Ahhhh. Sorry. I'm back. Umm... Let's see.

As Mr. Laurier finished closing the curtains, he turned around to face Insa and Elan.

"Who is this Insa? And why are you here?"

Mrs. Laurier chimed in, "And perhaps if there is time, you could explain how you are here."

Introduce yourself. I need a minute to organize my thoughts.

“I’m Elan. I’m a friend.” He glanced at Insa for a moment, then continued. “We need to know what’s been going on lately. Someone we know might be in trouble."

"My boyfriend might have been here. He's been MIA for a while, and then we got a tip, I suppose that he had been here. I figured it was about time for a trip anyway."

Concern flashed across Mr. Laurier's face. "This really isn't the best place for foreigners."

Insa nodded. "I know, which is why I figured I should probably check it out. He's strong and powerful, but that doesn't mean things will go well for him."

Elan glanced at her. How much about this do you want them to know? Based on what you’ve said so far, you probably want to keep some things private.

I'm gonna need to ask them some questions about it. I saw him here. I can't tell whether it was all a lie or if they're hiding something. I'm not entirely sure they're convinced it's me either. So I feel like we're at a bit of a standstill. Unless I try to give enough information for them to give us more.

“Is there anything you can tell us about where he might be?"

Mr. and Mrs. Laurier glanced at each other. "There have been fewer restrictions on travel between cities. So we've seen more people we don't know. We've also been leaving the house more and answering the door less, so there's no way to be sure."

“I guess that makes sense."

Where did you see Bookwyrm?

Where did you see Bookwyrm?

Knocking on the door.

I was hoping they would have answered, but it makes sense they didn't.

“Do you have any idea where someone would go if you didn’t answer?"

"If they were being obvious that they aren't from here, they probably wouldn't have gotten too far before someone showed up offering to help, who would have really been sent to take him in to the Head. But if they knew how to act and how to hide it, they could have gotten pretty far before the Head noticed."

Saar? What's going on?

Hm? Oh. I'm not sure.

Don't have any other information on Bookwyrm?

I'll poke around and let you know. I kind of stopped paying attention.

Of course.

“How far of a radius would you say?”

Elan nodded and looked at Insa. Anything else we need?

Just one more.

"You said travel restrictions have lightened. Anything else major changed?"

Mr. Laurier shook his head. "I think that's all, really."

Insa nodded. "And perhaps would you have some of Ian's old clothes still?" She motioned to Elan, "It'll be helpful to blend in."

Mrs. Laurier nodded. "What about you? I'm sure I could find something for you."

Insa smiled, "I've got it covered for myself, but thank you."

She nodded and rushed out of the room.

Mr. Laurier watched her leave and then turned to them. He spoke, but his voice was a little lower. "Whatever you're planning, Insa, be careful. You're still a target. And don't give yourself away easily, the public knows your face and your story. Not everyone is on your side."

Insa looked a little taken aback and glanced at Elan.

Perhaps this is going to be more dangerous than I originally thought.

I can temporarily change your appearance, if you want.

That would probably be good. We'll take care of that once we leave here.

Mrs. Laurier hurried back in carrying a bundle of clothes, which she handed to Elan.

"There's a room just down the hallway where you can change."

Elan came back in the new clothes.

As Insa watched Elan walk back in, Saar began to speak.

Head to the north. And be sure to pick up a paper called the Early Post.

Insa smiled at the Lauriers. "Thank you so much for all your help." She stood. "We need to get going now. But I'll be sure to see you again before we leave."

Mrs. Laurier walked them to the door. "Be careful."

Insa gave her a soft and kind smile. "We will. I promise."

Elan nodded respectfully to them. Want me to disguise you now?
