Tulir he/him Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I'd probably post here first to get some constructive feedback, then EOO once it's finished and PM Twilyght the weakness. Or forget to PM her the weakness, then see a post like this a really long time after you created the Epic and realize that you still have to do that 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 Why first? To be honest, it's usually the last thing I do. Is there a particular reason why you add it first? Because whenever I use the creator, if I don't add the cutie mark first, it won't let me add it at all. It might just be my computer, though. Possibly joining, depending on the state of the Experiment RP. We shall see. Is there any place for an epic that can blink himself and others forward in time? He also might be able to see atium shadows, not sure yet... I'd probably post here first to get some constructive feedback, then EOO once it's finished and PM Twilyght the weakness. What Voidus said. Post her here so we can see if she's too similar to Timeport, and if so, how she could be modified….or if she might want to find Timeport and create the most terrifying couple ever. …on second thought, scratch that last part. We don't want to turn this RP into a full-fledged horror RP. Or forget to PM her the weakness, then see a post like this a really long time after you created the Epic and realize that you still have to do that Haha, no worries. I actually didn't come up with Quota's weakness until at least a month after I'd introduced him. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Haha, no worries. I actually didn't come up with Quota's weakness until at least a month after I'd introduced him. I helped her come up with it. Which perhaps makes up for the fact that until recently most of my Dalles Epics haven't even had weaknesses. 2
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Awesome, I will go add that into the background. How recent do you want it to be? He became an Epic a about a year after the first epics, Finalized his crew a year later, and started looking for a home the year after. So 4 years after Calamity.
Ashiok Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Chronis: Backstory unknown right now, probably accidentally timejumped herself into the future at RTyears:OOTseconds for five seconds, until she realized what was happening. Major power: Time hop: Chronis hops out of time with a pop. She decides on a time compression factor and temporal destination before she goes. She can bring a single person or object with her. While out of time, the world looks hazy and ethereal, and she can’t interact with any objects (except the ground). Real time is compressed/extended by the multiplier she chose (OOT seconds = RT Minutes or vice versa), The spoiler is me trying to limit it, but it just sounds strange on second readthrough but only has two modes. Change by single degrees of time such as years, days, months, weeks, hours, minutes and seconds or change by powers of two (two to the X seconds =2 to the Y power, no negatives). When she returns, she returns in the same exact position she was in. When out of time, one’s body does not change. Secondary: Touch of time: Chronis can touch a person, making them go on a jaunt through time. (can’t figure out how to balance this, help!) Tertiary: Timeless body: Chronis’ power has given her the ability to slow her body’s time. She does not age, and doesn’t need to sleep. Edited February 23, 2015 by Ashiok 6

Perhaps her time touch could be balanced by the addition of a cost to her? Maybe sending someone on a time jaunt forces her body to age just a little bit? Or maybe she can only send someone forward a set period of time (say, a day) which means she can't send someone to the past for a meeting with an angry Viking, and this person won't be able to report anything they see until the rest of the world has caught up with them? Also, there is a Lightsong pony. Now, when I created this pony, I thought about giving him a vest, or a cape. I tried them both. But then I realized what Lightsong would actually say, were he told to dress his best to meet the gin-fueled monkey: So I left it be. 5
Ashiok Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Oh, she can't send anything BACKWARDS in time, the time jaunting would be them going on a Time hop she set up. Hmm... Maybe she experiences what everyone Outside of Time feels, but compressed into the second she sends them. So if she sent someone forwards a realtime year, with time slowed down so that an OOT year was a realtime second, she'd experience every thought that went through their head over 31,536,000 years on a strange earth where they could interact with no objects. She probably learned not to do that though... Edited February 23, 2015 by Ashiok 1

Ashiok Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Hmm. Well, she WAS a science geek. After getting her powers while studying for a test, wishing for more time, stressing out until suddenly, she was in this strange new world with her textbook. She looked at the hourglass next to her, wondering if she had fallen asleep, and found that not only had the time not changed, it was barely moving! These were early days, Calamity wise, so she had no idea what was going on, but resolved to block out the time she should have spent studying trying to figure out what happened. Then she studied. The next day, the day of her final exam in physics, she was flipping out. She had stayed up all night studying her power, but she wasn't tired. She also hadn't studied. When the teacher came around to hand out the tests, she pushed him away, while thinking about how she wanted him gone. He disappeared with a pop, and she fainted from the random memories invading her head. For a while, she thought that she could only stretch time, not compress it. Therefore, whenever she jumped someone, she got a bunch of experiences in her head that weren't hers. She's totally schizophrenic, what with the memories of everyone she bounced flying around in her head. Also, probably some form of gender fluidity going on there. She can't tell which memories are hers or those of others anymore. EDIT: This is fun! Edited February 23, 2015 by Ashiok 3

Kobold King he/him Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Where's timeport? She's awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing her, her powers, and her schizophrenia in action. Timeport's in Portland, but there's so much going on there that new players are encouraged to join in The Dalles instead. Bear in mind though that with current plans being the way they are, it's quite possible that Timeport will outlive the Portland thread. You'd have to ask mail-mi to be sure, though.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 Where's timeport? In Portland.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Portland. Edgedancer, would you mind if Blackwave received a bounty of Bloody Mary? He won't actually have to kill her or anything. I just need a plausible reason for him to get to Astoria.
