Tharan quickly lets go of the wall and backs up. The orange mist briefly supports the wall as he backs up, and then disappears.

Riaale snaps to attention and raises her hands. All of the comatose people jerkily stood up and started shuffling quickly away from the building, just as it collapses. Debris is everywhere, and embers are raining from the sky. Riaale unpuppets, then doubles over in pain.

Charlie nods. With Isabel near by, their power was working better than usual, allowing for about double the usual speed boost. They took a breath and popped into speed time.

Everyone looked so slow. Not the usual, dragging through water slow, but now like honey, or even molasses. 

They run around out of the Blank Page's line of sight and zip in, grabbing the notebook and running away about 12 feet.

Isabel looks like the only thing holding her up is her staff which seems to have been firmly planted in the ground. She has her eyes open but isn’t exactly seeing. She is praying.

The Blank Page falls to the ground. For the first time since he took over Coder, you see real human emotion in his eyes. "NO! DON'T DO THIS! My... My notebook... Without it..." He cuts off, and falls over. You see the light leave his eyes. Darn it. Ya'll we're supposed to kill me. Oh well, this works too. The light fades from his eyes, and The Blank Page falls over.

Then, light enters his eyes again. The kind of light you realize you haven't seen in Coder's eyes since he entered the cave. "I'm... back." He says softly, then turns to Charlie. He sees his notebook, and Charlie, for just a moment, sees primal rage in his eyes. "Can I have my notebook back?" He says, sounding like he is suppressing deep anger and deep sadness at the same time.

Emma lets go of his arm. Then, breathing heavily, she looks down at herself. As she expected, her feminine appearance has near-disappeared from the amount of estrogen she had to use.

She'd like to inject herself with more of it, but understands there's more important things to deal with.
