Obviously he's not in Portland yet, because if he was, Nighthound would be constantly and inexplicably attacked by knives, throwing stars, forks, kebab skewers, toothpicks, and lawnmowers.

He's been busy following Obliteration for a while now but he's given up for now and is on his way to Portland.

If you kill Metronome, I will retaliate by okaying the instant, simultaneous deaths of Flashpoint and Edgerunner. I am not afraid to use terrorist methods to achieve my goals. :P

:o

NO.

NO NO NO NO NO.

YOU DO NOT KILL CUTE SHIPS.

YOU JUST DON'T DO THAT.

KILL FLASHPOINT AND EDGERUNNER, AND I'LL LET QUOTA LIVE A LONG AND HAPPY LIFE.

I'll do it. I swear I'll do it.

Mark my words…..

I won't really. His fate is sealed, and he continues to torment me, causing me to wonder exactly how many sharp objects can be thrown his way before the scene pushes credulity.

The Shipmistress and Head Gm herself is on my side, Kobold. I don't think you'll win this one. :P

Here is an Epic that I was thinking of, anybody have any problems or ideas?  Thanks.

Epic Name: Affinity
Real Name: Susan Marks
Gender: Female
Age: 20

Powers:
-Can do anything that she has seen another do. If she sees somebody type their password into a computer she can replicate it.
-She knows how to operate anything she comes in contact to. If she hops in a helicopter, she can drive it like somebody who has been practicing all of their life.  Even something as small as having a band-aid can give her the ability to do first aid and a little extra.
-Empathy: can understand people's reasons for doing things and can recognize their intents.

I would like to begin this day by introducing you all to my new favorite Golden Age superhero: Fantomah.

Fantomah predates Wonder Woman, yet is relatively unknown. This is a travesty. Fantomah has to be, hands down, the craziest superpowered being ever written. When the Tiger-Women, who get around by tiger-surfing (yes, you read that right) decide to take over the world by getting rid of all the other women, Fantomah tears a moon rock from a mountain, puts the Tiger-Women inside it, and hurls it into space. When a paratrooper invasion looks like it's going to be a success, Fantomah counters it by making it rain panthers.

Yet Ant-Man gets a movie before Fantomah. Ant-Man.

This should not be.

I am not in charge of Hollywood. If I were, the Reckoners movies would be released before a Fantomah movie and just after the Sarcastic Four (a team-up flick featuring the Human Torch, Iron Man, Spiderman, and Deadpool) but that is neither here nor there. Lacking the pull to get a Fantomah movie made, I have given this incredible superheroine the very least she deserves: a pony.

And I'm still not sure it does her justice.

It seems like Lightwards has discovered the power of capslock, good for him. :P

Hurm….. :ph34r::P

A bit, yeah. There's the whole "nonconsensual relationship based partly on strategy and partly on mortal terror" thing, but couples have had worse problems. :P

It works for Nathan and Funtimes, doesn't it?

Just to get things straight:

1. What Epics are currently at the Astoria Column?
2. Would there be vanillas there as well? If so, how many and what kind? Tourists? Lackeys? Minions?

1.None of those I have actually bothered to name.

2. If any they would be of the servant/minion kind.

So I think it is official that Vis Vires has a force field wherever skin ends, and allows for some weird magic/Calamity based thing for him to still be able to eat and drink normal food, unless it would be better to just remove that.  I also keep on feeling that Vis needs something more, but that might be just me feeling weird depowering him from my setting.  I really have no idea.

Alright, now I'm curious?

----------------------------------

Epic Name: I have no idea.

Primary Power: He can control how much others love and hate him, however, if he makes someone love/hate him, someone of equal influence/importance to that person feels the opposite.

Backstory: Was one of the kids Mommy picked up, until he gained powers and saw Pan's shadow, and got transported to Pan's island.

Didn't I have no idea cause a discussion about player/character integrity?

That would also allow him to fight on longer, since he could heal the animals as they fought. Maybe he can heal the animals under his control?

Edit: I like the proportional healing factor, Kobold.

I personally like the idea of a healing tune.

