Kobold King he/him Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I can see this happening. Though what I really want is a re-enactment of the climax of Raiders of the Lost Ark, where the Ark is opened and God's glory is revealed and Nighthound has his face melted off. And it doesn't get better. New Autumn post up. There is never a wrong time for hugs. Not even when the town is being invaded by flying pigs and sentient pandas. In Which It Is Conclusively Revealed That Backtrack's Glasses Are Literally Shipping Goggles. 2

"love is in the air" Seems like it´s time for Shiny to prove her worth. In Which It Is Conclusively Revealed That Backtrack's Glasses Are Literally Shipping Goggles. Seems like pink is close enough to rose-tinted. So King K, you want to put up a Backtrack post first? Also, what did we settle on concerning Lightwards powers post resurection?
Kobold King he/him Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 "love is in the air" Seems like it´s time for Shiny to prove her worth. Seems like pink is close enough to rose-tinted. So King K, you want to put up a Backtrack post first? Also, what did we settle on concerning Lightwards powers post resurection? Yep, I'm trying to get a post up for him now. I confess I don't remember what you're talking about. Are you referring to the suggestion that Lightwards' zombie limit goes up with his number of personal resurrections? Because I don't think that was ever canonized.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I'd be glad to have this happen. The whole point of the Fugitives is to show minor epics trying to outwit high epics. In this case, I will just end the post with something like, "The eastern wall of the city was in sight. Then all hell broke loose." Then you can describe what your epics do to the van. I'll probably write the post tomorrow, but no promises. I really don't know quite how busy New Year's Eve will be. Memori's limitations: Memori's power does work on Epics, although she has trouble suppressing the memories of the strong-willed for very long. If someone knows something very well, or has strong beliefs about it, or is obsessed with it, or remembers it very often, Memori has trouble suppressing it for long. If she tried to make Frequency forget that he ever wanted to take over the Dalles, I doubt it would even hold for a minute. If she tried to suppress someone's memory of how to walk, it would only hold for a few seconds. If she repeatedly tries to erase the same memory, it will be re-emerge more quickly each time. Also, as I mentioned in the RP, her weakness is sheep noises. If somebody makes a sheep noise, everyone who heard the noise gets all of their memories back. That sounds good to me. Part 1 of 3 of the first section of the Destructors in Connell is up. Mail-mi and Voidus have the next two parts.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 "love is in the air" Seems like it´s time for Shiny to prove her worth. I'm not sure it's "love" so much as "Okay, there's an Epic flirting with me, and she could explode my head if I don't flirt back…seems like the smart thing to do here is flirt back."

We never said yes but we never said no either, whch leaves us or at least me with having no clue what the effect would be. I'm not sure it's "love" so much as "Okay, there's an Epic flirting with me, and she could explode my head if I don't flirt back…seems like the smart thing to do here is flirt back." ... ... Did you just bring logic into shipping? You of all people? I think we just swtched roles. Densifying Is that a real word?

I think we just swtched roles. Is that a real word? I think it's a neat idea, but I'm afraid it's too late to introduce to the game by this point. He's had too many resurrections. So... if it were Nighthound flirting with Autumn instead of Shiny Sparkle, would Autumn have played along, or tried to blow up the butcher's shop to finish him off once and for all?

And if it were Nighthound flirting, Autumn would nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. 1

I'm pretty sure that's how you react to anything Nighthound does. Nighthound's flirting? Nuke the entire site from orbit. Nighthound's harassing someone on the street? Nuke the entire site from orbit. Nighthound cuts someone off in traffic? Nuke the entire site from orbit. Nighthound tries to buy a package of Skittles from a vending machine? Nuke the entire site from orbit. Taste the rainbow, you slontze. 2
Mailliw73 he/him Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Is that a real word? I made it up as a term that Smasher would use, but my phone dictionary says that it's a real word… "Make something more dense"

If it's horrifying and nonsensical (Lightwards views kissing his beloved's forehead as "too intimate"; Nighthound is…well, Nighthound), yes. And thus Shiny Sparkle was hailed as the savior of Oregon. Oh, Oregon was destroyed, of course. But she nuked Nighthound, and that was all the evidence anyone needed that she was the most heroic of heroes.

Mailliw73 he/him Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Happy New Year(an hour ago) from Utah! Since I didn't have any plans tonight, I started Doctor Who on Netflix. I watched the first three episodes. I have to say, I'm kinda confused about it, probably from reading what you guys have said about it and not actually being far enough along to actually understand what that means. I...like(I think?) it. I can't really decide. :/ It's kinda weird, but it's also kinda cool, and I think I'll keep watching. I just have one question: Do the special effects/costumes get better?
Edgedancer he/him Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 A very good decision. Did you start with the first season of the new series, with 9 (Eccleston) and Rose (piper)?

Don't worry, that's the exact reaction I had, at first. It starts getting good around episode 6. The effects do get better at a slow and steady rate. By series 3 you don't really notice how bad they are anymore. By series 6, they're top notch. But yeah, the Slitheen look pretty terrible.

Right the Slitheen, I forgot about those. *shudders* But hey, in ye olden days they had to cobble together monsters with random stuff lying around, like toilet plungers... *looks at edisode 6* Oh, hi Dalek how´s the exterminating going. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 The best way to get through Ye Olden Episodes of Doctor Who is to not focus on the special effects. (I would give the same advice to anyone watching Once Upon a Time*.) They're pretty terrible, but I'd say the stories make them worth it. This also goes for Classic episodes like The Five Doctors and Genesis of the Daleks. Terrible, terrible special effects (the former has Cybermen played by actors wearing metallic bodysuits and metal masks) but such good stories. And, like Newan said, the special effects do improve as the series goes on. *My apologies to Once Upon a Time. I know the children at Miss Sally's Preschool worked very hard on the special effects for those episodes. I also know that skimping on the special effects budget is what allows the producers of that show to hire better actors and writers. But seriously, those curse clouds? What's wrong with making a curse invisible?

I thought it was effectively realized with a low budget and vividly illustrated the curse as an unstoppable force. Eep. [/fluttershy voice] Classic Who definitely has cheesy special effects, but the Fourth Doctor's era in particular countered this with clever storylines and witty dialogue.
