I just got a call from the local library I applied with, letting me know they added another supplemental question to their application and emailed it to me. I'd hoped the call would be one asking me to interview, but was dreading it in case it was a "Sorry not sorry, but we're going to ask other applicants instead" call. This way, it means they're just a little slow, which means other libraries I applied to might also just be slow.

THERE'S MORE THAN ONE OF HER, AND THEY'RE SOLDIERS?!?!?!

:P

Do you just word-search for "regalia?" This has gotta be the second time (at least) that you've done this.

No. Of course not. Why would you think that?

After trying and failing to find any books at all on Spokane during WWII, I stumbled across a website dedicated to historic buildings and other locations there! There are articles, pictures, and even an interactive map!

I can't wait to get exploring. :D

I got to the potato in a minefield quote today. It was perfectly bad.

This whole book is fantastic.

Also: whenever Brandon uses the word 'Delightful', I feel like he's talking to me O_o. I mean it's not impossible right......

I managed to find a pest control guy who was willing to rehome my bumblebees!  The nest has been removed with minimal casualties (and no stings), and they are off to a new home in a more rural area!

Thanks to that picture, I kind of want to make a "Bats!" style song for Bumblebee's now.

"Those bumblebess will give you a sting,

Building hives into everything!"

...Eh, needs work.

Kind of boring news, but summer's almost here, which means I might actually be able to get some reading time again!

And maybe I'll start posting here again! But most of you probably don't even remember me anymore...

"Gandalf. That was what they called me. Gandalf the Grey!"

...Does this mean you're now the White Pilgrim?

I remember your name and profile pic but I'm not sure we ever spoke much. You're more than welcome to hang around :)

Perhaps if I decide to return to my former posting frequency, I will change the username to indicate the "resurrection".

Yeah, I did about 75% of my posting during the first 2-3 months after WoR was released and since then I pretty much have only posted to update the "What are you reading?" thread. I think we occasionally were active in the same threads. I would be Delighted to start hanging around again! I'm sure you still get bad puns like that all the time. And is white text still a thing?

You know, it's not often that I miss cable.  This is one of those rare, rare times.

Cable? I watch it on YouTube.

They...they put the ENTIRE episodes up on YouTube?  You mean I've been sitting here waiting for it to hit Netflix when I could have been watching this whole time?!

Yep. I don't think I've ever watched on Netflix. Once or twice on cable, but yeah, whole episodes for free.

Yep. Here it is. :D

Spoilers for the episode:

Words cannot describe how hard I was laughing at Gummy. :D :D :D

Posted

The heart of a philosopher and the soul of a poet, all bound up in the body of an alligator that likes to lick his own eyeballs. :D

And just imagine: Gummy has been giving those stoic monologues in every scene of his since his first appearance, and this was just the first time we were able to hear him.

Even better, Pinkie's implied before that she understands his language--meaning that she's been hearing these musings of his for years but has simply never mentioned them.

Also, Doctor Whooves' scarf. Need I say more? :D

I'd say Doctor Whooves was the best part of this episode, but I'd be lying.

The whole episode was the best part of this episode.

Every single side character was given their moment in the spotlight, and every single one of them was given an awesome and intriguing personality. Those easily panicked florists? Hilarious. Lyra and Bon Bon? Incredible. Cranky and Matilda? Freaking adorable.

It's everything I wanted from a side characters' episode and more. :D
