Can you explain to me why, after I’ve championed Hoid as my strongest village read, e!Hoid moves to execute me on D3? Because it totally fits with a paranoid villager. That, along with the PM we had, is the starting point for my analysis.

He knew that TwinStor would flip village, so maybe he wanted to get village cred for leaving a village train at the last minute? Or possibly he wanted to target another Novice? We had lost only Novices up to that point. Not sure if that is a coincidence or not with today's thread name.

On the topic of thread name, I did mistakenly misremember thOmAs' rank and plan to change the title once I finish the write up, which I will have time for tonight. Neither titles or write ups will give clues or hints, however.

You can say that for anything villagery. My point was it's not sound logic to use.

The elims would know that if they got off a mis-exe on D3 then they'd only need one more. At that point, trust is the most valuable commodity, and I trusted (and still trust) Hoid. It's a losing play for the e!Hoid to make that switch, especially because if his move caused me to flip village instead, he'd essentially guarantee being on the chopping block D4.

I think the actual vote stands at:

Jo (3): Me, CD, Araris

Me(Hoid) (1): Jo

As for Coder’s health, not sure on specifics, but I’m pretty sure the only person who wants him dead is Jo

I don't have long and I'm genuinely kind annoyed about that and this isn't ironic but I'm not allowed to say how I would really wanna express myself so

Feel like this Hoid Slayer wound is lowkey personal against me 'cause like I've wanted them dead but now it's a group proposal about it and isn't that just the best way to kill a villager and then we're back into double-bluff territory

I'm also at the point where I don't like Jo calling me Columbo and expecting me to solve stuff when like I don't straight up do anything man I don't know where that came from I just thought it was gassing me up for no reason but now I'm expected to randomly call someone out when my callout was ignored for like 2 cycles? Like if I'm wrong it's nothing new really but now it has impact which is new for me why does anyone do this stuff?

Yeah no-one talked to me about game-related stuff in PMs which is kinda usual but also like theres no way they all didn't care about PMs so someone from TUH/jo/Araris is an elim and oh doesn't feel like it's the whole game being set out. Be nice if anyone else PM'd me but I don't have any kinda thing going on anymore do I so don't know what I was expecting really. Don't worry gamers I'm mainly annoyed at myself it's not like I do thread posts that make people think I'm worth giving a good yonder to.

I am annoyed at how like today was Friday and I was busy doing stuff with my fellas but like also mathematically do we just lose today if HoidS!asVillager and another villager die 'cause I guess I wanna see like 3 different people's maths about that and if we need to save HoidS even if they're evil which like it's a random kill going through? Surely a vig did the maths about making it happen or it's an elim scheme

I just apparently don't have the brainpower for this anymore lol if it was a day cycle I'd be wanting to vote Jo now 'cause I do nothing and they hyped me up like others should be acting

Roberto didn't even get to do anything this post I can't even RP what's going on like you'd think I'd commit to either game-focus or RP but you love to strike the middle

I was gonna add more but low-key / high-key I gotta head back off again

Sorry gamers maybe I'll see ya next cycle if its happening

Ciao

this reads to me as extreamly genuine so proberbly going to lean towards a V!Stink for now and it also mad me pause for a second about Hoidslayer. at this current point in time i dont think him or joe can be anything apart from elims... however i am leaning more towards one or the other... i dont think both could be elims... that just doesnt feel right to me at the moment...

Ughhhh, I hate this.

K+V!Hoid: If the elims successfully get off a kill tonight, and Hoid is a Villager (Unlikely) we lose.

K+ ?!Hoid: If the elims kill, and we save Hoid just in case, we go into tomorrow 3-4, without knowing Hoid's alignment.

F+V!Hoid: If the Elims fail their kill, and we don't save Hoid, but he's village, we go into tommorow 3-4 with a fresh start.

F+?!Hoid: If the elims fail their kill and we do save hoid just in case, we go into tomorrow 3-5 and probably just execute Hoid.

KV sucks, but honestly we'd deserve the loss at that point. K? sucks because we've effectively wasted a pseduo Execution. FV is honestly preferred to K? because we'll have 48 hours to actually find and discuss someone. F? is better than K? for obvious reasons, but we can't count on it.

