She picked her up and walked out to the room. A boy about Lundyn's age with red hair was lying down on a bed. He saw the two girls. "Who's that?"

"This is Lundyn," Aventine said. "She's going to be traveling with us for a while."

The boy looked at her.

Elan had made his way outside, onto a balcony of the room. He breathed the cool, crisp air.

He couldn't die, not really. He wouldn't die.

When this planet disappeared, he would still be here. Time would pass, but there would always be an Elan out there, somewhere. He smiled. This was beautiful. He couldn't wait to have more adventures.

Exhaling, he went back into the room. He was ready.

I think it's called metamorphosis, and it takes a lot of energy, so I will likely be somewhat different, and snappy, in the morning... sorry in advance."
