TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 I would like to point out that nearly half our Valentines ships involved dinosaurs. I'm not sure whether this is awesome or disturbing. Probably both. Maybe it means we never outgrew the dinosaur phase? And not one of those dinosaur ships involved a dinosaur romancing a fellow dinosaur. ….or maybe it means we….yeah, I got nothing. 1
Fatebreaker he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) So, Astoria has become a reality. New Thread, New Epic. Meet Pan: Leader of The Lost Primary Power: Flight Secondary: Gifting Flight and enhanced reflexes. Tertiary: The Pan sword: A sword that can cut through anything except another blade. This sword can absorb massive amounts of impact and is never dulled. If dropped he can summon it and it will fly to his hand. Passives: Danger sense: Similar to Spidey-sense, limited sense of impending danger. Highly accelerated healing: causes him to never age and makes him very hard to kill. Shadow: His shadow can become a copy of him, able to fight, fly, etc. Enhanced body: Highly enhanced speed, reflexes, and strength. Passive Gifting: people near him don't age. Immunity to illusions. 5' 3", with dirty blond hair, often with leaves or twigs in it. He appears to be a 15 year old boy, thin and limber, with an impish grin and burning green eyes. He wears ragged trousers with holes and tears, a faded green t-shirt, and no shoes. You could almost mistake him for a regular kid, were it not for the leather sword belt he wore over his shoulder. And the cutlass. Pan lives on a tropical island off the coast of Oregon. Crafted for him by an Epic, is is perpetually cloaked in fog and is nearly impossible to discover, as it moves. He lives there with his crew, The Lost: a group of child epics who treat him as their leader. They live as they please, wild and rambunctious, a perpetual thorn is the sides of the other Epics of coastal Oregon. Edited February 15, 2015 by Fatebreaker 2
Voidus Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I don't know how realistic giving anyone multiple PIs is, prof is stated to be unique in this regard and even he only has two, one incomplete. You've given Pan Precog, Healing and enhanced body abilities as well as gifting and a slew of other abilities.
Fatebreaker he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) I was thinking his healing wasn't strong enough to warrant as a PI, just enough to give him an edge. But if we were to get rid of one, which one do you think he should keep? Edited February 15, 2015 by Fatebreaker
Voidus Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I'd keep the healing, enhanced reflexes and speed border on precog powers anyway but they're not quite as foolproof so they're not a PI.
Fatebreaker he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) Sounds good. Edit: Fixed Edited February 15, 2015 by Fatebreaker 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Okay, remember how Kobold said he wanted Darkrose's weakness to be a specific cupcake recipe, but he couldn't figure how an Epic could possibly be scared of a cupcake? Well, I have the answer. Sorry for the orange dots and other discrepancies. Chrome wasn't letting me download it as a single file, so I had to download, edit, and upload it panel by panel. Well, that just explains everything. Clearly Calamity's Cupcacke is the leader of the sweet based Epics Voidus is currently working on. If I were participating in What Happened in Astoria, right now I'd be creating a vanilla character. Remember how in Steelheart it mentions the thriving trade in Epic DNA? There's a line that mentions how some people harvest DNA from live Epics, and then secretly sell them on the black market. Can you imagine a man who covertly takes samples of Astoria's most dangerous Epics? He would have to be Astoria's resident badchull/super agent. Remember how I said it's essentially impossible to keep secrets from Bloody Mary in Astoria? "Hey, Moby?" "I told you not to call me that, Slaughterhouse. What is it?" "Just thought you should know that you have one less hair than usual. You had 108,763 hairs on that pretty scalp of yours yesterday. You let that sweet old lady in here... and now you have 108, 762." "Um... what?" "Do you think this is a coincidence? You should have let me butcher that grandma when we had the chance!" "You memorized how many hairs are on my head?" "Aren't you in the slightest concerned about her getting into your hair? She could steal your DNA and build machines out of you!" "I'm far more concerned with the fact that you've MEMORIZED THE HAIRS ON MY HEAD." Seems like Slaughterhouse really is dedicated to his queen. I bet it was his favourite hair as well Could she have gotten those from Cricket's DNA? It occurs to me that Lucentia is just snotty and passive aggressive enough to be GLaDOS. I dunno GLaDOS got more of a sarcastic streak... and neurotoxin. So, Astoria has become a reality. New Thread, New Epic. Meet Pan: Leader of The Lost Primary Power: Flight Secondary: Gifting Flight and enhanced reflexes. Tertiary: The Pan sword: A sword that can cut through anything except another blade. He lives there with his crew, The Lost: a group of child epics who treat him as their leader. They live as they please, wild and rambunctious, a perpetual thorn is the sides of the other Epics of coastal Oregon. Looking at him again I realize that the fact his gang is made up from Epics makes his gifting kind of pointless. Immunity to illusions is also a somewhat strange power that goes into the same vein as the discussion we had about CM's power leveler. How strong would that healing be?
Voidus Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Remember how I said it's essentially impossible to keep secrets from Bloody Mary in Astoria? I'm still not sure why exactly that is? There's not much in her listed powerset that she could use.
Edgedancer he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I'm still not sure why exactly that is? There's not much in her listed powerset that she could use. It's a combination of her power to assimilate blood and to use it to connect different points in space. With the time she has been in Astoria she has infected pretty much everyone with the exception of some Epics. Through that she got a surveillance system that essentially covers the entire city. Although, they don't use it to its full effectiveness so the population doesn't become aware of it.
Aonar he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 A little off topic, but this just happened while discussing a Kingkiller Elimination game: (Don't ask how we got so far off topic. ) (Discussing Doomsday, an Epic little wilson RP'd as during an Elimination Game, green is me, blue is Wilson:) Clearly, Doomsday’s weakness is acts of self sacrifice. Oh, gosh. Can you imagine an actual Epic having that weakness….It would suck. Majorly. The first random vanilla with a hero complex they met would be able to curbstomp them. Although, it would let you write a scenario where Voldemort is an Epic… Yep…..Oh my gosh. That’s brilliant. This now needs to happen. It really does. It’s perfect. It makes so much sense. And then Harry became a High Epic wishing to take revenge, and was guided by Knight-Templar Epic Prof Dumbledore. It all works. It does. It’s awesome. You should make this a thing.I could try, but I don’t know if my writing skills are up to the task. So yeah. Harry Potter/Steelheart crossover fics are now a thing. Stay tuned. Anyways, a couple quick questions for various people, in preparation for RPing as Azrael:Edge: Has Lucentia done anything with the Astoria Column? 'Rael's first instinct is going to be to look for a good vantage point, and that seems like a good spot.Voidus (and anyone else who has/wants to have any say in the various members of the LoS): Which shadow Epics can 'Rael steal for underlings in Astoria? 1