I vote to let Hoid die

  1. @Araris Valerian — Armiel — Novice
  2. @Belandrius Ohhmar — thOmmAs — Apprentice
  3. @The Unknown Hammerer — Illi — Master
  4. @CoderDrag0n8 — Sozar — Apprentice
  5. @RoyalBeeMage — William Thorne — Apprentice
  6. @STINK — Roberto — Apprentice

Please Vote to let Hoid die. If you want him to live, please provide a dang good explanation for who the 3 Elims are if Hoid isn't one of them.

  1. @Hoid Slayer — Shifter — Novice

Hoid. If you are a villager, and you want to win, please spend your energy trying to figure out who should be targeted with a Verdant/Roseite pot instead of defending yourself. Unless you think you can defend yourself really easily, it's not worth the effort. If you are a villager, you can do the most good by helping prevent the Elims killing one of us. If you're a villager, the 3 elims aren't going to vote to save you, and I'm not going to vote to save you, so you'll have to convince the three other villagers besides you and me.

If you are an Elim, can I recommend Open-Wolfing? It's really fun.

i hate to say it but i kind of agree with joe here... we should have let hoid die... it would have been cleaner for us all... oh well.

It would be my honor to serve as elim alongside you ✋😔

@Amanuensis the writeups are incredible btw

Okay, let's see what I got *crunches knuckles*

Day two rollover summary, paraphrased partially from Jo:

With seven hours left in the day, the VC stands as:

  • (2) TwinStorm: IcedOutPenguin, Belandrius Ohhmar,
  • (1) STINK: CoderDrag0n8
  • (1) ThatOneWorldhopper: Araris Valerian
  • (1) CoderDrag0n8: A Jo in the Bush
  • (1) IcedOutPenguin: TwinStorm
  • (1) Hoid Slayer: STINK

I vote TOW without good reasoning, just to test waters

Jo moves vote off CD for some reason and switches it to me - Jo, still not sure why you seem to have a vendetta against me, would be nice to know

Araris also switches vote to me, with the argument that I'm not acting on my analysis

VC:

  • (3) Hoid Slayer: STINKA Jo in the BushAraris Valerian,
  • (2) TwinStorm: IcedOutPenguin, Belandrius Ohhmar,
  • (1) ThatOneWorldhopper: Hoid Slayer,
  • (1) STINK: CoderDrag0n8
  • (1) IcedOutPenguin: TwinStorm

I make an analysis post that convinces Araris to move vote back to TOW with me

Bee votes TwinStorm

CD votes TOW

TwinStorm votes TOW for the sake of self-preservation

VC:

  • (4) ThatOneWorldhopper: Hoid Slayer, Araris ValerianCoderDrag0n8TwinStorm
  • (3) TwinStorm: IcedOutPenguin, Belandrius Ohhmar, RoyalBeeMage
  • (2) Hoid Slayer: STINKA Jo in the Bush

TUH votes TwinStorm

Bee takes vote off TwinStorm and shifts it to TOW

TUH takes vote off TwinStorm and moves it to me

Final VC:

  • (5) ThatOneWorldhopper: Hoid SlayerAraris ValerianCoderDrag0n8TwinStormRoyalBeeMage,
  • (3) Hoid Slayer: STINKA Jo in the BushThe Unknown Hammerer
  • (2) TwinStorm: IcedOutPenguin, Belandrius Ohhmar,

Retrospective analysis of D2:

First off, wherever they were hiding, the elims were sitting real nice, with three village trains.

Second, I am beginning to see a potential tie between Araris and CD (they both switch votes to TOW in a short time period)

What really stands out to me though is all the chaos with no real threat to the elims. A lot of people - namely Araris, Bee, CD, and TUH - were scrambling around somewhat when elims would have no real reason to do so. This subtly implies to me that the elims were hiding under the radar D2

This implicates Jo, BelOh, and Stink

It's possible that that's the elim team right there; that seems a little too simple, though. The weird bit is that that would then imply that the elims were taking actions they didn't need to D2, which is somewhat weird elim behavior - unless they were trying to push for a specific exe.