Ashiok Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 What's the difference between Dallies and Astoria beyond one being new? Also, would it be feasible to extend her tertiary to being almost Invincibility? Vulnerable to instantly life ending things, but a second to her body is a year to us, so it takes a while for her to die, or is that too much.
Voidus Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Astoria has a much higher power level, most Epics there have a PI of some kind. If you wanted to go with a PI I'd recomend Astoria, the Epics in the Dalles are a bit more vulnerable.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 @Dawnwielder Don't know if this has been asked. But What replaces the things Lock puts into storage? And what's the upper limit of Size? Can he remove things he can't see? Things like Oxygen? I'm picturing him making a large Vacuum. Not sure why he would need to.
Ashiok Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Alright then. The Dallies it is. Oh, if anyone wants another epic to appear with her, lemme know. I'm going to have her have disappeared five years ago, and reappear now. Possibly with another person (friend or enemy, epic or vanilla, I don't know). Either way, it won't be until tomorrow at the earliest, and Tuesday is more likely. I'm going to take a day to work on her concept more. Oh, also, when she pops back into time on other objects, the parts of the object where she was get shunted out of time, permanently.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 *Facepalm. A quick search tells me that you were the one claiming Hawaii, not Newan. So Tulir! Would you mind if Blackwave had a semi-permanant alliance with your high Council? He needs somewhere to lay low and spend all his loot and party, and in return he keeps Hawaii safe form interlopers and so forth. Newan had a different island called Order which is where the Chaos Epics ruled.
Sirce Luckwielder he/him Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 @Dawnwielder Don't know if this has been asked. But What replaces the things Lock puts into storage? And what's the upper limit of Size? Can he remove things he can't see? Things like Oxygen? I'm picturing him making a large Vacuum. Not sure why he would need to. I always pictured it being replaced by air basically. His power acts like this. He focuses on the object and based on time he needs a specific time to put it in Storage. Once he has had the time limit met it pops out of existence all at once, no in between. If he stops putting it in Storage he will need to start over again. Something lime a bullet takes less than a second, if it is flying he needs to know it's trajectory too. Something like a car or a safe would take a longer, probably thirty seconds to a minute. Anything bigger is usually too big for him to care about, but he has a few things already stored. When he went on his first rampage (is that called the rending?), he could do things a little faster with all of that new power and he placed a few buildings and such inside Storage. If he were to want to drop a car as an attack he wouldn't have the time it was falling to put it in Storage. He would need to bring it to the threshold of being put there and then find some way to push it off a cliff. Once it was falling he could then put it in Storage. So yes, he could theoretically put something he can't see in Storage. He would just need to mentally get it there before walking away. Or, if you were thinking of something like a wallet he would need to know basically where it was, see the bulg and such. Removing something like oxygen would be useless if he replaces it with Oxygen, water on the other hand, would work.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Kobold! I found Blackwave's pony Code. When I originally posted his picture, I named the Picture his Code: nGX1L0LO3aJ00003NYOc9li1D395G3l000003PZ3f0000UG00013F03PZ4703PZ Though I've been experimenting with it, and I'm not certain this will stay as Blackwave. EDIT: This is the New Blackwave. Just a few small tweaks. mEPV70IO3aJ00000AOc9Yqn1B335G3l000005Ic3f0000UG00003F05Ic4705Ic9405Ic Edited February 23, 2015 by The Only Joe
Edgedancer he/him Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Bummer, I hope all goes well and you can join us again soon. It's a diamond formation: x x x x But now Desolation is in the center of it, Hawk on the left, Smasher on the right, Metalmech in back, and Jag at the front. It's actually been almost a week since they defeated the Epics in Connell. They spent two days there, a day traveling to DuPont, and then a couple days there, and a day to travel to Astoria. They managed to get a Hummer for Des, but they didn't have a lot of time to weapon isle it much, so there's only a machine gun on top. Their commandos are gathered from the jails of both cities, and they choose the best of the ones most suited to hand to hand combat, light weapons, and heavy weapons. They've completely refilled their commandos, now with a unit for Desolation too, so there's 25 of them. In the battle at Connell only about 6-8 of the original 20 Commandos survived, so no, until further notice, I'm not particularly attached to any. I don't think Epics still run prisons, at least not for Vanillas. Not only do they not have a reason to but it also costs them ressources. Chronis: Backstory unknown right now, probably accidentally timejumped herself into the future at RTyears:OOTseconds for five seconds, until she realized what was happening. Major power: Time hop: Chronis hops out of time with a pop. She decides on a time compression factor and temporal destination before she goes. She can bring a single person or object with her. That primary power seems like it could get... impractical. Have her make one jump to big and you have to go on a hiatus for a month upwards. The secondary I have no clue how to balance given that it can just remove characters from the story. Giving her the memories of the people she sends may make it potentially more powerful, if she can use it for reconnaissance. Portland. Edgedancer, would you mind if Blackwave received a bounty of Bloody Mary? He won't actually have to kill her or anything. I just need a plausible reason for him to get to Astoria. Wouldn't mind.
