Deception He/Him Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Who would win in a fight, assuming that Vin has access to unlimited metals (Including Atium but no Lerasium or Duraluminum) and the fight takes place in an area with renewing Stormlight such as the Spiritual Realm, near a perpendicularity, or in a Highstorm?
PanLin they/he Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) My actual nit-picky answer is that, like any 'who would win' scenario, the only correct answer is 'whoever the author wants to win for the better story', but I did a bit of research anyway. Very similar question has been answered on the Coppermind: Quote Questioner At this point, who do you think would win, Vin or Szeth? Brandon Sanderson That’s a tough one. I’d, at the height of their power? Vin probably. Figment chat (Jan. 19, 2015) But then also: Quote Maria Goulet Radiant vs. Mistborn: who wins? Brandon Sanderson Depends on the situation and the Radiant order. #SandersonChat Twitter Q&A with Audible.com (Feb. 4, 2016) Metalborn are mad powerful, but living Shardplate makes them immune/resistant to all kinds of pushing/pulling, emotional manipulation, etc. Removing duralamin (a base metal) while keeping atium (a god alloy, assuming you mean malatium) seems a weird restriction, but I think malatium on its own is probably enough for Vin to take it unless Kal and Syl have some shenanigans prepared. Deception He/Him Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 I said no duraluminum because in this situation Vin has unlimeted metals and combining that with duraluminum would not exactly go well for Kaladin 1

Nitpicking Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Depends on when. Before Vin takes up Preservation, I presume, but is it before Kaladin becomes a Herald and almost simultaneously a Fifth Ideal Radiant? Herald Kaladin is nearly unbeatable. (Nearly.) Note that he has advantages over even most of the Heralds, because a Radiant uses Stormlight more efficiently than a Herald. He can tap huge amounts of Investiture then use them really well.
Frustration Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Kaladin at 3rd ideal was able to beat Vin in a fight Spoiler Questioner Who’d win, Vin or Kaladin? Brandon Sanderson On a battlefield Kaladin, off a battlefield probably Vin. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/4/#e4854 Give him plate and infinate stormlight on top of that and there isn't a lot Vin can do. His healing alone would basically invalidate anything she tried, while she would still die in a single attack. Not to mention that even if Atium prevented Kaladin from touching her the whole fight(which I doubt), Kaladin could simply outlast her as unlike Stormlight pewter draging can be dangerous over extended periods of time, and still causes exhaustion. If Kaladin gets his Herald abilities on top of that then Vin losses even if she can draw on the mists.
Schizoposting Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Given that Kaladin can move at supersonic speeds, he's probably the favorite to win any fight.
