Cosmer Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 Question on this exchange in The Lost Metal (ch. 66)… Wax tells Harmony “odd things have been happening to me all day. Is it an after effect of holding the Bands?” Harmony says “No. It is something else. But it didn’t work as I’d hoped.” What exactly did Harmony hope? He essentially confirmed to Wayne that Wax is a Mistborn now…was he still just hiding this revelation from Wax? Or did he “hope” it would make him even stronger? Confused me on my reread. 1

That's exactly it, he was hoping Wax would be a full mistborn and realize that (but he could nto just tell Wax - his "balance" needed Wax to put it together with the clues adn the special vials of metals). Wax received such a small amount of Lerasium, he became a very low-power Mistborn with very few powers close enough to his abilities and intent to be used subconciously (like ironpulling the canteen of metals while falling). 4
Cosmer Posted April 24, 2025 Author Posted April 24, 2025 @Treamayne got it…so his shards allowed him to give the lerasium vial to Wayne straight out because he knew it would result in the smaller bomb (both Ruin and Preservation)? Giving it directly to Wax with instructions (or labels lol) would be too out of line? And so is, apparently, telling him directly (thus making Wax more likely to make more?) 2

I think it was more that he knew Wayne would not survive to share the information if he answered those questions. But Sazed didn't give Wax Lerasium - he suspected that Wax had dosed himself in the explosion and used differing vials with at least one (or more) metals added to the Iron to test Wax on which other abilities he may have gained (and how strong). And, knowing Wax - having him "experiment" is as good as telling him, once he has time to think and consider and draw conclusions. 1

Belandrius Ohhmar He/Him Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 so now that he is a mistborn if he sees Harmony and "sits down" and talks with him will he reveal anything?

Kitch Posted April 29, 2025 Posted April 29, 2025 I just got done rereading Lost Metal....wanted to read it again after SA5....and Harmonys stance towards lerasium was very strange. The blatant lying to Kelsier for example. What will happen if/when Kelsier learns that Wax became a Mistborn? And the vial of lerasium didn't make a lot of sense either. Harmony suspected that Wax had already gotten some, so why provide him with additional lerasium? Unless it's chalked up to Harmony just knowing that lerasium would be needed on that ship, and didn't know why. 1