Newan he/him Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Nope I'm not using Hawaii! I have an epic who can control magma. He created his own archipelago called Order. Speaking of my other epics, I think I'm going to introduce Blastaway in Astoria soon. He'll only be there for a few posts, and then he'll leave for a while. I'm going to hold off on introducing Lillian Razor or Bringer right now. Lillian (rogue epic hunter) doesn't really make sense in the context of Astoria or the Dalles, and Bringer will be more fun if he enters the scene after we know the other characters pretty well. Updated bio for Blastaway, agent of chaos: Blastaway is literally an agent of the epic Chaos. Chaos knows Blastaway's weakness. Blastaway doesn't resent this relationship. He might complain, but he always does what he is told. He's prompt and effective. These qualities have earned him a position as Chaos's most trusted agent. Blastaway's current mission is to find the fugitives Planeshift, Memori, and Current Event, and kill them. Appearance: Planeshift is in his late twenties, but appears to be in his early twenties because of the way his body resets every time he reincarnates. Hey, at least he wasn't a little kid. He has thin features and silvery grey hair. He looks kind of like a mix between Crash from Scott Pilgrim vs the World and Quicksilver from X-Men: Days of Future Past. Every time he comes back from the dead, he's wearing the same clothes: a black cape, a black shirt with a purple Decepticon symbol, black skinny jeans, a black and white checkerboard-pattern belt with a seatbelt buckle, and two knives in sheaths at his belt (a bowie knife and a machete). He hates the cape and usually doffs it as soon as he regenerates, but he's quite proud of the knives. It was really difficult to thread the sheaths onto that belt. Personality: Jeremy Grant isn't actually depressed. When he was a kid, his two best friends both went emo. Jeremy pretended to be sad just to fit in and after a while, the deception stuck. He's perpetually complaining and acting like he has the worst life ever, but he actually doesn't have it that bad. Even though he ended up separating from those friends and drifting between crowds at school, he still kept the perpetually-upset personality. He still has nightmares where he is exposed to be a fraud, and is then rejected. Weakness: smiling. If someone seems to be going in for a hug or leading up to the punchline of a great joke, he will self-destruct as quick as possible before he smiles and reveals that deep down, he isn't miserable. Powers: Self-destruct. He can explode at will. If only has a second to prepare, it will injure people next to him. If he has a longer time to charge up, he would completely incinerate anyone standing next to him. His upper limit for charging his power would be the destruction of a large building, or maybe a helicarrier. So this isn't Obliteration-level destruction of an entire city. Reincarnation. Blastaway's true power comes from the fact that he is better at coming back to life than almost any other epic. He suffers no memory loss, increased confusion, additional craziness, or extra personalities. He can even control where he will reincarnate. When he dies, everything goes black. He receives no sensory input, and all he can decide is which direction and how far. He will then appear there with no delay. So he can't sit there for a while and plot out a plan, but he does get to choose exactly where he will appear. The longer time Blastaway takes to charge up his self-destruction, the further away he can reincarnate. If he is killed quickly in a surprise attack, his body burst into flame rather than exploding. It will cause only minor burns to those near him. He will have to reincarnate within a few hundred feet of the location of his death. Blastaway uses his two powers together as a very explodey method of teleportation. It's quick, destructive, and very easy to track. Reasoning I decided to make a couple of changes. First, I wanted to make it very clear that Blastaway is not actually depressed. I'm not talented enough to write a character who is depressed, the subject of jokes, and not offensive. I think I could do any two of those, but not all three together. So I changed him and his backstory, and then his weakness also had to be changed. (It used to be hugs. Now it's smiling. Cheesy weaknesses=best weaknesses.) I also added a more detailed description. I wanted him to have a bowie knife, and I wanted him to have two knives, but I also wanted his weaponry to be a little bit mismatched. Hence the machete. The cape was just because I like the image of him always appearing, then immediately throwing off his cape. Decepticon shirt because he's old enough to remember when Transformers were awesome (pre-Bayhem), plus his powers are splodey enough to make Michael Bay cry and pee his pants at the same time. I also changed the powers just slightly. I let him travel farther if he charged his explosion more. I did this just to encourage him to make bigger explosions. Oregon must fall! One more thing: I really hope that in the RP, when other characters realize that Blastaway can fight until he's a bloody pulp, then explode himself, one of them will exclaim, "Blood and ashes!" 1

If so, he could take a bit of time and make deep thin Sinkholes openup beneath people, hen fill in said holes. He'd be very good at assasination and containment.
