She paused for a moment on the doorstep before knocking three times. They could hear some shuffling and movement on the other side of the door.

Nothing else happened.

Insa frowned. She waited a minute or two. Then she three times again but shifted the rhythm slightly. 
Half a minute passed before the door opened. 

An older man stood in the doorway. He looked tired but not weak. There was a very clear quiet strength in his stance. But as he took in Insa and Elan his face softened.

”Insa?”

Insa smiled a little. “Hello Mr. Laurier. May we come in?”

The man nodded looking a little shocked. He moved out of the way for them to come in. 

Insa walked in. “Thank you.”

Mr. Laurier rushed off and towards the voice. 

A hushed conversation could be overheard from the entryway. 

Mr. Laurier led a woman into the entryway.

She hurried towards Insa and hugged her. 

"Please. Please come sit. We'll talk. Whatever you're here for must be serious."

They turned and walked into a living room-like area. Mr. Laurier was in there, casually closing the curtains.