In that case, the most likely option I see is TOW - the elims might have rightly noticed that by exeing TOW D2, they set up TwinStorm for D3 (and if this was the elim's plan, it worked beautifully)

Such a possibility would most implicate CD, Bee, and TUH - I wouldn't include Araris in there because when he shifted to TOW there were better options (namely keeping the vote on me) for an elim

Day three summary:

Jo votes Twin, says happy to vote Twin or me

Twin votes Araris

Araris votes CD

I vote Twin

BelOh votes Twin

Not much happens until nine hours before rollover, when CD votes Araris

Current VC:

TwinStorm (3): Hoid, Jo, BelOh

Araris (2): Twin, CD

CD (1): Araris

Hoid (1): Stink

Minutes before rollover, TUH votes TwinStorm

I vote Araris

Final VC:

Analysis of D3:

Well, this was much more uneventful - perhaps we should have taken the hint earlier that TwinStorm was the wrong idea

I think the flow of this cycle is pretty obvious; elims set out with intention to exe TwinStorm, and succeed

Alone, this day really doesn't tell us much. However, we can combine it with D2's - and we've been quite lucky that most players have been quite active

Based off of vibes, the most sus players in my eye are CD, BelOh, Araris, and a tentative Stink, who has done practically nothing all game but occasionally pop in to vote me

If we pardon BelOh for being new, then we can see a clear potential tie between CD and Araris. The problem here is that D3, they both voted for each other - however, CD was never in any real danger, and there was no way for them to predict my last-minute switch other than some messages I sent Araris pre rollover. It would've been a risky maneuver on their part, but not impossible to imagine

In a world where CD and Araris are elim together:

I'm looking at TUH as their third. His vote for Twin yesterday was what kept Araris alive, and D2, his switch from Twin to me would cement the TOW exe while avoiding keeping all elims on the same train

AAAAAND I just realized how unlikely this is since the three people I just accused are the three people voting to save my life 🤦‍♂️

In a world where Araris is elim, but not with CD:

Looking at Bee and TUH as at least one of them a teammate, based on my analysis for D2

Final elim could be anywhere

In a world where CD is elim, but not with Araris:

Looking at Bee and TUH as at least one of them a teammate

Probably both teammates on Twin train yesterday, implying Jo and BelOh as well

In a world where Jo, BelOh, and Stink are elim:

We're all screwed 😋

Honestly, I just spent a load of time on an analysis only to realize that I can envision basically anyone in a team with anyone

But that's all unimportant, because, while doing my research, I stumbled upon this absolutely heartless comment from Jo

image.png.a61203a7d00f6c72cd0b203bdfbe7d60.png

Thus, we can conclude that Jo is evil 😋 /s

Also can someone please explain to me what everyone means when they say ninja? It's confusing me a little

Wait

Just thought of something

I doubt there's more than one elim on the train voting to save me; sooooo there go all my theories of Araris, CD, and TUH being evil together

Sorry, guys

I just wasted an hour of my time

i dont know why (i could just be reading way to much into this) but this just doesnt sit right with me at all...  the entire end part of it just reads to me as an elim desperately trying to throw anyone under the bus to save their own skin. if joe and hoid are both elims (which i dont think i the case) then it does look as if there is major disagreements between the elims and they're both trying to hang the outher out to dry.

i still have no idea who the 3rd elim is which is not great considering we're running out of time... i'm fairly sure we're in the endgame at this point... now might be the time to cash in all of your roseite pots

Maybe a cleaner win for the elims, and a "clean" death for the village, but I don't really give much weight to either of those.

What is your evidence that Hoid is elim?

Can you provide an explanation for why e!Hoid would have switched off of TwinStorm and onto me, the player advocating for his village alignment the most, at the end of D3?

Really the only argument I'm getting for Hoid being elim is that he was up for the exe D2. Which is pretty sad given all that's happened in the meantime. Given the low amount of evidence pointing toward e!Hoid, why should we have given up 48 hours of discussion time to risk losing if he's village? Also, why hasn't the "villager" that wounded Hoid claimed?

If someone gives me a convincing argument, I could probably be persuaded to vote for Hoid. Yeah, I'd need a fair bit to be persuaded. But nobody really seems to be engaging with the points I'm bringing up.

