Uhh as far as I know Coder just thought it was a good idea. It was in Mental Health Club, and he just sent a spoiler box full of a ton of 🫂 emojis

Spoiler

🫂 🫂 🫂 🫂... etc

He did it a few times and the mods made him stop because it lagged the page so much that it was almost inaccessible on mobile, but it kinda stuck and I just started calling it "pulling a Coder" for any spoiler box full of repetitive emojis or words

There's also an alternate form which just has a bunch of blank lines

I know things like the stick, no mating, and anything related to Hoid, but anything else?

Spiked cookies, probably.

You should probably also mention LDS missions- since LDS makes up such a large part of the forum, members vanishing for 2 years does have a pretty big impact on the culture. @Frustration, for example.

Would you mind explaining those?

Like I mentioned, I'm new to the Shard and am not well versed in the jokes/culture

The spiked cookies I think started with @ChipsAHoid (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) and were a play on the usual spiking food and drink and stuff, but in this case it was literal Hemalurgic spikes through a cookie

I think I saw mentions before Chips joined, though...

Can't remember where

Spiked cookies started in a huge roleplay series called the Alleyverse
It died a while ago but @ChipsAHoid kept the Hemalurgically spiked thing alive

They would know more of the origin than I (I don't frequent the RP section of the Shard) - the part they failed to mention is that the in-joke seems to be mostly kept alive in the Intro Threads section (3126 instances of "cookie" in those threads, and 147 instances where a post mentions both a Cookie and a Spike) - presumably as a way to help identify potential new players for the RP section.

For example (note: clicking on the curved arrow at the top-right of a quote box will take you to the thread and post from which the quote originates. That's the benefit of using the quote feature over simply copying text, clicking the quote-box in the editor and pasting into a non-attributed box. Please see the Sharder FAQ for more info):
