My dreams are all so weird, I could go on for hours about any of them, but here is one of the strangest. I think it was inspired by a combination of Sonic The Hedgehog, The Last Firehawk, and Covid-19. Some important context: the metal virus is a virus in Sonic The Hedgehog created by Eggman. It slowly turns you into a robot if you come into contact with it, and there is not cure. This happened when I was like 8-12 idk. I was in my house (which, at the time, was a decently sized home on a 20 acre field just outside of the suburbs). Then, my dad tells me to look out the window towards the city, which is of course way closer than it should be and in the wrong direction because dreams are weird. There is a massive storm cloud hanging over the city and advancing towards our house. My dad says something creepy like "the virus has arrived". I am in denial, and refuse to believe it could ever reach our home. From this point on in the dream, my mom, dad, and little brother act totally depressed, since there is a deadly virus approaching our home and for some strange reason we aren't leaving. The virus gets closer. Then, I go into the city with a sheet wrapped around me, and use the sheet to bat away infected robot people. The combat is fun. I repeat this adventure a few times, with some excuse about "scouting the city". Then, the creepy part starts. I realize I am dreaming, and my full intelligence wakes up. I try to open my eyes... and I can't. My intelligence starts fading back into dream-like idiocy again. I try again to wake up. No result. I am still in the dream. Everything feels vivid and real, and I have full access to my brain, but I can't end the dream. Eventually, my wakefulness fades and my once-again dulled brain accepts that since I can't wake up, it must be real. The infected robot people reach the house. My denial finally disappears, and a terrible acceptance that this is the end settles in. Then the dream ends. The strange thing about this dream was that it was so realistic that even during the few moments of lucid dreaming that I achieved during it, I couldn't tell it apart from reality, or at least not in time.
