Kobold King he/him Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Congratulations! I Googled "baptism cakes," unsure of what to expect. The results were... well…. beautiful, and perfect….if you're getting baptized as an infant. Since you are not getting baptized as an infant, I just Googled "awesome cakes." Enjoy! Thanks! I wouldn't say no to either of the infant baptism cakes, but they all look awesome.
Mistrunner Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I'm back on 17th Shard after a weeklong absence! Yaaay! Of course, I'm going to be off for two weeks pretty soon, but I'm enjoying it while I can. Age of Ultron: I honestly liked the first movie better. But mini Hawkeyes... awwwwww! 2
Kobold King he/him Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Well, I've been baptized now. Also, one of the ladies at the church baked a gluten-free strawberry cake in celebration, and it was awesome. 6

Comatose he/him Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Congrats! Are you a lawyerly type or a good solid paralegal like me? (My husband is an attorney, so we cover both.) Wow I haven't checked this in a while. I'll be a lawyer-lawyer. Unfortunately, Saskatchewan has not yet jumped on the paralegal train. Hopefully we do soon, so legal services can become more affordable. Well, I've been baptized now. Also, one of the ladies at the church baked a gluten-free strawberry cake in celebration, and it was awesome. Congrats Kobold! That's super exciting. I was baptized almost two years ago, and even though like you I always felt like I was a part of the church, it still felt pretty special. Also, that cake sounds amazing! 2
Delightful Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Is cake at a baptism traditional, or just yummy?
Silverblade5 he/him Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I recently got a time of 28 seconds on the rubik's cube. 3
Orlion Blight he/him Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Is cake at a baptism traditional, or just yummy? It's only traditional at the cool baptisms
mail-mi he/him Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I just got the best internship ever: I get to dress up like an alien and shoot little children with fake guns. And in 3 months or so I'll actually be paid for it. Which is not even counting the other job I have right now, which is taking apart legos for $10 an hour for my grandma, which means no taxes. I love my employment situation right now 4

mail-mi he/him Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Where's it at, if I may ask? Discovery space center.
+Slowswift Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) Discovery space center. Awesome. Space is coolness. Also, swing dancing at mutual! YAAAY! Edited June 24, 2015 by Slowswift 1

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 LDS mid-week church activities. Oh, I've heard of those. I wish the sort of churches I grew up in did more of that sort of thing. We had church service every Sunday and Wednesday, but that's not the same as--like Slowswift mentioned--swing dancing.

We had church service every Sunday and Wednesday, but that's not the same as--like Slowswift mentioned--swing dancing. They're usually awesome, and also sometimes spiritual. One of the many great things about the LDS church is, I think, that the combination of awesome and spiritual happens very often. Edited June 24, 2015 by mail-mi 1
Orlion Blight he/him Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Also, swing dancing at mutual! YAAAY! Just make sure they teach you the right steps! Threaten a zoot- suit riot (riot!) otherwise! This service announcement brought to you by someone who found out a couple weeks ago that the swing steps that were taught to him years agon were incorrect
Mistrunner Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Swing dancing! I can do that! Anyway. I found a movie version of Hamlet on YouTube today (Shakespeare is awesome) starring David Tennant! It gets better. I called my brother over to watch and my mom actually had to tell us to stop watching Hamlet and go to bed. I love my family. Also, you should all go watch it. It's fabulous. 3
Kobold King he/him Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Today, at TwiLyght's suggestion, I mixed up our usual scrambled eggs routine with pepper and sour cream as opposed to cheese and sausage. Since I'm posting this here rather than on the "Having a Bad Day" thread, you can gather that the experiment was a success. 1

skaa he/him Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) Hey guys! Today (June 28 here in the Philippines) is Tau Day! As a tauist, allow me to evangelizepromote the Way of the Tau. Please read the Tau Manifesto to learn all sorts of cool facts about the circle constant. Or watch the video Pi is (still) Wrong by mathemusician Vi Hart. Or read our very own Chaos's post in praise of tau. Today I'll be eating pies in pairs, because the central dogma of tauism is that there are two pis in tau. You guys should do the same! *omnomnomnom* Edited June 28, 2015 by skaa
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I just pre-ordered Calamity for my Kindle. It will be auto-delivered to my device on February 16th. Give or take a week, according to Peter Ahlstrom. And now, I wait. 3

DanTheSeamonster he/him Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 My birthday is in two weeks! And my brother is coming back tomorrow! 1
Silverblade5 he/him Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 I just set off fireworks on my own for the very first time. It was awesome. 1
