicking sound to update his sound map. Also he can overlay the Sound Map over his vision and he can see sound as well as physical objects, though it is very disorienting. Back Story: Tonedeath used to be Philip Jones an air traffic worker at a military base. After a tragic accident, he was left in a coma and lost the use of his eyes. After two years he awoke as an Epic, his coma stifled his rending short. He eventually struck out with a previous hospital ward mate, Lawrence “Larry” Seger. By then Tonedeath had been born, and he and Larry began their adventures. Appearance: Tonedeath wears his old reflective vest, although the orange part has been spray painted black, with the silver reflective part left the same. He wears black pants and a black t-shirt under the vest. He also wears mechanic’s goggles, to hide his useless eyes. He carries two handguns. Edit to add: Also I can't be totally active this week due to school, but when the weekend comes I'll have multiple RP posts Edited April 15, 2015 by The Honey Badger

Blackhoof Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I don't think its too much to be able to move/shatter things with sound. Pretty awesome power. But its your call I saw and adjusted. I think it worked well! On an unrelated note, what do you guys think about time jumps? I was thinking that including a few in Corvallis could help move the plot forward (especially since Iconoclast is going to need to time to save up on ghouls). I'm thinking we could just wait for opportune point between scenes and then jump forward a few days. What do you guys think? hmmm Iconoclast might not take so long as you think. I mean, it lmly takes five seconds to turn one or two people, meaning he could assemble at least a hundred within an hour (a conservative estimate). And he isn't aiming to just make an army and then wipe out the city- he will go from place to place, creating a few dozen Ghouls in each location. Sure they are pretty easy fodder for Epics, but no unarmed vanilla would have much chance against most Ghouls one-on-one. I'm predicting at most a week before all-out chaos, although if the Queens thwart his efforts by killing Ghouls too quickly, that will take longer. so i don't know if more than a single jump of a few days, or a few jumps of one day each, would be necessary for Iconoclast. Well if we do that we might want to come up with a tentative RP timeline, so we can keep up with what date each city is on. I'm pretty sure it's been established that we're at the beginning of September right now, but beyond that we have no idea. What I'm saying is that if the rest of the RP is on September 4th, we'll have to make a special note if Corvallis jumps ahead to September 8th. well, if jumps are necessary, we could have Corvallis set before the other cities before the jumps occur? So far, there havent been any crossovers that fix timelines in place. That might be a good idea anyways, since I'm not entirely sure how the timelines match up anyways (Like, for example, the Corvallis thread is starting in the evening, so I'm not sure when that is compared to the Dalles, Astoria, or Portland). Also, on a slightly related note, how long after Calamity is this RP taking place again? The books took place ten years later, right? When was Oregon destroyed in relation to the books? That's what I was intending. When I said a "convenient time" I definitely meant after the riot was quelled. Though, if Iconoclast gets involved with the riots, war might just start right there... haha oh yes, Iconoclast will be there.... 2
Kobold King he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Would that make Vondra Captain Hook? Vondra's more of a Mr. Darling type... which itself would probably make Autumn Nana the dog. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Vondra's more of a Mr. Darling type... which itself would probably make Autumn Nana the dog. In other words, it's probably best to not draw parallels between WHITD and Peter Pan. Though things work better if you make Shiny Sparkle Peter and Autumn Wendy. 1

The Honey Badger he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I don't think its too much to be able to move/shatter things with sound. Pretty awesome power. But its your call I think that if I remove that power, than I can scale up the sound amplifying, which is the really cool power. It has a bunch of uses that are good in combat and would be powerful in other ways too. You'll see in my RP
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 What would that make Backtrack? Tootles? Well, who's the biggest butt monkey?
Kobold King he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Well, who's the biggest butt monkey? Tootles, of course. Obliteration can be the Crocodile, being the personification of inescapable, ever-looming death. ... Well that got dark quickly.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Tootles, of course. Obliteration can be the Crocodile, being the personification of inescapable, ever-looming death. ... Well that got dark quickly. Your demise draws near, Quota. Anything gets darker when you add Obliteration. To illustrate, here is a list of random things he could be added to: The morning news Teletubbies McDonald's Hot Topic The Mona Lisa Super Bowl commercials Motivational posters School assemblies A farm in Wisconsin If you didn't shudder at any of those, you have no soul. Or you ARE Obliteration. 1

Comatose he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 In other news, I think I've completely figured out a way to work Euphoria's back story into the RP! Just need to work out some kinks. With Euphoria's happiness power, how incapacitating do you guys think a full, rending level dose of happiness would be? Like would people just sit there dazed, overwhelmed by all of the positive emotion? In my head, I more just pictured it would make them super agreeable--they'd be fine with anything, as long as they keep feeling the burst of positive emotion, and have less thoughts about consequences, that sort of thing. I know Euphoria sometimes used her happiness power to distract people while she used her revision power, but I'm not sure to what extent. Feedback?

I know Euphoria sometimes used her happiness power to distract people while she used her revision power, but I'm not sure to what extent. Feedback? I recall one Doctor Who episode where a future version of Earth had an underground drug trade in emotion patches, that made you feel certain things. As it turns out, a patch called Bliss becomes popular with the upper class, and the patch is so strong that they don't even notice a plague sweeping the city--until they're all dead. I think a Rending-level dose of happiness could be much the same. Or, if it seems more likely that she just made all her victims super agreeable, I don't think that would be implausible. Epic powers seem largely instinctual, so there's a decent chance Euphoria could've controlled the dosage somewhat during her Rending. It would have been extremely strong for everyone she targeted, but I don't think it's out of the question that some were dosed more strongly than others. Edit: Yes, Obliteration. Yes you are. Kobold King he/him Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 So, Senor Voidus: What do you wanna do with Backtrack and MV now? Shall they talk at all during their long backtrack through the city? Shall we have them track Impact all the way to Frequency's gang?
Voidus Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Well, it is her turn. It is? Huh, well I may have to go back and read the last few scenes but I'll try to get something up soon. Voidus, I'm thinking of taking on that messenger you just shot as my (currently) only character in Corvallis. Any objections? None from me, did you have any plans with him? He could be one of Cornucopia's attendants, or just a soldier, or one of Rainmaker's attendants I suppose. So, Senor Voidus: What do you wanna do with Backtrack and MV now? Shall they talk at all during their long backtrack through the city? Shall we have them track Impact all the way to Frequency's gang? Hmmm... Not sure, tracking her to Frequency will be hard since she's been doing a bit of flying, not sure how that would affect Backtracks tracking plus it's probably a fair distance so by the time they got their she may have moved on. Perhaps they'll just reach a point where Backtrack can see she's obviously corrupted and show MV so she'll postpone the search until she can figure out what to do?
