Potential discrepancy Szeth (WaT Spoilers)

When Szeth is recalling getting the blade in WoK he says truthless are given a choice between blade or plate, but not both. In WaT it is revealed that truthless are normally not given either, and Szeth, as a special case was allowed to retain the blade at "the voices" request never getting any other option.

Huh, that’s a good point. Almost definitely some kind of retcon going on there.

Szeth doesn't say Truthless are given a choice between Blade or Plate. In the Way of Kings prologue it says “His Lashings interfered with the gemstones that powered Shardplate, and he had to choose one or the other.” Which means that he would have to choose between wearing Plate or using his Lashings, if he had access to a set of Plate.
