Dress Color? Ask An Awakener!

So, I'm not sure how many of you are aware of the image of The Dress going around apparently 'breaking' the Internet, but it's totally a thing happening right now.

People can't agree whether this dress is White & Gold, or Blue & Black, so I'm sitting over here thinking, 'Where's somebody with the Third Heightening when you need one?' XD

So.... without the use of 600 Breaths.... what color do you think this dress is?

It would depend on whether the Third Heightening makes people immune to tricks of light, I guess. For those who haven't figured it out yet, here is the obligatory XKCD comic shedding a bit of light (pun intended!) on the issue. There's also an informative discussion going on in the XKCD forums.

Ooo, interesting question, do the heightenings also prevent tricks of optics? I would think it'd have to do so to give you "perfect color recognition", but an interesting question for sure. 

 

The dress has been pretty definitively explained so far, both in the lovely xkcd coming linked above, but also in other "publications" like Wired

 

I think someone of the 3rd heightening would be able to see the dress for its' true colors. 

 

The dress is facinating though, when I first saw it, it was definitely white/gold and my wife saw blue/black. I was later able, by focusing just on the dress, to get my brain to see it for what it is, a poor exposure shot of a blue/black dress. Now I can slide back and forth while looking at it... it's quite fun!

It's a periwinkle blue and yellow-brown vomit combination to me. I was literally incapable of understanding the black/blue people until I saw this gif. And now I can only sorta see it, still blue and vomit as far as I can tell.

I almost exclusively see it as white/gold, but I saw it as blue/black in this photo for some reason, but it wasn't long before I started seeing it as white/gold again.

See, to me it is white/gold. Even with the color adjustments people are making like in the gif Moogle linked to, the darker version still looks white/gold to me, but with a blue hue being laid over it to make the white seem blue and gold seem dark brown. Except for the photos of women actually wearing the dress, all I see is white/gold. *shrugs*

The only thing I see is blue and black, even in that gif I only saw overexposed versions of said colors. And in the xkcd comic I sill saw blue for both.

See, to me it is white/gold. ^This is my exact problem. With the colour adjustments, I still see white/brown, just with a bluish tinge to it. I've just shrugged and moved on.

I see White and Gold. The link Moogle has changes it to blue/black, but considering that's messing with the color settings and stuff, I don't know how much to believe it. I have seen pictures of it as Blue/Black though.

 

Either way, that dress is weird. My new head canon is that the Parshendi murdered Gavilar because they disagreed on the color this thing was.

Up close, it looked White & Gold to me- but further away, it started to look more blue & black :V

 

I was looking over someones shoulder when I first saw it, and was really confused when I saw it change color later that day... XD

Oddly enough my dad sees white and gold and my mom sees blue and black. Heh.

Oh, yeah. you're not alone. I see blue, but no black. The "black" parts are goldish to me.