Edit: And if anyone thinks I'm a villager, you need to convince me to vote with you, or the village vote will be split and the elims win.

Day 2 makes sense in that world. Any of them can basically vote however they want without worry, because none of the 5 of them receive more than a vote at a time. We're in a V/V/V world, which sucks from an analytical perspective.

Day 3 also makes sinse in that world. Again, any of them can vote, however they want. Twin Storm effectively gets executed by villagers only. The only think of note that I could analyse here is that Coder and Araris probably aren't Eliminators together.

Day 4 is the first time the Elims have to actually lead an execution, on me. In the V/V world of me and Hoid, I basically have to believe the game is over. There's no one but villagers up for exectuion, and 5/7 players have voted.

Take a walk down my world now.

The Eliminators are Hoid Slayer, Royal Bee Mage, and Coder Dragon

Can you provide an explanation for why e!Hoid would have switched off of TwinStorm and onto me, the player advocating for his village alignment the most, at the end of D3?

Really the only argument I'm getting for Hoid being elim is that he was up for the exe D2. Which is pretty sad given all that's happened in the meantime. Given the low amount of evidence pointing toward e!Hoid, why should we have given up 48 hours of discussion time to risk losing if he's village? Also, why hasn't the "villager" that wounded Hoid claimed?

Hoid voted for you because you had voted for him and then switched off of him (Day2, Votes 15/16), and he knew that he was in a V/V world. If you got executed, he would have TwinStorm, a master, in his pocket for saving him. If Twin got executed, he would keep you in his pocket to protect him.

This is the last time I'm doing analysis this game. I've spent too much time on this game at this point. If anyone switches their vote off of me onto Coder, Royal, or Hoid, I'll vote with them. Otherwise, unless someone asks me a direct question, I'm not going to post again.

Alright, whatever. barking up this tree is doing nothing. You all think Hoid Slayer is a villager. At this point I am tunneling on him, but I'll pretend he's a villager. From my point of view, that means the Eliminators must be 3 of Coder, Stink, Araris, Hammerer, or Royal.

GG Elims.

In the following silence, Shifter looked at him. Looked at the resignation in Emmett's face. And smiled. It was not a happy grin, but one of acceptance.

After everything, this was how it ended.

Minutes passed, and nothing happened. Then Shifter reached down to his waist, and drew his blade. As it left its sheath for the first time in weeks, it released a smooth grating sound, quivering in anticipation. As Shifter held it up, it refracted the light, the ebon blade seeming to absorb it. It was beautiful. Void, the blade was named. It had belonged to the Red Wizard, before Shifter had killed him. Tonight, it would taste blood once again.

"Emmett." Shifter rose his gaze from the blade, and met the other man's eyes. Then, carefully, he raised the blade to point at him.

"Let's dance."

In the following silence, the two men would meet.

Minutes would pass, and everything would shatter.

Emmett sighed. This charade from Shifter was ridiculous. They looked around the deck. There weren't many students left. None of them believed that they was innocent. They all accepted Shifter's words, despite the man's lies. The only one pretending to back them at this point was William. Emmett didn't understand what his plan was.

It hardly mattered. Emmett drew from their back a long hollow rod, flute like, carefully coated in Celeste Spores. They held it upright, and pulled a small cord from it's base, and then swung the rod in an arc. Inside the metal, water that had been contained behind the cord sprayed up the length of the rod, mixing with Spore and shooting outward in a series of jagged icicles. Emmett gripped the hilt of their Frostrime Blade with two hands, and stared at Shifter.

"You are a liar, and a traitor. I know you slew thOmmAs. Why do you accuse me of your own crimes?"

Shifter's smile spread a little bit wider.

"We both know whose hands committed the murders. And they weren't mine."

Shifter observed Emmett's blade. A design so intricate it could not be found in the more civilized seas. But neither Shifter nor Emmett were prone to civility. Shifter took one last look at the novice, and lunged. Straight for Emmett's chest.

STINK and RBM are likely your teammates, though I’ll consider a world where #3 is TUH instead of RBM. In the e!Hoid world you proposed, I find it odd that all 3 elims voted on TOW during D2, when Hoid only had 2 votes. That seems at least as weird as you and STINK both voting on Hoid during the same day.