Well, I won't be able to start on it until tomorrow morning, and I've already gotten seven votes. Plus I'm pretty sure I already know what Edgedancer's going to vote for, and since he's ahead in the poll anyway, I'm already plotting out the Unicyclist scene.

Then why is there no Moral Guardian option? :P Anyway, the Rending sounds good to me.

Oh no.

It's Metronome, isn't it? :o

You can't just kill the most powerful Epic in the game like that! Not without a little warning! Seriously, how else will we know how long we've left our chicken nuggets in the oven if you kill off Metronome?

We can always sell his corpse to the Knighthawk Foundry, so they can build really accurate wristwatches.

I assume she wouldn't be able to replicate Epic powers?

How detailed would the reason she gets be? For example: He did it to hide his weakness vs. He did it to hide that his weakness is X.

Does anyone mind if I make Nightshade's Shadows resistant to Epic powers?

Depends on how resistant you're talking about. If it's versus powers that depend on material (like Quicksilver can't manipulate it even if it was made from a sword) I don't see a problem, if it's complete anti-Epic that might be a bit questionable.

She could not replicate Epic powers. If she sits down ar some construction equipment she would know how to opperate it. If she had a Knighthawk mobile she could take it apart and modify it. That kind of thing.

She wouldn't be specific like that. It is more of she can sense how people mean the things they saw and their actions. If someone is lying, if they are genuine. If they are planning to betray someone. That kind of thing. If she sees something that somebody dropped she would know if it was left there on purpose or if it was innocently forgotten.

Alright, now I'm curious?

Assuming you meant my setting, I'm working on writing a superhero novel in which the supers are all really powerful.  Vis originally had the ability to move his force fields, which puts him on par with a standard powered hero.

So with the current vote at 5-3, it looks like I'd better get started on that Rending scene. I'll write the wedding later.

The vote may have looked very different if there was a Fantomah/Sky-Panther option. :P

How much of a power different that is depends on how strong the force-fields' movement is.

If there was a Fantomah-sky panther option, she would've broken the poll. Even people who aren't involved with this RP would've voted for her. Even people who aren't members of this site would've voted for her.

You can't beat sky-panthers. You just can't. :P

They are a pretty though nut to crack. (You are now morally obligated to include them in the RP:)

On another matter, what time is it in the Dalles? Portland is in the evening, Astoria apparently just had its sunset but the time in the Dalles hasn't really been mentioned yet. However, with undeniable timeskips from the Panda perspecive and given that Backtrack didn't arrive in the morning, so the day should be ending there as well.

(Hm….that's a bit out of Funtimes' element. Stuffed panthers, perhaps, but that's nowhere near as amazing as the real thing. Perhaps the Panda could help with that? Or—wait a second. Voidus? You got an Epic who can vacuum up all the big cats out of South America and rain them down on the Epics on the And Then They Died list?)

I think evening sounds reasonable.

If Steelheart is an Epic Superman, I see no reason why an Epic Fantomah can't be brought in.

Backtrack's going to get in a lot of trouble. He probably won't get a chance to actually go back to Portland until the game's next morning, and Lightwards ordered him to be back by evening or he'd send someone after him.

Same question from me. Nighthound, maybe? The only other one he has really any proper interaction with to warrant this job is Aldo and I think LW would like someone at his side that actually shows respect. (Lucentia maybe but she would just refuse,)

Fantomah's Epic will out-awesome every other Epic out there. People will be begging her to rule their cities. :P

:o Much as I agree it could happen, I don't know if The Dalles is ready for Nighthound yet.

Don't know yet. Lightwards is short on manpower, so he might simply stew and fume internally about Backtrack's absence once he remembers him, but might not actually send anyone.

Alternately, he might send Aldo with strict instructions to be there and back again in only a few hours. Depends on what's going on in The Dalles and how everyone feels about another short crossover between the two game threads.

EDIT: Yikes, triple ninja'd. Nighthound would make more sense, but I'm afraid Vondra couldn't lay eyes on Nighthound without ordering Arsenal to initiate a nuclear strike on the town. :P

Either one of those would make sense. And Vondra is a wise man. "Nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure" is the only sensible response to Nighthound.:P

I vote rending obviously.

On a positive note, if Nighthound went to the Dalles, Quicksilver would be able to kill him fairly easily.
