Girls night is where you basically take all your girl friends out and just hang out.Â

I don't mind it tbh. Kinda like it, or at least don't mind. It's part of who I am, I guess. Whoever that is. Do you take medication for it? Maybe you were taught a different mindset from me? Idk.

Idk. yeah I take the legal maximum for a methylphenidate-based medication for ADHD. I just don't like it, because it turns out I basically might as well not exist when I'm not on my medication, I don't struggle with ADHD anymore (I just struggle with the medication side effects) and I don't really know whether I am actually myself when under the effects of medication- or rather, am I really my truer self? In addition it's been essentially just an extra bar to overcome. No one rewards you for having ADHD, and it just brings people to place you lower than them in society. I've had friendships lost when I told them I have ADHD (so I stopped telling people) and I've worked my entire life to counteract what one simple diagnosis has done through my own reputation and actions.

Huh. Guess I never considered that, sorry. I mean...I also don't rlly tell ppl I have ADHD but I never thought of it. And...yeah.

And...yeah. you know that me having Adhd probably contributes to my parents not believing me when I say I'm trans. Able people get away with it all the time ok because I don't know they must have a better sense of it than ADHD people do. And maybe they're right. Maybe able people do know better than ADHD people. rant aside

I mean, I think it does, but I basically view that as part of me, rather than a problem or...like something separate. Also...I guess I see ADHD in a more positive light. I've also lived with it probably as long as you have, give or take, so idk I've gotten used to it. 1

I come from a family of neurotypical* people and like I had to deal with ableist insults growing up from a lot of my family so I kinda just figured it was a problem I had that I shouldn't and that no one else should have. Spoiler They also said that I was apparently really smart but idc because I'd rather have social skills and friends at the end of the day *except for the depressed sibling 2

Ugh, that sucks. One thing I would try is to try and remember when I felt euphoric. To try and remember the optimism and happiness I felt. And like otherwise trying to redirect my emotions. It's tricky though, and I'll admit, I just kinda suffered through it a lot. Also, something that's slightly inconvenient is that it's been so long since I went through a lot of this stuff that I don't remember it as well anymore. 2

That's what happens... So, think of that. You see ADHD as an issue now, like you saw trans/GNC, soooo, naturally....you should stop seeing ADHD as an issue! If you grow up constantly hearing that something is bad, a problem, an issue, ur probably gonna believe it. What about, like, flat earth, idk. If ur parents and ppl around u said it was flat growing up, ur probably gonna believe it. maybe u'd see us as the...people who are incorrect.  And, really, you should stop seeing ADHD as such (something wrong with you), because that just (probably) makes you...hate yourself? Or at least feel bad in some way. Ppl who see ADHD as bad are wrong. Edited January 25 by Theory

What kind of questions do they ask?

What kind of questions do they ask? I got mine through an informed consent clinic, so I didn't need an assessment. Basically, I took a blood test to see what my dosage should be and make sure it would be fine, me and my mom signed this form that basically was us agreeing that we were aware of all of the effects and side effects, and then we were able to get a prescription. I don't know where you live, but I think most provinces of Canada have that as an option. 1

The path that I'm well, probably going to take involves like a 5 part intake process And one of the questions is like what do I want from HRT and like what do I even say lol 1
