There was talk about that when he was first designed (I think by Kobold) but the power isn't in his "offical" profile and honestly that whole "shadow appears" deal wouldn't mesh well with our canon given all the new Epics we have, that did not see said shadow, even more so given that Fatebreaker himself has a child Epic that seems... let's say rather curious which would jar with that part even worse.

By the way, Twi I'm still waiting for that clobbering time.

It could be that the shadow only arrives at night, with this being it's first night in Portland. We could give the shadow a limit of one person per trip, or the shadow could lead Yin Yang to a waiting Lost One, who could knock him unconscious and take him to the isle.

Is there any reason why we aren't simply letting him start as a lost one instead of contrived and still borderline canon defying justifications (or in the case of a lost one magically knowing where to wait still a plothole)?

It's right there in his power profile. Anyway, as long as he doesn't go creating monsters that make Koloss jealous I don't really mind.

I still retain the right to call everyone that buys animals from him without means to control them themselves an idiot. Probably doesn't help that him selling his animals is mostly tell and we haven't seen anyone that's actually influential (so I'm not counting Soulswitch) own them.

I dunno, is Portland really stable enough to hold any major trade lines connected to one Epic? For example Corpsemaker could easily have stomped down Chi, if there was actually money in it.

How does that work? He would still need an animal to mix into there, so that's still a body that can jumble up the mix.

Ah' I see now. I didn't mean to have a hard limit like that. Okay, sounds good. :)

They do have means to control them. He gives them verbal control and tells them that they're now under their control. It wouldn't be major trade. He only trades sometimes. He does it more for pleasure and to expand his family. He is definitely a businessman though. Altermind has a couple of war animals he bought, but not much. He'd do some business with people out of town too. I don't think Corpsemaker is one to care much about money. Altermind just leaves Chi alone.

But it's a personality thing, not a physical trait.

Augh! Kobold! You changed your profile image! :P

I was beginning to wonder if facing the world as a homicidal green maniacal necromancer pony was impacting my image. :P I'm still not sure whether I'll stick with Steampunk Doctor Whooves, whether I'll use this awesome space oviraptor, or if I'll use my Kobold King OC. (I made avatars for him in 8 different emotions, which gives me flexibility. :P)

Those are all really cool actually. :)

If you're worried about facing the world as the most horrifyingly homicidal pony in existence, I could always outdo you and use the Obliteration pony as my avatar.

....

On second thought, I'm much happier posting as Doctor Funtimes. :P I like the Doctor Whooves avatar, by the way.

If I double-pug dared you to use the Obliteration pony as your avatar for a day, would your ego or your terror of Obliteration ultimately win out?   :P

Also, Mailliw: I thought you were Quiver with that Arrow avatar. Not that it isn't awesome, of course. :D

Show me the pugs or the dare remains forever hypothetical. :P

….wait, that's not how the verse goes? Huh. Must be one of those new translations. :P

In the context of Obliteration, I like yours better.

How long will your reign of terror... er, aesthetic alteration last?

That's not enough time for you to build up enough sunlight, right? Riiight?

...as a security precaution I'm going to have to ask that you keep your shirt on.

Whaaaat? C'mon, it's February. Do you really think it's sunny enough to get that much energy in the middle of winter? Relax; everything's going to be fine.*

*All answers are based on average sunlight duration and intensity levels in the Yukon province of Canada. TwiLyghtSansSparkles is not responsible for the subject of her avatar suddenly relocating to Arizona, nor is she required to report this incredibly relevant and helpful fact.

OK, Kobold, Think through this logically. What's the worst that could happen with a moderator going insane and soaking up enough energy to cause a nuclear blast?

TWILYGHTSANSSPARKLES I FORBID YOU FROM ENJOYING THE ARIZONAN HEAT.

You know, I'm co-leading a kids' program at the library where I'm interning. Today, I got to talking with the other leader. We'd both worked at public schools, you see, and we were both frustrated with the state of drug prevention programs. Essentially, we both believe it counterproductive.

"When you see a sign that says 'Keep off the grass,' what do you want to do?" she asked.

"I'm going to walk on the grass," I told her.

"And if I tell you not to cross that line?"

"I'm crossing the line."

So, Kobold, what were you saying about not enjoying the heat?

...Please enjoy the heat, TwiLyght. Frolic in the sunlight in as much or as little clothing as you like. Whatever you do, do not swaddle yourself in blankets and spend the next 24 hours camping in your basement with nothing but the glow of a computer to power you illuminate you. Do you hear me? Don't do that. That's an order.

Godlike power can be a burden sometimes. There's only so much internet surfing a you can do before you grow bored. Terribly bored. And honestly, I don't understand it. What is the point of the ability to vanquish cities if you can't do whatever you want?

There. It's decided. I will do whatever I want tonight.

I will eat pizza and watch Big Hero 6.

Whew. Crisis averted.

I mean... that movie's awesome. :D My family and I rewatched it again just the other night--I don't think we'll ever get sick of it.

Have you seen Feast, the short that played in front of it at the theaters?

This is my second viewing and it's just as good the second time. :D

YES! Oh my gosh, it was one of the cutest, sweetest, most heartfelt things I've ever seen. :D

Feast was amazing. Just purely, incredibly amazing. :D If I didn't know better, I'd say Pixar was behind it--the way they told such an adorable, emotionally engaging story without words and scarcely showing human faces fills me with a kind of awe I normally reserve for WALL-E and the opening ten minutes of Up.

Haha, that's actually what I thought might happen. :P Little Wilson said almost this exact same thing to me too. ;)

Well, if everyone else is changing their avatars....

I have to ask: What is yours? When I saw Kobold's change, I realized that I've had Jag's pony as an avatar way too long and that it was time to switch.

Wow. That's suspiciously similar to my family's plan tonight. :P:ph34r:

Which one was that? It sounds familiar, but I can't remember it.

Edit: I totally just remembered. The dog one, right?

It reminded me of my own dogs. A creature is lifted from desperation and given more than he could ever imagine—and when he sees that his human is hurting, he puts aside every ounce of self-interest to help him. It's beautiful. :D

You might have to challenge Quiver to a duel for the avatar.:P

I'm pretty sure mail-mi's is the Weighted Companion Cube from the Portal series of games.

Feast is about a Boston terrier who's adopted off the street by a kindly owner and is named Winston. The story is told entirely through the series of meals that Winston enjoys--which, while sounding like a strange way of telling a story, is absolutely beautiful in its execution. :D

Precisely. :D It reminds me a bit of old fairy tales where a traveler is kind to someone and is later helped out by that some person or animal. Good karma stories, basically.

(Were either of your pugs strays? I'm pretty sure you've mentioned such before.)
