Trusk'our he/him Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 We've seen that Anti-Stormlight won't react within a Radiant unless they're currently full of Stormlight. But, we've also seen that there are other ways to directly force Stormlight into someone. Let's say you're a Windrunner or a Skybreaker. You use Gravitation to weigh down your opponent as you stick them with your handy-dandy Raysium knife, which allows a destructive interaction to occur within them. An enemy Radiant would probably be finished off by this. I doubt this would permanently kill a Fused, as corrupted Spren survive the process of burning away their Stormlight-comprised parts (as shown by Mraize's Cryptic). However, it would still be damaging and could temporarily finish them off from the fight. Another possible weapon to a Radiant could be using an Anti-Stormlight polestone as a grenade by breathing Stormlight into it, though I suppose it really depends on the speed of the reaction and the range you can breath it into the Anti-Stormlight polestone. Might require some mechanical tinkering like with Allomantic grenades (which would arguably remove the need for a Radiant at all). 2

Pretty sure that the way that the Lashings work is by sticking the Stormlight to something, rather than in something, like how Kaladin describes spraying Light on rocks and such (I don't have quotes at the moment, forgive me). The way you describe it might result in some sort of burn/reaction on the surface, but I am unsure as to whether that would be as destructive as it being inside of them. However, in this scenario they're already fighting enemy Surgebinders, who are likely going to be full of Light so that they can fight anyway. And even without killing the Surgebinder directly, they can kill their spren (if they have Sand or are Lift) and remove their ability to fight effectively regardless. Still plenty of easy applications. On 1/25/2025 at 11:54 AM, Trusk'our said: I doubt this would permanently kill a Fused Raboniel's daughter is quite dead. While Surgebinders may be able to circumvent the destructive effects of anti-Light (Shallan), it will for sure kill them if it is timed right or if they are forced to heal from something anyway (I think this is mentioned in WaT. It also seems a similar principle to killing Bloodmakers). 1
BinarySecond Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 I would agree that lashing doesn't put Stormlight into a Radiant the same way they breath it in. Otherwise any Lashed Radiant could just expend that Stormlight to fuel their own abilities. You could have a "double" Raysium dagger that has both Anti and Typical Stormlight and "inject" both at the same time. The only reason the Enlightened Spren don't die from Anti Stormlight is because they're not 100% Stormlight; They're a mix of Void and Stormlight. Fused are pure Voidlight Cognitive Shadows. As Bob said, Raboniel's daughter was annihilated by the effects of the dagger. Anti light is arguably the most dangerous for a Cognitive Shadow stapled to a body as all they are is Investiture contained in a vessel; Rather than a Radiant who isn't. 1
