Lots of things made me happy today.

1. On my drive to work, I saw a motorcyclist wearing a half-mask over the lower part of his face. The mask was printed to look like a skull, and it reminded me of the Marvel character Crossbones.

2. During the same drive, I saw a license plate that read "8 COWIF", a reference to the video Johnny Lingo (an older but still popular video among Mormons), and could not stop laughing at it.

3. Once I parked, I found a hummingbird and a family of goldfinches in the parking lot, including one finch fledgling flapping its wings and cheeping at its parents to feed it. Adorable!

4. The high temperature today was only in the low 70s (Fahrenheit, obviously), which is astonishing for Utah in July, and a very pleasant change from the 90+ weather we've been having recently.

5. I've been listening to the band Postmodern Jukebox in my car.

6. I got free dinner at a church-sponsored event, plus a small takeout box of leftover brownies.

It will come as no surprise to most of you that I was not allowed to listen to My Chemical Romance (and, to a lesser extent, somewhat similar bands) back when I was a teen and they were big. But honestly, that's okay, because ten years later, I get to discover them for the first time.

(I'm enjoying their music much more than that image might let on. I just couldn't resist an "emo kid" joke. :P )

Tonight's D&D session was really good :)

Lots of rp (some of it even good!), maybe 20% combat total (not that I dislike combat, but I really like rp). They got to really get started exploring the archipelago the campaign is set in and met 3 major NPCs (and many more minor ones). I got to set up some more mysteries/plot hooks, deepen/progress existing ones and include some things specific to individual PCs. Was a good night :)

My library hold on The Black Parade came in!

….is it weird that I'm nervous to listen to the whole thing? I've loved every song I've heard from it so far, so maybe I'm just afraid the others won't live up to the hype….

I took Bruce to the vet for his wrinkle infection and because his two front paws were inflamed. I was afraid of hearing this:

"Hm, his face looks pretty bad. Oh, you were cleaning it with vinegar and water? Yikes, not good. Yeah, and that ointment you were using just made it worse. Also, that redness on his feet is ringworm. Just torch your apartment and run."

Instead, I heard this:

"That infection on his face isn't terrible, and that redness on his feet is just allergies combined with a yeast infection. Good job wiping down his face and washing his paws. You've been doing everything right."

Go Twi!

*hugs*

I hope Bruce is ok soon.

Me too. He's been doing fine—aside from those two things, he hasn't acted like he's in pain at all, which is a good sign. The vet prescribed some antibiotics, which means Bruce gets to take them with peanut butter. He is not unhappy with this development.

Disney on Ice was better than I imagined!! I was screaming hysterically the entire time and all these little girls thought I was the real Princess Anna as I'm almost Anna's age and they were squealing and hugging me and asking for photos and curtsying to me and asking me where my chocolate and Elsa was! One woman even asked me how much I was being paid and if she could have my number for her kid's Frozen party!! :D:D:D:D:wub::wub::wub:

BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFFFFEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wub::wub::lol::lol:

I got my brother @Elenion to read The Way of Kings!

I'm halfway through and I only started today. Either I'm too obsessed or have too much free time, or both.

You're just talented. :o That's impressive reading speed, and I read very fast.

Just read both SA books in just under a week!

It appears that I have an addiction that I need to overcome, because I'm pretty sure the cravings will set in before the next book comes out.

Poor fool. There is no avoiding it. There are only the theories.

The only way to temporarily alleviate the symptoms is to devour other Sanderson books.

YES!

After three weeks of waiting (barring the time wasted on waiting after I broke rules that no one bothered to post to the website) the Louisiana DMV has finally deigned to process my transfer request. I only mention it here because this means no more waiting, no more wondering if they'll accept it this time or if they'll send it back again with yet another passive aggressive note about what I did wrong.

I'm currently collapsed on the couch sweating even after a long cold shower, because I added another 2.7 miles to my walking this week, making for a total of just over 9 miles for the week. Considering I probably haven't walked 9 miles total in the last year (only a slight exaggeration), that's a huge accomplishment for me.

I credit Pokémon Go, of course.
