Blaze1616 he/him
I've got a theory brewing in my head right now, and am trying to find info about various things, but my problem is I'm not so great at searching for Cosmere info, specifically sifting through the many WoBs. So I've got some questions to which I cannot find the answers for on Coppermind. As a side note, if anyone has any tips or tools for locating WoBs that would be much appreciated. First Question: Has anyone survived having their spiritweb hijacked through Hemalurgy? More specifically, has their survival been documented to the extent that we can draw conclusions about the side affects of Hemalurgy (physical changes other than the gaping hole, attitude changes, etc.)? Second Question: Has Brandon confirmed that color can return to an object after having it drained for Awakening? Thank you in advance.
Green Hoodie Mistborn he/him
There is the Compiled WoB Thread here as well as one over at the WoT site Theoryland.com (don't be fooled by the "WoT Interview search" there is a ton of Cosmere WoB in there). As to the questions, #1 I don't think so on the first one, but I wouldn't bet on my knowledge of that. #2 Would you consider the Godking's light bending aura which turned the white stones colorful to be objects having color returned to fuel Awakening? Kurkistan he/him
1. Well Spook lived, but there was some Harmonic intervention there and we didn't really see him afterwards. Nothing else I know of, unless you count Vin popping her spike in and out at will. #2 Would you consider the Godking's light bending aura which turned the white stones colorful to be objects having color returned to fuel Awakening? Hint: You shouldn't. -But seriously, I've never gotten why some people seem to think that Susebron's prismatic effect somehow endows the objects with inherent color. - I don't recall any WoB on this, sorry. --- On the general "how do I find thing" question: The Coppermind, sadly, tends to be a bit behind on its details. A result of understaffed and overworked maintenance (I really should contribute a bit more... ) rather than malice or incompetence, but still something that has to be dealt with. My best advice (besides following those links that Green Hoodie was kind enough to post) is twofold: First, I'd suggest that you bookmark it whenever you come across a WoB where you go "huh, I didn't know that" or "I bet that'll come up later..." It can be quite useful down the road, trust me. Second—and this is helpful to everyone, so more's the joy—I'd suggest going the extra mile and both quoting and linking whenever you reference a WoB, and encouraging others to do the same. It's remarkably helpful all around when you can say "hm, <Person> mentioned something about that on this thread, so a quick Google..." and then bam, you've got the WoB. Half the time when I dig up old WoBs it's just a matter of finding an old post of mine. Edited November 4, 2014 by Kurkistan
Moogle
1. No confirmation. However, it is speculated that Alendi's companion, Fedik, was spiked by Ruin for being too interested in the black lake. He didn't die however, and apparently sort of became like a parshman. Notable quotes: The lake that Fedik discovered is below us now—I can see it from the ledge. It looks even more eerie from up here, with its glassy—almost metallic—sheen. I almost wish I had let him take a sample of its waters. Perhaps his interest was what angered the mist creature that follows us. Perhaps…that was why it decided to attack him, stabbing him with its invisible knife. Strangely, the attack comforted me. At least I know that since another has seen it. That means I’m not mad. .... It can affect this world, however. The knife it placed in Fedik’s chest proves that much. I’m still not certain which was more traumatic for him—the wound itself, or seeing the thing that did it to him. ... It’s so cold. I swear that the rocks themselves are made of ice, and the snow is deep enough in places that we have to dig our way through. The wind blows all the time. I fear for Fedik—he hasn’t been quite the same since the creature made of mist attacked him, and I worry that he will wander off a cliffside or slip through one of the many icy rifts in the ground. 2. No confirmation. Speculation: Shardblade wounds can be healed, restoring color to the dead limb, and it does seem that Awakening drains an object's Spiritual aspect in a similar manner to fuel it. I'd expect the color could be restored, but I'm not sure if anything native to Nalthis could do it. Some speculate that the color consumed returns to the world via the Tears of Edgli in a parallel to atium returning to the world through the Pits of Hathshin after being burned. lyht
1) Are you talking about the Donor or the Recipient? I have not been able to verify it 100%, but it seems that hemalurgy may require the death of the donor in every case. On the Recipient side, we do have Marsh as an example. He has been around a very long time, but we have not seen enough of him to really know what impact hemalurgy has had. Most of the impact from hemalurgy that has been documented is not the impact from hemalurgy directly but from the influence it allowed Ruin to have over the recipient. If you can get your hands on the Mistborn Adventure Game, it has the most extensive information I have found on all three of the metallic arts, in the section titled "The Treatise Metallurgic." While I don't know if we have final verification from Brandon if we can treat it as cannon, he oversaw the project and has comments throughout, so I personally run with it as mostly cannon. It states things like "the Hemalurgic arts... gradually warp the body, mind, and soul of anyone who benefits from them." It also describes the possible effects of stealing specific abilities. 2) I agree with Moogle's assessment on color.

Source: (paraphrase) One does not have to kill someone with Hemalurgy to charge a spike, but it rips off a large part of the soul. The person would not be the same. Source: THE_VIKACHU () I remember reading you answer earlier that a person being used to charge a hemalurgic spike does not necessarily have to die. Would that victim be similar to a Drab from Warbreaker? BRANDON SANDERSON Well, making a spike rips off a piece of someone's soul. So...yeah. I'd need to see my exact quote from before, but let's say it's not going to leave a person in good shape. -- If you can get your hands on the Mistborn Adventure Game, it has the most extensive information I have found on all three of the metallic arts, in the section titled "The Treatise Metallurgic." This is not really the right way to see it. Note how Crafty says that Brandon & Co. even looked over the House of Ashes novella, and that thing is rife with inconsistencies. Curiosity he/him
Some speculate that the color consumed returns to the world via the Tears of Edgli in a parallel to atium returning to the world through the Pits of Hathshin after being burned. I would disagree with that speculation because atium is Investiture and color is not, even on Nalthis. My theory: As Color is to Awakening, so Metal is to Allomancy. Metal does not regenerate of Scadrial. They could run out of it (though it's not currently a problem).*

Metals are turned into a different form, but I don't think color is. The Tears of Edgli are more than explained via Endowment's Shardpool for me. The theory does have some strong evidence, however.
