So this tutorial will have mid-range Epics as it's permanent residents?

I think so, yes.

It may be quite interesting to build up certain Epics and let people challenge them with their own Epics in a duel like Mailliw was saying with the MBI RP.

That'd be fun. Maybe we could have another thread that was entirely for OP battles?

I'm thinking of a telekinetic and telepathic Epic for Tutorialland.

Looks good Winter! I look forward to seeing him in WHIAPOYUNALBWSBF (What Happened In A Place Of Yet Undisclosed Name And Location But Will Surely Be Fantasmagorical)

Here's a few suggestions....

Moses Lake, WA. A smallish town with a large gang problem before Calamity, it has a small enough area for players to bump into each other, but large enough to roam. There are a few nicer suburbs, a decent downtown area, and some bad neighborhoods. Let's assume that whichever Epic got their powers first had the lake dredged, because that thing ALWAYS smelled like dead fish. <_<

Post Falls, ID. Sort of a sleepy little tourist town, this place has a lake, pine trees, and lots of cute shops for marauding Epics to loot.

Douglas, WY. A small town on the prairie with no mall or Walmart, but a jackalope statue in the center of town and the best county fair I've ever seen.

Tucson, AZ. This is where we send the Epics we don't like. A city in the middle of the freaking desert, with a few malls and some good stores, but very little to do. But that's okay! What Tucson lacks in entertainment, it more than makes up for with blazing sunshine, searing heat, and old people who enjoy their retirement by driving VERY SLOWLY.

Why do I get the feeling that you've lived in every one of those towns? :P

Twi, are you sure you want your current residence to become populated with Epics who are there solely to practice?:P

This entire RP is set in the future. By the time Calamity arrives, I'll be several states away from my current location, so those Epics can have at it. :P

Also Anti-Gravity Möibus Loop.

I kind of like this too, having just a city with areas where random stuff is happening (Gravity is flipped, oxygen is removed) could provide a cool scene for Epic battles to take place.

Like Calamityville sorta?

Wow. 29 hours and already on Page 10. :P

Yeah, but with stuff other than gravity shifts. Or we could just decide to heck with it and invent an Epic university on the moon with practice rooms :P

(As an aside, you are all awesome and I wish I could upvote you some more but Quota has caught me in his unforgiving grip once more :( )

He should enjoy his tyranny while he can.

I like the Hunger Games idea. It lets it keep from getting old and for renewing it with each round. The different laws of physics and reality breaking is cool too, as long as nobody takes it to be a deux ex machina where they are suddently saved by random things happening in the environment and not their own skills and powers.

Perhaps this could be set up by Calamity. He could be deciding on a replacement for Regalia. As far as I know she was the number one Epic in communication with him. This could be a battle to decide who gets his favor. Regalia wasn't even a High Epic, so we don't need to have crazy overpowered Epics to compete. Calamity has such a wide power base that he could reverse the time and space and create any kind of subdimension that he wanted.

Sirce, would you mind spoilering that last post? I think almost all the players here have read the book, but there are visitors who haven't. And as Winter pointed out, this game is set two years before Steelheart.

Edit: Spoilered. Just in case.

I like all of these ideas. I would love seeing an axe battle between Timeport and Voidknight, a Koschei/Mommy conversation, and a Reader/Sam snark-off. :P

Backtrack meeting Koschei, Metronome fighting Steelheart, when we don't have to worry about continuity or canon there's a lot of fun stuff we could do :D

All these suggestion would be pretty awesome to see. :D

We could actually do a Cormac/Milton/Cardnial vs. Dark rose fight.

Though Cormac was a CHull even before Calamity. A bully, a lot like steelheart.

Somehow Cormac being a bully doesn't surprise me. <_<

For the record, it's possible to guess Darkrose's weakness from the RP proper. Anyone care to hazard a guess or two?

I'd like to warn everyone that Kobold is about to crest 9000 upvotes in 34 upvotes, and I'll have to post a certain over-abused meme in the "New Reputations Thread".

Fun fact: If Cormac tried to bully pre-Calamity Funtimes, she would react the same way she reacted to CorpseMaker. She would insist upon calling him Jeffrey. Just because.

From the RP or from the Mirrorverse fic?

I'd read that fanfic. :P

Both, but mainly the RP. (Darkrose will never, ever become canon, but after I wrote an offhand line I realized it could detail Sam's weakness if she were ever to become an Epic.)

How far back was this line?