I’m not convinced that TwinStorm would have been pocketed by that result.

Maybe I’m just too prone to bussing as an elim, but IMO a competent elim team should occasionally vote for itself to distance. And the healing doesn’t really say much. I wanted to heal Hoid regardless of his alignment. I’ll grant that if Hoid is elim, these are probably his teammates. That still leaves me wondering who chucked a pot at him, and why they never claimed. And why a second pot got chucked at CD of all people. From my perspective, any pot attack against a villager today needs all villagers to support the healing. Prior to today, I was advocating to exe CD, so the attack on him looks like it aimed to use my lack of support to end the game in favor of the elims.

I can see the Doc kill coming from a Hoid team. But I’m not so sure about the Penguin kill, or the Belandrius one.

Edit: Really what this is coming down to is that I have a very strong village read on Hoid. His engagement with me despite my initial antagonism, his unwillingness to let a train sit unopposed, and an apparent lack of strategy are all pointing at him as a villager. I’ll do some rereading (focused on Hoid’s potential teammates), but that’s where I’m at now.

Edit 2: Now might be a good time to claim our actions. I know Joe advocated for that early on in the game, but at ExLo it can’t really hurt us. The only notable night action I took was attempting and failing to sprout a novice sunlight pot on Belandrius during N2. I forgot my N3 action. I have lots of sunlight things, so I’m either going to see what happens when you incur the failure, or reveal someone’s alignment on D5. The former being 15 times more likely :(.

STINK and RBM are likely your teammates,

Yeah that's fair, especially with RBM voting on Hoid with me right now. Tell you what, we both think Royal Bee Mage is an Eliminator. I'll vote him if you do.

I suspect that Twin Storm or STINK hit Hoid with the Crimson Pot. Twin died, and STINK doesn't seem likely to reveal himself.

OH! WAIT! It's a WGG! Hoid was hit by Twin Storm, got healed, and they realized how useful that was, so CD crafted a Novice Pot, wounding himself to buy village Cred! That's why no one has claimed.

Just gonna pop in to point out novice crimson pots don’t exist

They had to be used by apprentices or masters

Actually,

Quote
  • Apprentice: If your target leaves their cabin, inflict a Wound.
  • Master: If your target leaves their cabin, inflict a Fatal WoundFatally Wounded require 3/4 of active players to vote for them to be healed or they will die at the end of the Day.
  • Expert: If your target leaves their cabin, kill them!

It has been confirmed by @Amanuensis that you cant target yourself (on account of Verdant confusion and the wording of Rosite)

Honestly, this is tempting, and I even thought of offering it to you when writing my previous post. I guess I’m curious what other folks think. And honestly, I’d like to hear more comprehensive thoughts from @CoderDrag0n8, @RoyalBeeMage, @The Unknown Hammerer, and @STINK. If I’m wrong about Hoid, it’s going to be one of you that convinces me, not Joe. And if I’m wrong, you need to convince me, or we lose. Unless you think I’m evil of course, but I don’t think anyone actually has an elim read on me right now.

Do we know TwinStorm hit Hoid, or is that your guess? Because I’m not giving any credit to CD for getting wounded. Honestly, I’d be interested in a scenario where e!Hoid got wounded by a teammate, but I don’t see a WGG on CD as likely.

To the folks talking about Crimson Pots, you can intentionally wound yourself by crafting the lowest level, given my reading of the rules. You don’t make a pot or target anyone, you just hurt yourself.

ohhh wait yeah

My reads are currently RBM (lowest) and Joe (Highest)

If I had to throw in a 3rd elim read, it would be stink.

Thank you Araris, for reading the rules.

I am guessing that TwinStorm hit Hoid. Or maybe STINK did. as I said, those are the only two villagers that I wouldn't expect to reveal that by now. (Because Twin died before he could.) Not sure about STINK

I'm not budging off Jo

I know I'm villa, so he has to be elim

Not confirming or denying anything, but Exe/MCK come at the end of OoA, so someone being executed could pop off a last minute pot

Double post but...

CoderDrag0n8 isn't actually Wounded... my bad everyone 😛

Just over 7 hours remain in the day to vote
