209845 watched the discussion taking place beneath it without emotion. A spindly, pure embodiment of the void, the Antivirus glitched as it received its instructions. Out there, far beyond the rolling hills, at the heart of the red storm, waited its superiors. From there, they began to take this world apart bit by bit. And they would succeed. 209845 would see to it.

Final instructions received, the form lifted itself from the ridge and calmly descended the slope to rest in the middle of the ongoing discussion.

”Hello,” it said, faceless.

”My na-a-ame is-s-s 209845, and I was sent to de-e-e-e-elete you.”

"E-e-e-e-e-e-e," mimicked the voice, giggling.

209845 cocked its what could pass for its head at the woman, confused. The action caused it to glitch again.

”Be-e-e-ecause it’s my fu-u-u-unctio-on.”

BZZZZZZ!

209845 jumped, or rather, glitched away from the voice, and buzzed in a distinctly terrified way. The sudden motion sent it into a burst of glitches that took a while to calm down enough to get some words in.

”I-i-i-i-it’s a-a-a virus! Die-e-e-e-e!”

The figure zapped the air menacingly, causing the immediate area to suddenly turn monochrome once more before returning to normal.

"I'm mortal!" the voice said proudly.

"What are you?"

209845 jumped again, but this time was able to regain its composure quickly without too much glitching.

"You-u-u... are not de-e-e-e-eleted? Ho-o-o-ow is this possi-i-i-ible? I am a-a-an antivi-i-i-i-iru-u-us. I was made to de-e-e-estroy you."

"I'm not deleted, I'm mortal! And I have a mind, too!" it chirped happily.

“You a-a-ren’t, bu-u-ut I-IT is.” 209845 nodded in the general direction of the disembodied voice. “A-a-a-and you are sti-i-i-ill a threa-at to the clou-u-ud.”

"I don't think it's a virus."

"You talk funny."

“I’m no-o-o-t fu-u-unny.” Having overcome its fear, 209845 zapped the air once again, to similar avail.

“Tha-a-a-at does not compu-u-ute—“

Suddenly, a large glitch sent 209835 shivering back into a straight form. A deep, modulated voice emerged from within it: “Directive #1: This world has fallen to viruses. To ensure the safety of the Framework, entire system must be rebooted. Begin by deleting all viruses“. The form returned to normal.

She cocked her head.

“Yes, I was here. Where did you come from?”

It took a while, but 209845 eventually regained its senses.

”He-e-e-ey! I’m sti-i-i-ill he-e-e-e-e-ere!”

It tried to zap the air a couple more times, eventually seeming to give up.
