The innkeeper looked back, rolled his eyes, and gave each of them their room key.

They were lead up to the top floor, and each of them entered their rooms.

When did you gain posession of a Certificate? Possibility asked, Scared.

You certified, always believing you are the only gods in this world, adorable.

You should have realized this would happen when I had the ability to rewrite reality, locked away.

Sure you did. Keep telling yourself that, and forget the part where it took barely a touch from you for me to gain that power.

Sadly, it's time for you to die.

Coder lunged forward, his sword aiming to kill.

Possibility barely managed to dodge, but he got cut.

"We-WE CAN TALK ABOUT THIS" Possibility said, collecting his power.

This is my domain now.

Darkness.

Possibility slowly felt his mind seeping away into darkness.

You are a mortal without your certificate...

But you can still be useful.

Then possibility slowly fell into the darkness, and something rested in his place.

A certificate.

Coder smiled.

Then, he breathed out. "Maintaining that is hard..." Coder muttered. "Glad he believed I was a god..."

Coder bent down and picked up the Certificate. "Interesting..." Coder said.

He held The Certificate up into the air and squinted.

Possibility was written on it in big bright letters.

He brushed away the word, and felt a surge of power.

He carefully wrote another word, King.

He felt like his very being and essence became more in tune with the world.

And the certificate began to call to him.

Don't you want to be a God? It called to him.

No. Coder thought affirmitavely.

Even if... The certificate began to change

King of Darkness

Coder felt his essence shifting, and quickly erased the last part.

NO! Coder felt off-balance. He needed to get this thing away from him.

And with that, Coder woke up. It had only been an hour, and yet it felt so much longer.

He looked down in his hand, where he saw the certificate, still calling to him. But its pull was easier to resist.

He closed it before he could read the text on it.

I want to talk to Zir.

The voice is different from before. When Coder first heard it, it was something otherworldly, something seemingly impossible to know. But now? It's just words.

"Our bond allows you to comprehend us better than you once could, you may notice. I do not think you could have won your little fight without it. But our affinity for the void consumed the Possibilities."

"You have bypassed our agreement, Lying one. I did not expect this outcome. However, it is of no concern. I like you more than your pawn of a counterpart. We accept what you have done."

"However, we think it is time I offer you a deal. Continue to be my sword... Or perhaps you would rather be called my pen? I have heard of an expression that postulates that you would be stronger this way."

"Regardless, we'd like you to continue. End more of them. There is no need to tell your companions you were successful. You can end another one. And again. And again."

Emma places her estrogen needle in her arm, and lies down. Then she instinctively put her free arm where Beth should have been.

A spike of anger.

Emma was only talking to herself, so she was surprised to get a response. [Sorry Coder for also choosing purple as the text color]

"We told you. You would have taken her identity away. We couldn't have let that happen"

Emma, after being confident Identity isn't listening, begins crying. She knows she'll have to stop soon, but she needs to let it all out.

Isabel started a fire in the hearth and sat down in it wrapping her arms around her legs.

She whispers “be careful Dyan, there are people hunting certified and… and I don’t know what I would do if they… if they got you” 

the hearth seems to burn brighter and warmer for a moment before dying back down 

“you too child, this world is not fit for you, or your companions I wish she would let me elevate you… but no it can’t be done” 

Isabel cried and the fire burned brighter and warmer and the fire dried her tears and wrapped her in a warm blanket of flame and she fell asleep with the fire holding her the way a mother holds her child.
