Honestly, once you get close the sword becomes a hindrance more than a help. And of course we train with feders (blunt swords) and protective gear, cause we know allll too well how lethal swords can be.

I mean, this is true, but whenever I'm up against a sword I treat it like it's sharp and I'm unarmored. So if you tag me I'll call it

Yes. 

So, to be a little clearer, HEMA is practicing as if you are unarmored with sharps. But even so, grappling happens often because there is one very important fact about blades that people forget: a blade can only cut if it can slide. (If your sword was sharp enough to cut with out that at the beginning of the fight, I can assure you it isn't now. And you shouldn't sharpens them that much, as it wears it out a lot faster)

Yeah I watch some HEMA YouTubers, it's rather interesting. I wanna start if I end up someplace that offers it (and I have the time)

i did gymnastics tumbling, and a like ninja course for a while when i was younger so i can do some stuff. Specifically kicks and stuff like that

Manipulating  the staff in and around your body at varying speeds. I have no official training and know almost no actual tricks but I still have some. It’s fun to do in the rain.