Why don't we just crossover Steelheart with everything? The more awesome the better. (That weakness would make sense for Voldemort. the question is what Harry's and Dumbledore's would be.) Definitely, it's also one of the places one of the "minor" Epic factions of Astoria would gather, which means there would be some kind of facilities around the column. I can work out something more detailed for you or give you some creative freedom, whatever you prefer. Dang it. I was going to ask to use that once I finished my Epic. Edge, would Lucienta let minor Epics live in astoria as long as they didn't cross her? or would they have to swear allegiance? It somewhat pedends what you mean with "minor" but as long as they don't cause trouble and aren't openly hostile it should be okay. By the way, the RP really needs more Corpsemaker, the guy is pretty awesome. Edited February 15, 2015 by Edgedancer 2

By the way, the RP really needs more Corpsemaker, the guy is pretty awesome. Name: Switchfoot Primary: Ability to instantly switch places (teleport) with any other person he sees, epic or vanilla, irregardless of range. Spatial orientation (direction, speed, etc) is preserved. Example: Switchfoot is being chased by someone, decides to throw himself off a cliff and twist around, switching with the person to make them fall instead. Or he holds a gun up to his own head, switching with anyone in sight just after pulling the trigger. Or somebody shoots at him, he switches places, causing the assailant to shoot his/herself. Secondary: Limited precognition and enhanced reflexes (not sure if I want that or just make his primary into an 'automatic reaction to danger'). This Epic was suggested to me by one of our dear readers, and I like it. As for Corpemaker, I need to figure out who he can kill soon.

I did originally have it in my notes that there are no teleporters native to Astoria based on the fact that the Metal doesn't like them around but I suppose that the line of sight limitation makes him harmless enough, so you get my okay. It seems like a fun ability to play with, all things considered. And just as a general reminder for an Epic originating from Astoria. As a side note, ironically enough the danger sense does bring him rather close to high Epic status, even if he isn't very powerful. Anything planned for the MEE attack?
Guest Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 @Aonar, I claimed (sort of) Midnight Tears and NightBlade (I think I got that name wrong). I'd love to be your minions though.
Edgedancer he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 And then the great scilence descended again. "I'd love to be your minions."-Snoop2015 How I'm totally going to imagine the Shadow league from now on: In other news, in honor of Astoria starting I'm back to the Deathgale pony. 3
Guest Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 And then the great scilence descended again. How I'm totally going to imagine the Shadow league from now on: Heh-heh-heh. Why don't I just emasculate the Shadow League before they even start. Yes...that would work...
Edgedancer he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Heh-heh-heh. Why don't I just emasculate the Shadow League before they even start. Yes...that would work... Heads up, it could have been worse. I also got working pony pictures back in my profiles. 3
Guest Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 That one is nice. Perhaps if we do collab Shadows posts, that can be our logo. I noticed the picture change. It looks better now.
Edgedancer he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Who's next in Astoria? There isn't exactly an order yet, given that most people didn't get their first post in yet. If you want something to happen I could let one of the authorities (most likely the Metal) investigate what Brightdeath did.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 I still need to write something up for the Church of the Singularity.
Edgedancer he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 That sounds good. I'll get on it then. Just give me some time. Where I live the carneval just happens to be in high season. I still need to write something up for the Church of the Singularity. I eagerly await his mad rambling wisdom. So Sirce made a proposition to me and I'm not going to tell you the details myself until it's settled but it might be better to not describe the sky before the topic is settled.

So….no sermon on how the sky itself sometimes has the clouds form into the image of Savior Zero? (The service was going to take place inside, so avoiding describing the sky won't be a problem.) 1
Kobold King he/him Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Unrelated, but since I'm a slave to my baser instincts (read: making pony comics), I ponified a portion of the (in?)famous Cocoa Puffs stories, based on a prompt by TwiLyghtSansSparkles. I hope you enjoy, because trying to put a rifle in a pony's hooves isn't nearly as easy as it sounds. Split into four sections because my computer is dumb slow. 6

I especially liked the way Sam demonstrated her dominance over Calamity's Cupcake. 1
