NeverTrustAesSedai He/Him Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 (edited) Hello! I've been reading Sanderson for multiple years now, but almost entirely the Cosmere. The only published Cosmere works I can think of off-hand that I've not read are Isles of the Emberdark and White Sands, but I also haven't read anything unpublished. My Realmatic theory is a bit shaky, though, and I almost certainly need a reread of some of the books. I've also read Frugal Wizard and the first 7-ish books of the Wheel of Time. I became aware of the 17th Shard about a year ago, and have been browsing the forums ever since. There's a lot of stuff here, but I have picked up a thing or two (Dark Alley, don't even think about offering me that cookie). Is there anything important I should know? (Or rather, welcome to non-lurkdom!) No idea what you mean about the cookies, there's 100% no spikes in them. ...... care for a cookie? If you could get lunch with one character in the Cosmere, who would it be? And if you could smack any one character in the Cosmere with no consequences, who would it be?

NeverTrustAesSedai He/Him Posted October 24, 2025 Author Posted October 24, 2025 Oh, a brownie, thank you! *eats* *pause* *horrific screams* If I could get lunch with any Cosmere character, I think it might be Wayne because he's just a fun guy. If I could smack anyone with no consequences? My first thought was Amaram, but then my mind went straight to He Who M***h Not Be Named and stayed there (even though the way I imagine Wax's uncle, he does have a very smackable face). Favorite weapon or offensive magic system? On the one hand, Surgebinding is just so cool, but Allomancy is too. I think maybe Shardplate and Blade might take the win here, though. My answer changes on a day-to-day basis. Hoid is incredible. Hoid is my role model. Everything I do is an attempt to emulate Hoid. I'd like to think I'd take up Reason, but I don't know. If I was in a really bad and/or super dramatic mood I could see myself taking Odium or Ruin. CoderDrag0n8, I know the secrets hidden in the white text. I've been around. Whimsy's color? Maybe a really eye-tearing yellow. Are there croissants on offer? If so I'll take them. 1

-ACE- he/him Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 Hello and welcome to the shard! whats your favorite book not by Brandon? Do you want another cookie??

-ACE- he/him Posted October 25, 2025 Posted October 25, 2025 Oh, also, when @CoderDrag0n8 asks if u like reading anime or webcomics, say no. unless you want to be drawn into his cult. Then say yes.
NeverTrustAesSedai He/Him Posted October 25, 2025 Author Posted October 25, 2025 Favorite non-Brandon book? That's a hard one. I love Lord of the Rings, but it's been a long time since I read it through, so I definitely need a reread on that. I also enjoy some science fiction, specifically Isaac Asimov and The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlen. Three Musketeers is another old favorite, and so are some of Hawthorne's stories. Depending on my mood, it could be any of those at any given time, or something else completely. No, I'm aware of no such 'coder box'. Should my ignorance worry me? Although I'm not above the odd cult, I'm not into anime, and I've only had peripheral experience with one webcomic (XKCD). So, no cults for now. 1
