Guest Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 So..."not much" means Shallan creating illusions to distract the chasmfiend and handing Kaladin a shardblade to kill the thing with...not sure I agree with that definition of not much. Yeah but a chasmfiend is a towering creature which can grow to 50 feet tall an effortlessly toss Adolin hard enough to nearly shattered his Plate... Even with a Blade and an illusion, Kaladin beating it was still slightly impossible. A chasmfiend could kill dozens of soldiers and toss shardbearers like ragdolls. Yeah, a Blade and some illusions are not much. Yeah well said. I hope we are going to see some Whitespine action... the way it killed Rilir was just awful and Adolin's comments when he saw a caged one suggests it was not a rare incident.
Elsecaller3414 she/her Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I'm glad that I actually have some idea of what a whitespine is supposed to look like now... the first time I read WoR, I couldn't think of anything other than a blob that looked sort of like a pathetic porcupine.
Alfa he/him Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I am not quite sure which animal in our world the whitespines resembles most in behaviour. Axehiunds are clear - dogs/wolfs, Chulls are also clear - cows, more or less. Whitwspines seem more deadly than lions. It would be storming interesting to learn more about the fauna of Roshar.
Elsecaller3414 she/her Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 It would be storming interesting to learn more about the fauna of Roshar. I agree. And the flora, too. 1
Herdazian he/him Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I always thought of whitespines as the equivalent of boars in Roshar 1
Elsecaller3414 she/her Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 They kind of are. Like the really aggressive ones that you never want to meet in the alleyway at midnight. Or ever, for that matter.
Ookla the Absent Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 They kind of are. Like the really aggressive ones that you never want to meet in the alleyway at midnight. Or ever, for that matter. Have they been eating the DA's cookies?
Elsecaller3414 she/her Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I... don't know what that means.
DreamEternal Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I... don't know what that means. The Dark Alley is a humanitarian non-profit group inside the sevententh shard that wishes to advance the study if the human soul and its augumentation. Many times it was injustly declared of forcibly coercing donors by those who would rather stop the advancement of mankind, and some superstitious fools claim their very science is "evil", as if morality was more than an illusion made by the weak to restrain the strong. They are commonly know as "hemalurgists", by the way. They have cookies. 2
