mail-mi he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) Okay, so now that Astoria is officially up, I need to fully flesh out my characters. Epic Name: Wandersail Primary Power: Control over wind, she has a radius of 5 miles and can control wind speed and direction. Primary Passive Power: She knows exactly where she is on the planet, coordinates, she knows the cardinal directions, etc. Secondary Passive Power: She has a hardened skin of air that protects her from anything. She can turn this on and off, or turn sections of it on and off. ---------------------------------- Epic Name: I have no idea. Primary Power: He can control how much others love and hate him, however, if he makes someone love/hate him, someone of equal influence/importance to that person feels the opposite. Backstory: Was one of the kids Mommy picked up, until he gained powers and saw Pan's shadow, and got transported to Pan's island. Edited February 18, 2015 by mail-mi 2
Kobold King he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Lightwards: Do you really think that pathetic costume can fool me, little vanilla? Nathan: Well, I did...right up until you chuckled like that...and now I'm thinking I should just...get out of here... Lightwards: "Look at this security camera feed! I'm about to sit down, there's no tack, and then right when I'm sitting down, there's a tack! ...What? You don't see it? Look carefully. Here there's no tack, and then--she moves! Funtimes moves, right when I sit down. I don't know how she does it, but I know that before she moves there's nothing and after she moves there's A TACK. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!" 5
mail-mi he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Actually, I think it would be cooler if Wandersail's PI was a healing PI, and the wind rushed into the wound and sealed it up when she is hurt. 1

I concur, and would like to add that this would be "made of awesome," as the kids say. Thank you. Also, a few updated weaknesses. Implied Firefight spoilers: Sharkbait's weakness from this day forth is "being submerged underwater." This puts him in the awkward position of an Epic who constantly needs to be close to his weakness for his powers to be useful, which is part of why he joined the most powerful pirate crew he could find. Glamour's weakness is the absence of music. If he loses his headphones or is otherwise separated from some sort of musical rhythm, his weakness is activated. This harks back to his adolescence, when he used loud music to distract himself from his parents' particularly nasty divorce. He began to dread silence--or more specifically the arguments and hateful things he could hear when not blaring songs through his headphones. Deathwish's weakness is... something. I'm still working that out, but one way to get around his High Epic status is to inflict blunt force trauma upon him. His prime invincibility only kicks in when his skin is separated, so slapping him, punching him, or giving him a concussion is definitely possible. Vondra has a contingency plan for his assassination that involves Arsenal outfitting a team with rifles that fire rubber bullets. Arsenal's weakness... has been changed, but I'm not revealing it here just yet. Sorry. 4

Sorry. I believe the term you're looking for is "made of win." Next up on RAFOing for Fun and Profit with Kobold King.... 1

Sirce Luckwielder he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 It wasn't until I started seeing the Pixar quotes going around that I realized just how much like Dory Doctor Funtimes is. 4
Kobold King he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I believe the term you're looking for is "made of win." Next up on RAFOing for Fun and Profit with Kobold King.... That one fits. Hey, I just revealed two weaknesses and an exploitable way around a PI free of charge. I'm well within my rights to [REDACT] anything I please. It wasn't until I started seeing the Pixar quotes going around that I realized just how much like Dory Doctor Funtimes is. * Lightwards' dinosaurs banging on a door * Funtimes: Who is it? Nathan: Get over here! We need to escape! Funtimes: Sorry, you'll have to come back later. We're trying to escape... 2

Sirce Luckwielder he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) I was reading up on the old Pixar quotes, taking a walk down memory lane, when I found this gem. "What if Andy gets another dinosaur? A mean one? I just don't think I can take that kind of rejection?" Remind you of anyone? Edited February 18, 2015 by Sirce Dawnwielder 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 All right, just so I've got this pinned down before I start his intro post…. Epic Name: The Unicyclist Appearance: He wears a kilt and a Darth Vader mask while unicycling and playing a flaming bagpipe. Primary Power: Summoning animals with songs from his bagpipes and commanding them to do his bidding. Secondary Power: Minor to mid-range flame control; channeled through his bagpipes. I'm considering giving him a healing factor so he'll be able to stand up to Nighthound. Thoughts? 3
Mailliw73 he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 So this will be a post where I comment on things in the various threads as I catch up. What Happened in the Dalles: Newan, that was a fantastic entrance. Seriously, bravo. Architect is... interesting Shiney Sparkle definitely suits her name. Mike has fairly powerful powers Sweet Glamour scene A lot of cool new Epics. Vondra is definitely awesome I like Frostfire The Connell scenes have been some of my favorites to work on. Possibly because I have a bunch of OP Epic's rampaging, but hey, that's what Astoria's for. Mike is very powerful. The Destructors needed a bit more...destructive powers.

Perhaps a kind of wave of healing is emitted when he plays his bagpipes, but it heals him faster than others? To keep with the theme of bagpipes=awesome. 2

I'm considering giving him a healing factor so he'll be able to stand up to Nighthound. Thoughts? Sounds good to me! I'm trying to think of a good twist for his healing factor, just to fit in with his themes more. Maybe he could absorb health from the creatures under his control, like Sharkbait? Or, maybe his ability to heal is proportional to the number of people watching him? That would fit in with his past of drawing people's attention. 2

I love this guy. He is pretty sweet. Here is anorher bit to add to the Pixar stuff going around: Hey, I know a joke! Nighthound walks up to a building and says, "I forgot I placed mines in here and now I am dead." Ha! It is funny because Nighthound gets dead. 6

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 The vote for Financier wedding vs. Unicyclist Rending is still 4-2, Unicyclist's favor. Anyone else want to cast a vote?
Mailliw73 he/him Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 So, I just thought of this today and wanted to put it out there. Voidus, you likely already have an idea like this, though. I was thinking of a hypnotist Epic and how freaky and awesome that'd be. Hey could hypnotize their subjects to serve them, fight for them, kill themselves, and any other number of horrifying things. Just an idea if anyone wants it. I'd take it, but with three RPs in the works, all the characters I have here, and Elimination, I don't really have the time right now. 1

Surprisingly I don't actually, I had Simon who can kind of do that but his subject is conscious and in control mentally, he just manipulates their bodies.
