I've read that with the revelations of WaT the debate between the Honorsprens and the Highsprens loses its meaning. But for me now it makes perfect sense.

The debate is about which of the 2 is closer to Honor, now we have the information that A) The Hornorsprens were created entirely with the investiture of Honor and B) The Intention of Honor is more about Oaths and not about Honorability. So here what happens is that both peoples/species define "closeness" in a different way.

Great point. I thought it was a bit weird the Highspren aren't entirely of Honor but that fact that the Honorspren were created by Tanavast and not just "Honor" is important as it shows Tanavast's intent and perception of Honor and possibly shows a path that Honor itself can take to have a more nuanced intent.

Not quite:

...I created one variety almost entirely on my own. My angels of honor.

WaT, chapter 104

But yes, it seems that highspren have a bit more Cultivation in them than honorspren.

By contrast:

...one variety was born of Kor alone.

which poses the question about how and why the respective Radiant Order was able to use stormlight at all.

I'm guessing it was a mis-wording. I think Sanderson has said that all non-void spren are a mixture of Honor and Cultivation. It just means that honor spren are almost entirely of Honor and cultivation spren are almost entirely of Cultivation. Which seems perfectly reasonable.

I would attribute this to the fact that even with that flashback we do not have the exact process for the creation of the True Sprens.
If they were indeed created by mutating existing Sprens, then the Cultivationspren's would be created based on the Lifespren's (100% Cultivation), while the Honorspren's would be created based on Windspren's (of which we do not know how they aligned after the fragmentation).

However, as it is written it somewhat ruins the idea that Honor (power) likes symmetry, since if she did I would not be happy with the imbalance that this would entail.
