  1. I had thought I remembered reading that Scadrial was different because it started off with no life, while the other shards settled on planets that already had life. So that the process of creating life on that planet requires embedding some of ruin/preservation (but more preservation), as opposed to other planets where the shard becomes "connected" and embedded with the life, like how Odiums tone became part of Roshar.
  2. There's a piece of preservation and ruin in each person on Scadrial, and I believe the mists contain some part of preservation after Sazed brought them back. So that may be a factor for Harmony vs Retribution

    Wax - Harmony

I just got done rereading Lost Metal....wanted to read it again after SA5....and Harmonys stance towards lerasium was very strange. The blatant lying to Kelsier for example. What will happen if/when Kelsier learns that Wax became a Mistborn? And the vial of lerasium didn't make a lot of sense either. Harmony suspected that Wax had already gotten some, so why provide him with additional lerasium? Unless it's chalked up to Harmony just knowing that lerasium would be needed on that ship, and didn't know why.
  4. Maybe the concept of Odium + Honor was already explored at some point, and that was "Unity"...and that was why Rayse never wanted to combine the shards in the first place. Much like how Preservation + Ruin can be Harmony or Discord. Odium + Honor is either Retribution or Unity.
  5. I took the immortality remark to be about becoming a herald. But 5th Ideal I think just lets you use Stormlight better. Shown by Nale being able to overtake Kaladin on Stormlight absorbing
  6. Personally my take on the Honor twist was that Tanavast/Tanner was a weak vessel and person. He was constantly striving to be something greater, obsessed with being a God, and hated to be reminded that he came from common origins. We had this image of The Almighty as this all knowing individual that had a plan for everything and was honorable above all else and was betrayed by Rayse When in actuality, it seems like Tanner was bumbling from 1 situation to another without a grander plan. He wanted to be worshipped, but didn't want to put in the effort....the disappearing for decades at a time. He blamed Rayse for everything, but Tanner interfered first with Rayses planet. He seemed dependent on Kor....it almost seemed like a codependent relationship...and didn't offer much to the relationship, constantly putting her in this grander light. If anything, I see Tanavast as a villain here. He was a mess. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out he was one of the weaker individuals once we get the Shattering story.
  7. Personally I don't think it's a mistwraith. I think it's closer to cognitive being manifesting in the physical realm, like Ishar was experimenting with on Roshar. Basically the herald's already do this, which is why Kelsier is so interested in how they function
  8. I understood it to be a large amount of investiture, with metal born in the area being used to connect it to Scadrial. That's why the metal born were needed, otherwise it's just a bank of power not attached to anything. And it's why they were able to burn it
  9. Just a guess. If I had to guess at what kind of stuff Hoid could do to interfere with Bav, that sounds plausible. Especially how Sazed acted when Wax asked him to intervene
  10. Hoid helped Sazed cut Teslin off from Anatomy. That's why Sazed was not sure whether he would be able to do it or not.
  11. We already have an example of something from the cognitive realm being brought into the physical and physical....bits....being created. My guess is that Kelsier did the same thing, but because he uniquely has a connection to something in the physical realm, it actually worked for him. I don't think the kandra are involved at all.
  12. Hoid is on Scadrial because he needs to be on Scadrial. He just doesn't know why.
  13. I'm of the same opinion. I don't think men of gold necessarily means literally gold skin. Just gold armor or investiture of some sort. That quote is from super early Scadrial also, so an image of a Taldain warrior may have looked like gold skin, but it could have been armor or sand mastery
  14. I didn't think about that....does hemalurgy affect a person's genetic spirit web? I don't recall a WoB on the subject. We wouldn't have found out about it during the Lord Rulers time since all spiking resulted in the death of a person But that would also mean that spiking a person would introduce those metallic art genetics into their line And I don't know if the extra preservation investiture was for sapience, I had thought it was just to make people "good", but also resulted in Ruin having an edge over Preservation. Could be a factor in a harmony vs discord situation.
  15. Sand armor. Looks golden, and it's right up against their body, so it looks like skin.
