Sorry for reposting, but I missed this when I made the first comment and it wouldn’t let me quote someone in an edit.

"Oh."

It understood why spreading would be bad, at least.

“O-of course, that means eve-e-e-eryone here ha-as to die-e-e.”

“Ah, those. Thank you. No, I need none of those ( @TwinStorm), though they do provide diversion from time to time.”

"Oh. Yes, please."

Chaos. There is no premise, so we’re all just improvising. From what I have gathered, @TwinStorm is a human on some sort of quest, @Halcyon The Only is an Immortal (divine being) that crashed on this world in a meteor, @Spark of Hope is a mysterious person, @Through The Living Glass is a mysterious, incorporeal being, and my character is some sort of agent for the “Cloud”. @SpiritOfWrath is… something.

World building wise: The “Cloud” is a force that protects the “Framework” of reality. “Viruses” are beings that threaten this Framework somehow. This world has been overrun by viruses, and so to stop them from spreading to other worlds, the Cloud is “rebooting” the world, which would kill everyone currently in it. The rebooting is taking place in a big red storm. Right now, our party is headed East to the Dusklands, where some sort of war is taking place and Jidah (the Immortal) and Owen (the human) hope to find some sort of temple. So yeah, chaos.

". . . Why?"

209845 observed her quizzically.

”Becau-u-use it’s the only way to be-e-e-e sure, of course. Otherwi-i-ise, so-ome viruse-es could escape.”

As they spoke, the group suddenly emerged from the trees to overlook a massive basin, a plain dotted with waterways and settlements. The Dusklands. The name of the place came from the thick layer of fog that blanketed high above the whole basin, shielding it from some of the sun’s light. Despite the darkness, the Dusklands were full of fertile lands to farm unique crops that only grew in this environment. From where the party was standing, most of the land was obscured by the fog. They would need to find a way down, and soon, before the sun set.

"Oh! And you don't want them spreading, right?"

Lati looked over the cliff face.

"Oo, fog."

"Are we going down there? Or would we like to walk across to the other side of the basin?"

"Hold it. Die?"

"That's... strange. What does matter to you? Is anything necessary?"

She thought about this. "Light. I need light."

"Huh. Okay. Weird. Is it a coincidence that you're a god and... the Light Beyond is, you know, light? Is that just a general god thing?"

Sigismund the Wizard appeared with a snap of his fingers. "Curse it," he muttered. "I was supposed to land in the temple!" He stopped and observed his surroundings.

“Yes, every-y-y-yone will die. As I sai-i-id, it is ne-e-ecessary.”

209845 watched them, interested. For some reason, the idea of planetary genocide, even necessary, seemed to bother them.
