I've strictly been using Brandon's words as evidence and trying to avoid conjecture.

The shard Odium is Adonalsium's strong, passionate, predominantly but not exclusively negative emotions, without Adonalsium's tempering traits, with the irrepressible emotions of hate and anger being the most  prevalent.

I tried to word it as comprehensively as I could, its basically a summation of the Coppermind entry for Odium, if you care to look it up.

Okay, so we are saying similar enough things but we are arguing over phrasings and emphasis.

I would argue the descripter of positive or negative are not useful discussing odium, but I would say a good discriptor would be selfish, all the emotions the shard encourages are there to feed the shareholders base desires and encourage them to consume more, to indulge more and revel in the emotions

As you say, the shard is passion and emotion but it's focus is the most powerful ones, anger and hate shine through. We're both saying the same thing, it's just incorrect to say that the shard is only anger and hatred.

No one is arguing the shard is only anger and hatred. Referring to Odium as the god of anger and hatred does not exclude it from having a strong relationship with other emotions. You made the argument Odium is Passion, not just Hate. That is deceptive because all other passions and emotions are influenced by the overall intent of Hate. To accurately call Odium Passion, Odium would have to demonstrate the ability to appreciate other emotions independent of Hate.

Thor is widely accepted as the god of thunder, despite the fact his is also strong and has a hammer. Does his title need to be changed to "Thor, god of thunder and being strong and having a hammer"?

Very much agreed, like emotional Ashertmarn.

In a way, this means odium works because it expresses the jealousy, the insult the shardholder would feel when it perceives something outside itself, as it would see it as a barrier or rival to continuing it's indulgence

I would disagree with your original point about passion being more accurate as passion has a more selfless element that is not present in the shard odium, hence me bringing up devotion
